Nice Pics!
Your license plate must be a talking point for JW's!
(They used the wrong term on the sign, WATCHTOWER is the magazine, WATCH TOWER is the corporation.)

pages 1744 thru 1746 feature a chart of the kings of the southern kingdom, ending with zedekiah in 607.. praise the new bible and all of the teaching aids .... draw attention to kings list and how convenient that is ... but, strangely, i decided to look up information in an encyclopedia about the different kings, and the dates are not the same ... so i checked a couple of sources and they are all different than the chart in the bible .... why would that be?.

check the comment section for jw raiden25256666 posts, he just called me an idiot lol.
The kid doesn't look like a very happy person if his picture is an accurate representation.
With all of the anti-jw videos he is watching and commenting on, it will all build and hit him one day. He's doing exactly what the GB doesn't want, he thinks he is defending truth while in reality he is filling his mind with things that will eat away at the foundation of his religion.
just wanted everyone to know that i got back today/night from my second jw funeral in less than 3 months and that both of them (2 different halls),were handled completely different than in times past.. used to be it seemed like a recruitment opportunity (as many of you have pointed out before), but these last two times it was totally different from previous times.
it didn't seem like they used the outline at all that had been posted in another thread a while back.. that was kinda interesting and refreshing at the same time to actually hear them focus more on the individual that had passed instead of only a few minutes about them and the rest all about the org.
(wt).
on the one hand, this is certainly a good thing, although I doubt it is organizational policy, if it were, we would see a letter from the Organization
on the other hand, in some ways the Organization is trying to put on a softer appearance now days, however, as long as they continue to influence so much control on friendships, education, shunning, etc., the softening in some areas just makes it easier for the mind to go along with the cult
i have just seen in the flesh , or paper , the new nwt .
my witness friends were delighted with it showing me all the new features like the glossary of terms and explanations of the hows and whys .
i did ask about actual content , acting daft not letting on that i knew anything about it .
My JW contact told me that all the bracketed words from the former JW Bible have been deleted because those weren't in the original manuscripts.
JWOP, If that is what your contact said, they didn't really understand the explanation as to why the brackets were removed.

I book that JW's love to refer to is Truth in Translation by Jason BeDuhn as it commends the New World Translation as one of the most accurate modern translations, however, he addresses the issue of Jehovah in the New Testament as being a deviation from being a literal translation as there are no fragments that support this decision.
Also, it is okay to refer to this work of BeDuhn as the Organization actually quotes the book in an Awake! article in support of the New World Translation.
so i brought this up in another thread... but i think it needs its own discussion.. having had one of the new grey leatherette and silver edged bibles with the new appendixes in my hand.
i immediately thought of all the custom covered nwt bibles you see some publishers sporting at meetings.
also the fact that the co's and wives who'd been given one had to turn it back in seemed very off-putting.. .
The [brackets] were removed from the hard cover edition, which is what was used for custom binding, while the deluxe edition and the reference Bible used the brackets.

Yes. We know that most entrenched JW's will come to the conclusion that every other source is influenced by Satan to discredit the truth as revealed through God's Organization, the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society Incorporated.
However, it seems it can be an innocent enough way to get a person to think. If introduced innocently, it may start the ball rolling, some will no doubt research the subject, it may be a seed added to past moments of cognitive dissonance or it may just be the first.
When I was mentally in, one of the projects I would think about from time to time was to look up historical references about dates, not to disprove JW, because I just assumed everything I was taught was correct, but to bolster my knowledge.
i`m just curious if this account is in their grey bible.
smiddy.
31 On that day they kept
striking down the Phi·lis′tines
from Mich′mash to Ai′ja·lon, and
the people became very tired.
32 So the people began rushing
greedily at the spoil, and they
took sheep and cattle and calves
and slaughtered them on the
ground, and they ate the meat
along with the blood. 33 So
it was reported to Saul: “Look!
The people are sinning against
Jehovah by eating meat with the
blood.” At this he said: “You
have acted faithlessly. Roll a
large stone to me immediately.”
34 Saul then said: “Spread
out among the people and say
to them, ‘Each of you must
bring his bull and his sheep and
slaughter them here and then
eat them. Do not sin against Jehovah
by eating meat with
the blood.’” So each of them
brought his bull with him that
night and slaughtered it there.
35 And Saul built an altar to Jehovah.
This was the first altar
he built to Jehovah.

Mention to the JW ... Here is a list of the kings from Jewish Virtual Library, why would a Jewish source have different dates concerning their own history? Isn't that odd? Maybe I should write the Organization and let them know the chart is wrong.
