Jesus that brings back sickening memories of the first, second, and third through 12th times I had to watch that ridiculous thing at various KM schools and CO visits.
I always said they could save us so much time just giving the elders a flow chart:

found out he was disfellowshipped, and he was trying to figure out how to make things work.
i am not a jw, and his family is not supportive of the relationship.

If you love each other and want to be together, you should definitely marry before he attempts to return. As long as he is dating an "unbeliever," he is never going to be reinstated. At that point, prepare yourself for a full court press to be indoctrinated into the religion. If you don't allow that to happen, he can technically still be a witness in good standing, and you would be viewed as an unbelieving mate. It wouldn't restrict him from association with other witnesses or his family. And you could be included as well.
All that having been said, if you go this route, you are in for a very unsettled life. Witnesses do not make anything easy, and are constantly into everyone else's business.
There is a lot of good advice given ahead of my post. I am certainly not recommending you pursue this relationship. Merely covering one technical aspect of how it works.
And it really depends on whether he is returning to the religion merely to get reinstated so he can have contact with his family again, or if he believes it and wants to dive back in headfirst. If it is the latter, RUN.

Repercussions for sexual immorality
by Veryconflicted inhello, i was hoping to get some clarification about how people are disciplined for immorality as a jw.
i became involved with a co-worker a few years ago, she was fairly aggressive and she initiated a physical relationship very quickly.
at the time i did not know she was married and a jw.

Moving on with your life should have nothing to do with confronting her family about her behavior. Perhaps you should get some counseling to help you deal with the loss of this woman you love in a way that would enable you to move on with your life and cope with the stress you are experiencing. Any attempt to contact her ex husband or involve her family in outing her as your lover is going to put you in the category of being a stalker. It's going to be interpreted as hurtful, vengeful, etc. She ended it. Not well, but she ended it. The question now is, how are you going to cope with that? That really should be your focus.
