What is the alternative to JW?

i mean this with all due respect, i would like to hear from genuine people who think jw have it wrong and then what is the truth?.

im not talking about silly little quibbles here and there.. is jehovah real?

Hi,

I was a fast learner when I initially got pulled into a 'study' with JWs. I quickly mastered the art of learning how all the bible books are organised, picking out 'special' scriptures.....learning the mystical 'equation' from daniel and revelation that makes 1914...

Long time ago now.

Oh, and I learned how JWs were involved in a separating work, actually dividing the sheep from the goats. Those who turned down God's provision of a 'holy' magazine at their door, were in effect, turning away from and rejecting God. This belief and doctrine was valid right up to the early 90s.

A 'no thank you' to me standing at their door was in fact a rejection of my message from God - according to the WTBTS.

Yet my magazines, leaflets and publications contained erroneous 'truths' it would later turn out...

I thought we were 'different' to other religions ....

Just my thoughts.

So to sum up what options we have come up with so far on this thread:-

1. No religion, the Bible is just another book written by men, so you then have to believe in Evolution.

2. There is a creator, but JW's are not the closest to the truth, but after 21 pages of hundreds of posts, we still cant find another alternative.

3. Is there a third option?

Plans for huge Jehovah's HQ take shape

its going to be a real beautiful place when its finished.. they are going for quality over quantity.

it used to be accommodation for a few thousand permanent residents, now its looking like less than a thousand permanent with the possibility of a few thousand more in temporary accommodation should the need arise.. some say the plans are going to be like a garden of eden in england :) i mean they had farming in london over the years but this is going to be epic what they are planning for temple farm at chelmsford.. they are planting thousands (literally) of fruit trees, including tropical fruits in huge green houses, huge vines yards and then the same basic farming activities as before.

Anyway back to Chelmsford, does anybody have upto date info on the underground project?

Somebody said they are letting a few more people in, a bit closer than before, does this mean they have got the top back on, so now what remains underground can remain hidden?

I would so love it if an insider could post some pictures or something.

Once they start building over the secret project, it will be very hard to tell what that was all about with the secret underground bunker or whatever it is.

The real reason Chelmsford hasn't been stopped

i haven't seen this mentioned yet.

last year in the uk, shortly after the money grab that everyone had, we had a video and letter (both probably still available from atlantis) appealing for money for the new bethel and slips were handed out etc.

this means that most uk congregations are sending a regular donation specifically for the chelmsford build.

this article suggests that there are projects being halted, but chelmsford isn't one of them.

Why are you so obsessed with the preaching work? Doesn't it matter WHAT is being preached? Perhaps not, since you think the Mormons are sticking close to the bible (Do some research into their beliefs and the difference between their 'milk and meat.' On the surface it all seems so rosy, but in the deeper reality, it is very, very weird. So are witnesses' beliefs, actually). A cult is a cult.... does it make it any better that they are preaching far and wide? Does that make it more true?

Former brother, go walk into a real church and ask some questions.

Yes I know the Mormons have some very weird ideas about aliens and they will all be gods ruling over the rest of us when the aliens come back to Earth. I think that is all nonsense.

But I still think the Mormons are the next best alternative, compared with every other option we have come up with in this thread. If this is wrong then please come up with another suggestion? Who do you think is the best alternative to JW's?

Which real church are you suggesting please? Im serious please suggest which one I want to look into it?

Somebody said the truth has not yet been found out yet, OK this is another option. Maybe there is an as yet created religion who will in the future follow the bible closer than JWs.

But on reflection, after 6000 years of human history, I think it would have come about already.

When Jesus said this is how you will know my true followers, those who have love amongst themselves, he was saying that there would be a true religion and it would be clearly identifiable by the fact that they will be united in every nation and they will have love for each other.

Well the Catholics for example on both sides in WW1 and WW2 fought against each other, and Jesus identifying feature only applies to JWs.

Hi, first time posting here! I've never been a JW but I learned about this site about 6 months ago. This and another post finally pushed me to get in on the action To answer your question, YES, there are other alternatives! I definitely agree with Jan and Ding and many of the other responses. I believe in God and have received Jesus as my Savior and rely on His strength to get through this life. I believe that the Bible is the Word of God--all of it. I read all of it, and in its context. I have never been a JW. There are other alternatives still. -

Please state specifically which alternative to JWs is closer to the truth about the bible?
As we have said the Mormons are the closest when it comes to following the bibles command to go out in twos and to preach the good news to all the nations.
Come on their must be clear affirmative other alternatives to JWs?
I am amazed nobody can come up with another option apart from the Mormons.

Thanks all for the very thoughtful replies. But this thread is strictly about what is the closest alternative, or what is the truth about the creator if not the JWs interpretation of the bible?

There are lots of other threads picking out points here and there, please keep posts of those threads or start a new one.

So still seems Mormons are the next closest, if you are looking for the closest to the Bible. Or are there any other options we have missed who stick close to the bible in its entirety?

Or the other option is evolution, OK that answers the question.
