The scientific community would perceive this as a warped philosophy for three reasons:
1. It is possible to screen blood and eliminate diseases and many health risks.
2. Biblical hermeneutics, the study of interpretation concerning the books of the Bible cannot always be assessed strictly through linguistics. Not according to the Bible anyway. Linguistics is the scientific study of human language. The “words of Jesus in red” may come to mind and many scriptures are fairly straightforward, but the Bible introduces the idea that “holy spirit” is required for a definitive understanding of the Bible.
We have not received the spirit of the world but the spirit which is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 1 Corinthians 2:12

3. The idea “that the soul of every sort of flesh is its blood,” the “sanctity” of blood in relation to formal injunctions regarding blood in the Bible. A concept similar to the sanctity of marriage in relation to fornication, a concept independent of health considerations.
Reasons two and three are concepts that refer to a transcendent or transcendental power or deity. Concepts relative to divinity vary significantly depending on which god is being discussed, but it all hinges on the existence of a supernatural realm, a realm beyond the natural world we perceive with our senses and can study by rational scientific methods.
Similar logic can be applied to adherents of the Qu'ran, that what is stated is subjective.

The basics of modern biology can be encompassed within five unifying principles: cell theory, evolution, genetics, homeostasis, and energy. Evolution (naturalism) as a central organizing concept in biology is that life changes and develops through evolution, and that all life-forms known have a common origin.
I haven't communicated with medical professionals about this, but do you think the conclusion of most in the scientific community, would be that Jehovah's Witnesses blood doctrine is based on idealism and a scriptural debate regarding the matter would be pointless? Not to mention, dissidents are not organized on concepts in biology accepted in the medical community.

Something like 80% of the world's oil reserves have already been nationalized. The commercial oil producers still have a lot of clout with the rest, but it's the sovereign oil producers that call the shots. Many of the nationalized companies don't respect intellectual property or patent law either. They'll take a product from a commercial company, send it off to the local machine shop, reverse-engineer it, and start making their own (often inferior) copies, and then shut out the commercial company altogether.
Where's the evidence that 80% of the world's oil reserves have already been nationalized? Middle eastern nations that have nationalized the resource? There are no intellectual property rights pertaining to oil. There may be innovative and technological strategies for unearthing the resource, but oil in itself is a basic commodity.

Give me a break... I've never needed anti-anxiety medications because I've never been that anxious. I can kick back with some Vicodin and a few beers, but Valium and Xanax does nothing but make me tired. -

Realistically, though, is it possible for us not to be anxious about our problems, decisions, obligations, and responsibilities? Millions of people feel depressed, distressed, and burdened. That is why tranquilizers and sedatives are a multimillion-dollar business.
The apostle Paul told us that in our spiritual warfare, we are endeavoring to bring “every thought into captivity to make it obedient to the Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5) Our archenemy, Satan the Devil, would be very pleased to capitalize on our worries in order to discourage us and to weaken us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. He is a master at using doubts to trap the unwary. That is why Paul also warned Christians not to “allow place for the Devil.” (Ephesians 4:27) As “the god of this system of things,” Satan has successfully “blinded the minds of the unbelievers.” (2 Corinthians 4:4) May we never allow him to control our minds! -

One night we were all eating dinner at my girlfriend's Dad's house and he wouldn't acknowledge my presence. I told my girlfriend about it and she ran downstairs to ask what the problem was. She came back upstairs and told me, “He said he doesn't like faggots. He said a lot of people won't like you if you want to live your life that way.” I literally started crying. She said, “If you're going to sulk like a fucking two year old, you can just leave.”
In 2005 I watched this movie.
I didn't necessarily agree with it from a moral prospective, but I found it highly entertaining. I started talking about the movie to people at the office and an evangelical conservative chimed and said, “You know what that's about. I would never watch that movie.” Everyone looked away from me. It embarrassed me and pissed me off. Six months later, the same woman got divorced and soon moved in with a man she wasn't married to. The Bible states this is wrong.
