Sign of the Last Days

in the sermon on the mount, jesus foretold that earthquakes “in one place after another” would be part of the sign of the last days clímaxing in the great tribulation.. what could jesus possibly have meant?

using a phone app nowadays, there are earthquakes detected in one place after another but is this what jesus meant and did they have so many earthquakes throughout the centuries affter his prophecy or are these modern day detected earthquakes unique to this epoch?

how can we be sure unequivocally that modern day earthquakes are part of the sign fulfilling bible prophecy?.

Earthquakes? It had been happening on Earth since billions of years ago....

Yeah, yeah ...some geological epochs are more active than others. However geological times goes by millions and millions of years, and as I read somewhere else earthquakes are necessary (specially near tectonic boundaries)...if not Earth would become flat with no mountains at all.

As for sign of the times, the huge ones in San Andreas or Cascadia could happen in a couple of minutes or in a 300 years span or more, who knows?

Only one weekly meeting?

new wt october 2023....first an article remembering 1923....they make changes, the had a "prayer, praise and testimony weekly meeting".. after an study article about obey, specially paragraph 18.. i have a wild guess, next year, just one weekly meeting for the borg..

Silicon Valley Bank bankruptcy....

didn't know silicon valley bank was so important for start-ups....now there's some sort of contagion, people taking their money from regional banks to the big banks.

.

system seems pretty resilient and different from 2008. thoughts?.

First Republic Bank, third bank failure this year (last weekend) , largest since 2008, there's a couple more of regional banks in trouble, I hope it gets fixed

elders will need the courage to follow instructions "may relate to delivering a symbolic hailstone message...".. in another section "major world events may raise some from spiritual slumber".

Just wait until GB 3.0 is fully in charge.... I'll bet $ 100 that is gonna be nu-light (remember Anna the prophetess in the NT and Deborah the judge in the OT), and presto, women would at least MS !

There's no way the could fill the ranks of elders and MS without women!

CNN...."UBS agree to buy Credit Suisse for $ 3.25 billions, about 60 % less than the bank was worth when markets close Friday."

I wonder what's gonna happen with the other handful of banks tomorrow Monday. Lucky guess, the government is taking the complete deposits (over $250 k) as insurable.

Kinda weird how fast this situation is evolving.

What novels would you recommend?

i used to have a large-ish novel collection but my current collection is scaled-down because i was forced to move back to bolton 4 years ago and didn't have enough room for them all in my suitcases.. i currently own just 9 novels.. salem's lot (stephen king).

Light reading? All the Agatha Christie novels, you know detective novels.

More difficult, like "Brave New World" by Huxley.

If you have the time (is always the time...) "Crime and Punishment" by Dostoevsky...or "Light of August" by Faulkner...
