Though Rutherford was wrong on many counts, this is something he got right because Jesus had used "Kingdom of heavens" and "Kingdom of God" interchangeably. (Mathew 5:3, 5; 19:23, 24)

Another example of how Watchtower are rewriting their own history.
by skin infrom today's daily wt text.. friday, december 31 2021.let your kingdom come.
let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.—matt.
6:10. christendom generally does not teach the scriptural truth that one day obedient humans will live forever on earth.

MY GOSPEL
by pistolpete inhas anyone ever read the new testament- critically- and not theologically?
by theologically i mean not reading the bible with the intention of understanding the nature of god and religious truth.
but instead, reading the bible by analyzing only the facts of what is written, in an unbiased frame of mind to pull out what is actually happening in the written stories.. first of all, if you were to read the nt in chronological order, paul’s 7 authentic letters would come before the gospels of matthew, mark, luke, and john.

That was a wonderful Christmas Gift! You have nailed it beyond doubt—Paul was teaching a different Gospel. He did not remain in teachings of Jesus. (Mathew 13:24-30)
Jesus had God’s view with regard to women as equal to men. (Genesis 5:1) He chose to reveal the most important spiritual truths to a woman who was from a “low” caste community called Samaritans. (John 4) He declared that projection of woman as inferior was the result of “hardheartedness” of some ancient men, which obviously has nothing to do with Scriptures. (Mathew 19:4-8) He praised woman as having keener insight into future and spirituality than men (Mathew 26:10-13 Contrast John 6:60) and appointed woman to impart vital spiritual truth to men. (John 20:16-18)
In contrast, Paul’s view of woman (as a creature to be silent and a machine for pregnancy) fits with the need of Church dominated by male superiority. (1 Corinthians 14:34) Hence Church wanted a person like Paul to sound its doctrines to be inspired, as coming via Paul, from Jesus.

Watson,
Verses and accounts can be invented. For example, Mark 16:9-20; 1 John 5:7. All prophets were advocates of Law of Sow and Reap. (Isaiah 3:10, 11; Mark 4:24; Galatians 5:7 …etc.) Such teachings make existence of religions unnecessary but religions want a God who forgives. Hence they wanted characters who are known for their spirituality but occasionally fall into sin—hence David’s sins were to be invented—just like account in John 8:2-11 was invented. (My Favorite Passage that’s Not in the Bible)
Even very big subject too can be invented https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5654969410650112/there-no-heavenly-calling-wishful-thinking-jws
New Covenant of NT has nothing to do with its supposed basis in Jeremiah 31:31-34, hence a new teaching.

Here too there is a choice between what God Himself says and what his envious contemporaries say;
1)God, through His prophet told King Jeroboam: “You have not been like my servant David, who kept my commands and followed me with all his heart, doing only what was right in my eyes”—1 King 14:8
King Jeroboam “did more evil than all who lived before him.” “‘Because of this, I am going to bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam. I will cut off from Jeroboam every last male in Israel—slave or free.[a] I will burn up the house of Jeroboam as one burns dung, until it is all gone”—but except one body who “ the only one belonging to Jeroboam who will be buried, because he is the only one in the house of Jeroboam in whom the Lord, the God of Israel, has found anything good. ( 1 King 14:9, 10, 13)
2) David’s envious contemporaries say David is blood-guilty, committed adultery etc

New World Translation is not much different other translations
by Abraham1 inkey scripture 2 timothy 3:16 should have been translated as “every scripture inspired of god is also profitable for teaching” like many other serious translations (such as american standard version ; douay-rheims bible etc) as it is what the greek text says.. this is in harmony with the contents of bible and also with the writer paul himself who knew after his departure ‘even from his own number men will arise and distort the truth.’ (acts 20:29-30) for example, verses such as romans 7:19 is such distortion.
such verses cannot originate from real paul who was “holy, righteous and blameless.” (1 thessalonians 2:10) hence paul had the freeness of speech to tell others to be “blameless” like him (1 thessalonians 5:19-23; ephesians 5:24) there are many things in the scriptures which are not inspired such as words of satan, words of job’s wife and his false friends, words of judas, lot’s daughters …etc.
apostle peter never disowned jesus because if he had done so, his contemporaries would have interrupted him when he rebuked jews, saying: “you disowned the holy and righteous one and asked that a murderer be released to you.“ (acts 3:14) his listeners would have asked him “what right do you have to reprove us for ‘disowning jesus” when you yourself have done it first?” all such verses or accounts were later adoptions.

Another mistake is Revelation 18:23, an important verse, that identifies Babylon The Great as an entity that misleads all the pagans (ἔθνη, ethnē) using “medication.” The word used is φαρμακείᾳ (pharmakeia) which means “Magic, sorcery, enchantment. From pharmakeus; medication, i.e. magic (Strong's 5331). It is from this word the modern word pharmacy comes.
But NW Translation rendered it as “spiritistic practices.” (https://www.jw.org/en/library/bible/study-bible/books/revelation/18/) Since Revelation is all about signs and symbols, medication is also symbolic of what people consider to be solution—just like medicine is parallel force to our immunity. In other words, it is all about going in parallel to God’s will for man, as happened in original Babel. When God’s will was for people to spread out, they wanted to build a tower-like apartment that is as high as sky. Thus Babel or Babylon stands for anti-God attitude result of which is the murder of joy of others: “in her was found the blood of prophets and of holy ones [the righteous] and of all those who have been slaughtered on the earth.” (Revelation 18:24) Thus religion is only a part of such attitude, not the whole.
But, according to JWs, Babylon the Great is the world-wide empire of false religions of which Christendom is the dominant part. Thus they lost a great opportunity in the Last Days—especially in its peak stage in correctly identifying Babylon the Great. Revelation chapter 11 speaks about “ruination” or pollution of the earth’s environment [result of which is “tossing of the seas” or sea-level rise, Luke 21:25]. Revelation chapter 12 speaks of God’s organization being born and waiting for the climax of Last Days and “Restoration” of Paradise on earth. (Mathew 19:28; Acts 3:21) And Revelation 13 speaks of an unprecedented situation on earth where people can “not buy or sell.” (Revelation 13:17) Though it has its figurative fulfillment, we experience now even its literal fulfillment with the various forms of powerful enforcement on people in connection with pandemic. Such pandemic itself and also such enforcements brought a situation on inhabitants of earth that they find no more charm in Babylonian (or anti-God) attitude which means “Fall of Babylon the Great.” (Revelation 14:8) This happened so unexpectedly that Babylonian attitude suffered a great fall as though “in one hour.” (Revelation 18:10) Soon such attitude will be replaced with that of self-sacrificing attitude of the righteous. (Mathew 19:28-30)

Do Jehovah's really have true Bible studies?
by RULES & REGULATIONS infrequently asked questions.
if i accept a bible study, will i be pressured to become one of jehovah’s witnesses?.
jehovah’s witnesses love teaching people about the bible, but we never pressure anyone to join our religion.

When JWs have made deliberate mistakes (such as Mathew 5:3; 25:46) in their NW Translation Bible to suit their own teaching, how can it be called Bible Study?
Mathew 25:46 is rendered in all Translations as: ““Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” (https://biblehub.com/matthew/25-46.htm)
Only NW Translation puts their own thought into it and distorts the whole meaning: “These will depart into everlasting cutting-off.” (https://www.jw.org/en/library/bible/study-bible/books/matthew/25/)

29% of Americans are "Nones"
by IWant2Leave inaccording to a recent pew report, ones who are not affiliated with any religion are the fastest growing group.
if they were a religion they would be the largest.
's who are leaving religion, but cuts across a wide spectrum.

People leave religions because of illogical teachings about God. What if all religions had taught only two sentences such as Mathew 7:12; Mark 4:24 and showed love in their actions, no one would have left religions.
In comparison, atheists are in better standing with God. They can’t digest a God who orders genocide such as given in Numbers 31:17, 18, hence reject such a God. Depiction of True God is given in matthew/5/43-48, and this true God would only be happy with atheists because HE knows that atheists got better perspective about what God should be than religions who put their thoughts into God’s mouth.

So Sorry To Hear About The Tornado`s & loss of Life in the USA .
by smiddy3 inthe destruction that hit what, 6 states, ?
was really devastating.i hope none of our friends on this forum were victims of it.. my thoughts go out to all of those living in those areas that are affected .. i can imagine the double standards that jw`s have about this tragedy ,on the one hand being concerned about fellow jw`s that may have been affected ,loss of life or property ,and on the other hand rejoicing that it is yet another sign of how close armageddon is to destroy all opposers and apostates ..

Even Kingdom Halls are affected by natural calamities like these. God plays no role in natural calamities. Warmer climate means extreme tornadoes https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2021/12/is-there-a-link-between-climate-change-and-extreme-tornados.html

JWs have already identified as "pagans" because one aspect of their mark is this: "And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? (Mathew 5:47) Hence aftermath of Armageddon will not be like the way JWs teach.

Smiddy3,
1) Branch buildings that are now sold to sustain full-time servants were once dedicated with heart-felt prayers from GB members "praying for increse" in the respective territories in line with Isaiah 60:22.
But Jehovah did not answer those prayers.
2) Instead of fleeing to Egypt (Mathew 2:13) Joseph could have prayed to God, and His angels could have saved infant Jesus from Herod's soldiers. This would have converted king and his army, and even the whole people into God's side.
