  The wonder of scientific research

  this has possibly been brought up before however here goes.. constant reference is made by many posters to scientific research as being the only way to prove something factual that would otherwise have to be taken on faith.

  there actually seems to be "faith" in scientific findings.. my experience over many years is that most scientific research is fake.

  nothing oftencomes of the big announcements made to raise more money.. money, prestige, pride, human error, suppositions etc., are rife amongst the scientific community.. i realise that there have been many advances over hundreds of years but humankind is in a mess, although very different to even a century ago.. the medical profession now has vaccinations for everything, antiviral drugs etc.

  Maybe I am just ranting about nothing but I do read all the time that scientific research does or does not support this or that in the Bible or beliefs or whatever.

  If I get no response to this I wouldn't be in the least surprised!

  Looking for shunning video

  so there is in now infamous "worst convention ever" video.

  but there are 2 more i am looking for if possible.. 1) at a fairly recent service meeting, there was a "new" shunning video.

  i remember it was from the mothers perspective, and in the end she is like "its been 5 years now......" .

  Last time I looked the second one is on rutube.ru in two parts. WTS how to treat sinners should find it. I thought Cedars put it onyoutube in one part.

  I've tried different images, they are either sideways or upside down. I'll leave it like this for now as I don't make many comments. When I have time I will work on it or better still have one of my daughters or grandson fix it. I'm not computer illiterate just lazy and enjoying some real retirement since I left jws six months ago.

  I' m still in bed on a cool rainy Queensland spring morning at 10am, went downstairs earlier and got a big hug from my wife (still in but OK with my decision). She said I was nice and warm ( maybe a suggestive comment!) made myself a hot coffee and chocolate drink and went back to bed to write this. I actually feel really good today which certainly isn't the case all the time as we all know about the emotional turmoil. Thanks all!

  Thanks everyone for the help and the humour. The picture is on an iPad so rotation seems to be it. I was wondering about the Australia factor myself.

  the opening query is presented, loosely, in the past tense, assuming that you are not currently a reader of watchtower publications.. not that i'm already rather certain of your reply, it's just that i would like to know if in your english-speaking country (or esl [english as second language]) the society deigned to tailor the publications to your spellings, expressions, idiomatic renderings, etc.

  Going beyond what Zeb said the number of English speakers worldwide, not just in Commonwealth countries, far exceeds those using USA English. My wife and I had a guide on a trip to the Mekong Delta from Saigon some years ago who spoke almost perfect English. I also remember reading about those who cried when they read "the truth" in their own language. I often wished for the same. No offence to anyone and just my thoughts.

  Hello L.U. Lots of us pommies on here. I assume you have checked out Jw.facts and Cedars videos on YouTube etc. by now. A good daily feed of exjw material keeps me from getting down.

  just curious but how do the people off this forum find reddit.

  for myself i find reddit to be sadly lacking in the jw world.

  i just don't find the depth there e.g one sentence replies, trying to be funny.
