Patreon as a platform and concept is in decline
I went to the button to report a creator for not fulfilling their promises. Went through the menus, and all I got was the option to contact the creator themselves and/or close my account.
So, no way of getting a refund even if you can prove they haven't fulfilled their promise. That's a really shitty business model but of course what do they care, they just want their % and people can go to hell if they don't like it.
But, with policies like that it's no wonder they're declining. Like AirBNB and so many, they start with a good idea but then it gets bloated and shitty policies get revealed and the bubble soon deflates or outright bursts.
As for the free memberships, I'm sure it's something Patreon rolled out and even if it wasn't automatic, no doubt he'd jump on it just to get bigger numbers and a locked-in audience. People probably signed up thinking they'd get something for it but turns out they get fuck all of nothing... hell, even people who pay him aren't getting shit these days!

as of this moment (nov. 6), he's at 427 paid members.. so, where do you think he'll be on december 2nd?

How many times now has he failed to fulfill his monthly Patreon promises? He went pretty much this entire month without doing a damn thing except one interview and an update on the India blast 3 weeks ago. No zoom calls, nothing else.
On top of being the most despicable, disgusting person alive with how he treats his wife and people in general.
And people still give him money. Money that could go to support a real charity. St. Jude helps children with cancer, World Central Kitchen provides people with hot meals all over the planet, and Lloyd fucks around with prostitutes while crapping out useless videos no one watches.
What a stupid world we live in.

Do we know he was alone? I have to wonder if it was someone giving him money versus someone saying "hey I'd love to hit up a nice hotel and bring in some hookers and get drunk and talk JW shit... just need someone to do that with." Whoever it is, what an embarrassing sucker, tossing money at someone who's lived off everyone else's dime for well over a decade now. Like JWs giving money to the governing booty, men who've never done a hard day's work in their life and who are sitting on millions if not billions from property sales alone.

He's touched by seeing new Patrons? Bullshit, he was at 427 patrons the beginning of this month, 425 or 426 right before he posted that, and then down to 422 after posting it.
He can promise all the renewed energy and videos all he wants but he's been doing the same thing for the last year and it's failed miserably. Every few months he's saying "Oh once I get back from recharging my batteries I plan on working harder than ever before!" and the exact opposite happens.
So yeah I'm sure we'll see a short-term surge in videos or whatever but he'll fizzle out just as quick especially now that he needs to do all the editing and other work himself.

So he takes 5-1/2 weeks to post something on Patreon (Oct. 17 to Nov. 23). In that time, he posted a voicemal call-in video, a video on the India blast, and two interviews.
So again, he's not even putting out 1 video a week as he said was his aim during his last whiny pity party.
I think he's gone beyond "his heart isn't in it anymore" and now he just outright hates it. JW stuff is boring and dull especially when compared to fucking around on your guitar and being on stage in clubs, even if they are tinier than a Manhattan apartment. He has to pretend to care about other people's stories for interviews, which was always difficult for him but now even more so since they're not bringing in the dollars. I think he made like $45 in superchat donations during his last interview...?
It is interesting that he lost like 3 or 4 patrons AFTER posting whatever he said above. His drop-off may be slowing down but his followers obviously just aren't buying his bullshit like they used to.
