now if there wont be a 'governing body'.....or lets say 'a set of arangement', what would the elders teach? (i know the main theme is Jehovah's Kingdom). What would they be saying every week?.........atleast when theres a 'governing body' with a 'switch' we can always go see the different tube lights switched on n off now and then! :) lol

Was There REALLY a First Century "Governing Body"??
by Lady Liberty infirst century governing body?the watchtower claims that a formal governing body was established in the first century, which is used as the basis for how the governing body of the watchtower society operate today.. "while all anointed christians collectively form god's household, there is abundant evidence that christ chose a small number of men out of the slave class to serve as a visible governing body.
the early history of the congregation shows that the 12 apostles, including matthias, were the foundation of the first-century governing body.
" - watchtower 1990 mar 15 p.11 the term "governing body" is 'loaded language' as it never appears in the scriptures and so has unique application within the pages of the watchtower.

indeed i've [email protected].......................@tornapart u know i just find it strange that people like elders or now 'elders wives' get shocked by all these. Its just strange n funny. U should tel me what u found out that shocked u. And if ur husband, the 'elder' doesnt have an answer to it, then i'l be soo comfortable. I might seem seeing elders as a big deal. Wel in my cong. It is. My peers 'behind talk' about how hard it is to get privleges here, so from that we conclude that they know 'too much' (in a good way).........................@quandry oh my!!!!!! :( I'm sorry for ur daughter, n ur family. So r u guys back or permanently out? Wel she might be successful but then who/where does she worship? The idea of being 'neutral' is freaking scarey. Good advice, And yes, something in common with ur daughter, i'l be taking gynaecology (my parents dont discourage university)

FAQ "Do you believe that [Jehovah's Witnesses] are the only ones who will be saved?"
by wannabefree inthe spin from from www.jw-media.org.
do you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?no.
many millions who have lived in centuries past and who were not jehovahs witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity for life.

(please pardon my English quotes from the bible. I'm trying to translate from Swahili, i cant find my English bible lol). So i had my bible study yesterday and my teacher came with an elder. I had previously asked her if the anointed ones all over the world communicate.......so the elder showed me Acts 15. Here we see brothers from Judea teaching congs that circumcission is necessary for salvation. But Paul n Barnabas disagreed. So they decided to go to Jerusalem to 'the apostles n old men' to ask about the teaching. After 'discussing' the issue, they 'decided' as seen on verse 19 n 20 ''i've decided to not trouble thoz turning to God; but to write them to abstain from things polutted by idols, fornication, things trungled and blood''.............. After that, they chose men, wrote a letter for them to send to 'congregations'. Part of the letter said, 'the holy spirit together with us'....then they said what they had decided..............and at vers 30 n 31, after the chsen men read the letter to the multitude, 'they rejoiced upon the encouragement'............. so the elder that came to me said 'the anointed all over the world dont communicate. but they all await for the faithful slave i.e the governing body, just like there were apostles n old men. see all the firsr century christians were the anointed but still they went to the apostles and old men for 'guidance'. And did u see their response? They rejoiced to the encouragement'........ so i asked the elder, 'were those orders or suggestions?' the elder said they were 'instructions'. And insisted 'the brothers rejoiced over it'.......i was like 'no further Qs ur honour'. So y do people say the GB is 'totalitarian'? The 1st century christians did the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIRST OF ALL, I'M A GIRL!!!!!! Thank u. Now, @djegnogg the only thing i've read/heard from u so far is ur too young. Ur a child. U cnt take care of urself n blah........i came in here to look for spiritual advice and the only thing ur doing is tryng to take my mind off that n shift it to.....what 'fleshy' issues?? Wel thanx for ur advice but i dnt appreciate it cuz u underestimate me too much.........just to make some things clear, i get turns to cook at home. When theres no house help i take care of the house. I went to a beauty school so i make my on money during holidays.........if from that i still cant take care of other people much less 'my children' then i'm just wonderin how old was ur wife when u married her. 40?? n jst FYI i know to spell wat i write very well, i'm not on an English test here to type everythn correctly. Infact i try to improve it cuz i noticed that many r older ppl in here. So that extra time u suugested i 'learn how to spell', i'l use it 'FOR RESEARCH'......................... @elderelite i understand. I'l just be posting my Qs then.......................... @tornapart u sure? I would love that. But Elderelite changed his mind. Maybe u shod think it over too...................@poopsiecackes loool u do know hes older right? Lmao........................@outsmartthesystem lool like which thread?............................@cantleave lol i would have listened to him. I just wanted info. But since he thinks i'm too young then i think he has nothing to say to me n i shouldnt bother listening.......................@stealth see djeggnog is agaisnt the society now. its Tanzania in East Africa.......i feel like the only one here who knows these things. Theres this saying, 'if u want to hide something from an African, write in a book.' lool sooo trueee. Oh n ya its Fred Franz.............................. @djeggnog, brother/sister u just gave me an earthquake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U seem to be an active witness to me. U havent encouraged me to do more research...............u adviced me to not answer the PMs..............and u just sound like my mum, 'i'm TOO young'. And if i'm not a witness y do the elders call me to ask for reports? (but never asked me y i stoped reporting or why i dont go to meetings often)..............Anyways, the main thing i got in mind is 'the teachings' more than 'the apostate opinions'............are what they're saying all lies??? (thats what a JW will want me to beleive. I've been there two weeks ago.lol)................thanx for the answers to my questions but thats the problem, giving me ansers with refernce to watchtower publications only (n am nt alowed to look for more info on other souces) thats what gave me curiosity on the first place............i havent decided what to do yet, i didnt say i'l do what i saw former JWs did. N i didnt say i'l stick with the WT. Thats y i asked for advice. U sugest what i do.....n dont assume i've decided something already.....n i dont think i'm too young to reason......i'l make my decision after a long search (but for sure i have this 'freedom' feeling that i never had lol)............................................@elderite i reeeealy wish to talk to an 'elder' with an acount in this type of site. Now its geting funnier than scarier. I'm sending u a PM thou djeggnog doesnt aprove of it.............................@all, thanx to all of u, :) atleast i dont feel like in a vaccum anymore. I'm kind of sure of geting more info of some teachings from in here
