  How sad isnt it!!! Yes, I smiled about the underlining. Thank you. We do fancy ourselves clever dont we?

  Oh well, it made us feel better for the moment.

  Yes, My daughter is very much involved as I was at one time. I set a good example for her. Now she considers me a bad influence. Wow how the tables have turned. I have many regrets and have reaped the consequences. I fortunately reaquainted myself with siblings years ago and tearfully apologized for losing touch. You know how it is, they're not the best association. It stings and hurts.... now I know how my siblings felt. I'll take my lashes now.

  God, its a mixed up world. Why did I ever believe I should abandon them. One is disfellowshiped and a wonderful person she was 18. My other sister tried so hard to connect. Im so glad they had more love in their hearts than I had in my actions. Shame on me. It has worked out well.

  Hidden message in JW bunker video?

  so, i was speaking with a relative recently, who is "in" the borg, but is completely aware of the terrible hypocrisy from the gb down.

  he is not in the box, and its great to be able to have a realistic, and logical discussion about the current state of the org.. we started discussing, specifically, about that bunker video that was released in december.

  how it is being played at all the conventions.

  I am so glad to read this. I went to Friday and Saturday of the convention but did not go Sunday. What has been disconcerting is the amount of "frenzied thoughts" circulating after. Everyone is saying to prepare for the great tribulation because it's here!! To heighten this frenzy, was the lack of announcement of a convention for next year. Everyone has somewhat emulated the thought if your "weak" or "disfellowshiped", get away. They are breaking ties, it appears. Which is ridiculous and scary all in one. No man can keep the Creator from saving a life of someone who they may not deem as good enough to live. It's scary because for the last couple of years a statement has been made that if the GB asks you to do something that seems odd, don't question it. It will mean your life.

  What to make of all of this? I do believe the end may come someday but I am terrified that if my life depends on the Witnesses they will not help me.

  I do believe its fear mongering but its scary no matter how you look at it.

  this may be old news to some while most won't even know who he is.

  in case you don't know him, he was a jw that defended many of the jw doctrine publicly.

  he did this mainly in the form of two books, jw's defended and three dissertations on the teachings of jw's.

  Scratchme1010 I do have many concerns but I know they will pass. I will pursue what I pursued my entire life only in secret. The arts, science and mysteries... the unknown. I love our big world of info. I never could do anything witlhout guilt. I cant tell you how many time I got caught up on a painting and didnt study for the meeting. There I would sit with small remnants of paint on a nail and think I hope no one sees my unstudied lesson.

  No, life goes on. But pain does remain. I will fake it with my daughter and act as normal as possible. Try to act like nothing is wrong. As a witness, I have gotten good at faking. lol

  I'm really not good at it and I know I do it all in vain..

  How very touched I am by all of your comments!!!! I have dreamed of expressing these thoughts. I have kept them pent up for so long. I know the witnesses see it and sometime I forget who I am talking to and let my thoughts slip but pull them back quickly. Thank you all.

  Listener, I did not go to Sundays program. I am repeating what I have heard, no doubts, their own spin on it.

  I do not mean any disrespect to the witnesses or any one for that fact.

  I am grappling with the "what ifs" they are somehow right about all of this. I have to say though they would not allow me to live in their new world if I made it. Whats wrong with them?? Why are they so sure??

  I live in the world of information and study. I am a college grad but I cant say I definitively am sure of all things. To me this is INCREDULOUS!!

  Thank you ToesUp. I Do recognize cult like activities. I did years ago and spent over 10 yrs out. I have been back 5 and inactive for 2. I know something is wrong but there is something in me that has a spiritual desire. I feel like they took something from me and I could never be a part of any other religion. They have some truths but want to control ever area of your life.

  I did feel freedom when I quit. I LOVED every moment of it. Now here I am wondering what has happened to me. I feel sooooo lonely. I think the Jws know something I dont know, I am not one of them. I just cant seem to conform and have a rigid view of everything and everyone.

  I have been very concerned about the tone of discussion surrounding sundays program. I went to Friday and Sat., not Sunday. I have heard much talk about preparing for the great tribulation. This talk was further fueled by "no mention" of next years convention. The talk I am hearing centers around the modern day drama about what occured during Nazi invasion and the friends were hiding. Sometime they would have to have a secret knock to identify a legit witness and then be let in for meeting. I understand this, but some are saying that the time will come, only those in good standing will be let in. They will shut out anyone weak or not deserving.

  This keeps playing in my head, the faithful slave has said numerous times to prepare for a time when they will ask or direct us to do something that will seem odd and unusual. We must listen. Does this frighten anyone else???

  I do go to the meeting occasionally but no one seems to care. I have even been told I am bad association from my pioneer daughter though I am not disiplined. I just am not regular.

  if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even christ has been raised.

  and if christ has not been raised, your faith is futile... .

  Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and I find all the discussion boards incredibly edifying and cathartic.

  I was thrilled to find this forum but I must admit, it would be consequential if my fellow JW's found out.

  I do appreciate the ability to talk without censor- as long as Im not "mean" or "name-calling". I can appreciate the need to be civilized.

  On the subject mentioned, putting aside the complicated talk of biocentrism and the atheist doubts of the existence of God and everythng related to God. I find that most atheist views, fly out the window if they encounter a spirit being, force, ghost whatever they want to call it and cant explain it scientifically. Some will change others will not, no matter what, because they dont want to believe. Science is like religion, it is dogmatically argued, you have believers and nonbelievers always.

  I do appreciate research and the science behind it. I always go back to my college days of seeing idiotic teachers rejecting a proven scientific thing. You cant change ignorant people who want to remain ignorant.

  I just want to let you all know I do attend meetings periodically but I do have my own doubts and feelings about the Jws just like you. I go to placate to humans because I have family who would disown me if I didnt show up periodically. I learned a long time ago that you question nothing, but if you do keep it to yourself.

  Also a very painful lesson, friendships in the organization exist only if you are doing well spiritually.

  So I, like all of you, are fascinated by thougts of "worldly people" and love to explore them all.
