im at my dads house at the moment and they have this dog thats 14 years old, and apparently this brand of dog has an average life expectancy of 10, so shes had a good innings.. now im not a dog owner, so its pretty easy for me to say i think they should put the dog down.

my dads wife is very sentimental about the dog.

i would say she was very attached to it, but for all her sentimentality, she has never walked the dog (its always been my dad) and she is not the one who gets up in the night with a mop and bucket - that'd be dad too.

I would be screaming at them to take that dog to the vet NOW! But that's me.

My dogs are my kids and I know how hard it is to make that decision but it MUST be made. Prolonging it is just cruel and downright selfish. No offense intended.

It is your dad’s dog so it must be his decision.

You could call the humane society anonymously and have them take the dog away.

What ended your first relationship?

i'm in a relationship now and its my first serious one.

she keeps telling me that she's scared because she believes i'll eventually get bored with her and start wondering how it feels like with other women.

so she wants me to hook up with other girls when she goes out of the country for the fall semester.. personally i dont want to, but this is making me wonder, in the average person's first ,serious relationship, whats the cause of the breakup?

I've been through enough personal "armageddon's" in life, that I'm finally done with wasting energy doubting myself, my worth or my ability to survive.

Amen to that SpazNik!

I worried more about it when I was still a dub then I do now. That is just too much wasted energy not to mention depressing.

i know most of you could care less, but for those of us who love dobes, this is a pretty big deal.. i am trying to adopt a 6 year old pure bread intact male who sounds like a gem..my boys are so excited.. the owner should be coming this weekend to drop her dogs and see how i do with them.

i am beside myself with joy at this point.

she has chosen me out of all who responded in florida.. please wish me luck!.

Good luck to you. I've had dobies myself over the years and they are great dogs when raised proper. I just recently added a rott puppy to the home and he is a total clown.
