How many people did Satan kill in the Bible?

for some reason i've been wondering about this lately.

i've read the bible end to end many years ago, and i can't recall how many people satan personally struck down.

i'm not talking about twisted reasonings and long term implications.

- you could make a pretty good case that "Satan" (through the snake) really told Eve the truth, while "God" lied to Adam & Eve. They didn't die "that day" from eating of the tree, but they did gain moral knowledge, as serpent said would happen.

Not much different in the story of Job. God told Job he could hurt Job if he could do it without actually touching him. So what did he do? He touched the wind that toughed and killed Jobs kids. Was it a true test of faith for Job or was it really a battle of wits between God and Satan? Everything written in the bible about Satan seems to be of that nature. A battle of wits.
edited to add At our expense. It as though we are toys, for now, and if we are good toys we get rewarded with the real life later.

You can "work at a university doing research" and not hold any higher degree than a BA...

I noticed that a long time ago with most articles they published. It became very annoying. A window washer can do research at a university. All they would have to do is work there and ask someone a question…walah! Research!

i was emboldened by elsewhere's post where he called his mini cooper "nancy".

the large glass of wine also helped me to make an admission.

many years ago, i named my car "sully" after the scrumptious character in "dr quinn, medicine woman", mainly to tease my daughter.

The way I understand it, satan doesn't have the power to actually kill anyone...only god can give someone or something the ability to kill. He left the bad guy out. He can only trick us into killing ourselves.

So, why would god give everythig except satan that power/ability?

killing is a luxury I spose.

how many just stopped believing in the jw predictions/description of what armageddon is all about?

ive met exjws that stopped believing in everything they were taught and ive met some that stopped believing in everything except armageddon.

ive heard comments like: boy wont they be surprised when the day comes and they find out they arent the only ones surviving.

I swear to god there is a sister in my ex-cong that, probably to this day, is waiting for the new system to come so she will no longer need plastic surgery to maintain a youthful appearance. I have no recollection of her being at all concerned with human suffering other then her own wrinkles. She is by far the most self-centered ex-friend I have ever known. I became so repulsed one evening by her ability to apply scripture to her own self-admiration that I told her to take a flying### and never spoke to her again. My only regret was loosing my cool with her and not handling it better. Obviously that isn’t the attitude of all jws, it is just one example of the selfishness of some and what really drives them to…do good. I think the wt relies on it.

Have you heard this one-the end is very close, maybe 2 years

my good witness friend was trying to encourage me spiritually and this is what's being speculated among the witnesses.

how long was adam alone before eve was created, well at least 31 years so far.

1975 was the end of 6000 years of man's existence.. from 1975 to 2006, it is 31 years.. when was jesus ministry over?

Wait a min. It has accrued to me that the wt should be counting from the date of the first killing, for obvious reasons, rather then mans existence. So that would be 6129 years, which would schedule Armageddon at around the year 2104. So, we are all safe to go out and party, we will be resurrected.

charles taze russell was born in 1852 (february 16) in pittsburgh, pennsylvania.

he was raised in a strict presbyterian home.

1868 (age 16) in an encounter with a non-believer he became disillusioned over the subject of whether god as a heavenly father would burn his children in hell.

A now changed Russell starts his own Bible study group which elected him as "Pastor". In the course of these studies Russell discovered that Christ had returned invisibly in 1875. (Russel would have been 23 years old)

i'll even start it.

i loved some of the get-togethers we had.

Like your post. I have/had many good memories of growing up a jw, like the ones you posted. But, as time went on and I learned more and more I began to realize how really un-important I was as an individual belonging to that religion. A single sparrow falling to the ground carries more weight. That did some damage to my fond memories. Made them seem...fake somehow. But what the heck, a good memory is a good memory and that has to be worth something.

Hi blondie, I stopped listening to jw teachings of Armageddon for a few reasons but the main reason was due to the attitude that seemed to accompany it, that being exactly the essence of your post. It always struck a nerve with me that most jws, that I knew, seemed so concerned and preoccupied with behaving themselves because Armageddon was so close, just around the corner, rather then being concerned with behaving because it is just simply the right thing to do. The attitude struck me as quite self-centered.

Do you think you would still believe in religion or the bible if you had been anything other then a jw? Or was it the expierence as a jw that turned you off?
