Good for you....I still remember how detailed and full of rules Mosaic law is. Also how different is for example the Jesús Mountain's Sermón from Apostle Paul's theology. I'll say is a good adventure.

The Label Of "Apostate" And It's Effects
by pale.emperor inin my psychology studies we've been examining the use of "labels" and how they influence peoples behaviour.
i sometimes wonder if the gb or their helpers know exactly what they're doing when it comes to psychological manipulation.. it's been observed that by labeling someone or something it changes your entire perception of that person or thing.
it colours it entirely, quite unfairly in some cases.

Mostly we are still Christians, we're not leaving Christianity, therefore we're not 'apostates'. I don't hear a lot of 'apostate' talk in between Protestants and Catholics, maybe just fringe groups. I agree it's just a label.

If this new system for the JW was like name, address, D.O.B it shouldn't be problematic at all....but with all that detailed information it resembles the Chinese government and their proposed 'national reputation system'. Also remember...once in Internet, it could be hacked.

It's incredible how time goes...just this thread is 10 years! ...but anyway is all in the news today, Israel is about to bomb Iran. So sorry to be paranoid but I think Israel is gonna adjust counts with Iran anyway before the start of the Russia world's soccer cup on June the 14 th. ....Russia has been treating the Israelis badly lately, and it's a great opportunity to suspend the event and leave them with a big black eye. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, big soccer fan here.

Withdrawing community support in the congs
by purrpurr ini've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.
counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.
if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

I've always been thinking that little things could help the Borg a lot, like, for example, a playground for the little ones...no little one wants to be listening for two hours behaving nice! Other things like, make the half week meeting a lot more familiar could help. Just to save the face they could say 'the paradise is already here, let's people inside be more like a family" Of course, merging congs is a terrible idea. Saves money but creates a business like experience. People think 'lets finish this and get out of here'.
