A little bit of everything...from a well established source, and try right and left, because this times it's a good rift in between. Don't forget the Europeans and Asians. Sometimes is good to know a little bit the historical context too. It's pretty easy to detect a bad place ex. histories about aliens, the end of the world, etc.

What’s your favorite "News" website?
by Wonderment innews in general are supposed to be unbiased.
but given how commercial and political interests get their tentacles around them, finding a fully unbiased news website is not so easy.. here in america some would rather trust bbc or reuters than they do cnn or fox news.
any favorites?.

The Threat From Ebola by Somebody Who Discovered It
by cofty inthis interview in der spiegel is well worth your time.... peter piot was one of the scientists who discovered ebola in 1976. turns out it was the fault of catholic nuns who coldn't be bothered to sterilise the needles they were using to administer vitamins to pregnant women.. he describes the present outbreak as "a perfect storm" which could claim a frightening number of lives in africa and india.
he doesn't see it as a serious threat to countries with a modern health care system.. "i still remember exactly: one day in september, a pilot from sabena airlines brought us a shiny blue thermos and a letter from a doctor in kinshasa in what was then zaire...".

They are increasingly appealing to emotion
by cookiemaster inthey always have but lately, they've taken it to a whole new level.
the new convention video about the end, the many videos at conventions and meetings, the new songs, all highly emotionally manipulative.
and they're working.

The Borg is using a lot more of visual stuff because they know that with all cultural change about seeing and not reading, nobody is gonna read books like in the 60's to 80's anymore. And yes they are catching people with emotional stuff in third world countries. Be a little bit like Pentecostals or disappear.

Ebola again in Africa...and another nasty virus called Nipah in India too. I mean, what's the purpose of those virus? Just to be killing humans for the sake of killing? Could be an evolutionary purpose?

Neanderthals - Meet Your Ancestors
by Earnest intonight (sunday, 13th may) at 20:00 on bbc 2 ... for neanderthal believers, agnostics and deniers.. this first programme in a two-part series investigates what neanderthals looked like and and how they lived in their ice age world.
it turns out that almost everything we thought we knew about them is wrong.
they weren't hunched, grunting, knuckle-dragging ape-men at all.

Good for you....I still remember how detailed and full of rules Mosaic law is. Also how different is for example the Jesús Mountain's Sermón from Apostle Paul's theology. I'll say is a good adventure.

The Label Of "Apostate" And It's Effects
by pale.emperor inin my psychology studies we've been examining the use of "labels" and how they influence peoples behaviour.
i sometimes wonder if the gb or their helpers know exactly what they're doing when it comes to psychological manipulation.. it's been observed that by labeling someone or something it changes your entire perception of that person or thing.
it colours it entirely, quite unfairly in some cases.

Mostly we are still Christians, we're not leaving Christianity, therefore we're not 'apostates'. I don't hear a lot of 'apostate' talk in between Protestants and Catholics, maybe just fringe groups. I agree it's just a label.

Iran vs. Israel - could it be the beginning of Armageddon?
by tartarus ini have recently read in the news that an attack on iran is planned sometime after the olympics in beijing.
here's a bit of background to it:.
when irans fledgling democracy was overthrown with support of cia the shah of iran was giving israel free oil thru a pipeline that still runs thru saudi arabia to a refinery in the israeli city of haifa.
