Few JW leader have children
by slimboyfat init’s been discussed before that few jw leaders, past and present, have had children.
this is in contrast with other groups, such as the mormons, whose leaders have had a lot of children.
i wonder if this has impacted jw growth.

Most true believers thought it was wrong to have kids.
i remember older ones in the congregation I grew up in frowned upon a couple having a baby. Why would you have a baby when we are shortly before the last day of the last days?
most of those babies are grown up and having more babies themselves now 🤮

Reddit thread Warning young JWs that ‘Spiritual Goals’ are Not a Career!
by LongHairGal inas somebody who worked full-time when i was in the witness religion, this topic naturally caught my eye.. many of the responses are heartfelt.
there are about 90 at this point.
from what i read so far.. many are people who woke up before they got old but even these are resentful over their life being derailed with wasted time pursuing spiritual goals and having to start over at a later age getting an education/job.. i imagine born-in young jws would be most susceptible to this.. in today’s world, a ‘career’ is something that earns you a living.. as many of the responses there will say: anybody who pursues ‘spiritual goals’ only will end up with wasted time in the end with no money and no retirement plan… i couldn’t agree more.. it would be a shame if this happens to yet more jws..

The crazy thing is the ‘new light’ this year is to plan for retirement 😮
what about all those poor pioneers past middle age or even in old age who made a career working for free all their lives and only now get told you should have planned for retirement????
what if you pioneered straight from school back in the 1960s or 70s? You were one of those on the platform at the Assembly saying you turned down this good career offer and got a cleaning job a couple of days per week to pioneer??????
now you are old and tired you feel deceived that the end was right around the corner decades ago. There was never any direction to plan for retirement. Now that you are almost at retirement age there is suddenly out of nowhere some new light in watchtower to plan for retiring. WHAT!!!!!
it’s a bit late now, I’ve sacrificed everything to pioneer because I was told millions now living who saw 1914 would never die! Then they said ok they have all died but there is an overlapping generation. Still most of the overlapping generation who knew ones who saw 1914 are getting very old now.
what are all these pioneers supposed to do if they have no plan for retirement and cost of living is going through the roof????

don’t know if anybody here has seen the video.. the intended result of this is to obviously scare ‘faders’ out of the shadows.
now, they are being threatened with loss of association with their loved ones and friends.

find out that now you are too old to start over too and you have been robbed of more years of your own life.
This is not true if you are mentally agnostic you don’t waste any time or effort in the congregation . You just go because it’s a nice social club.
Just get all the nice things from being part of the congregation this is true of many many religions where people don’t fully believe all adoption but they go for the social care aspects

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

There’s been many other others who used to be ignited and then they decided it wasn’t the truth. They drifted away after taking the emblems for many years.
The official story was they were never ignited. They were lying about it but with a former governing body member who is a prominent governing body member for many years I don’t think they could see that he wasn’t really ignited. He definitely was according to the doctrine and now he’s not.

Many large multigenerational JW families have family members only staying physically in for other family members. When the parents die, the other members are starting to fade.
they are openly talking about things at the funerals that the only reason they stayed physically in was because of the elderly parents who just died.
its as if they didn’t want to tell their elderly parents they didn’t believe the GB anymore. If they did it would be very cruel for an elderly one to hear just before they die.
this is probably true all around the world. Sunk cost fallacy and not wanting elderly relatives to understand they have wasted their lives believing something that was lies.
siblings can now openly talk about how they were mislead into making decisions decades ago based on the lie that the end would come soon.
now they are elderly themselves
no wonder this convention is trying to do damage control but it’s backfiring.
all the changes that you can now talk to disfellowshiped ones, but they are saying cut off those who are physically in but mentally questioning

People both in and out have noticed, do less, care less. It’s become more of a social club in most congregations and the rules that govern even amongst the elders would once have been considered by grown-ins only appropriate for the spiritually weak and morally loose.
This is so true. It’s just a social club very lighthearted compared to years gone by.
anything goes, as long as they don’t rub the elders face in it, birthdays are almost a thing but they call them happy days and maybe have it a day or so either side of the actual birthday.
all the things that I remember from the 1970s and 80s are all out the window now.
young people are leaving in droves and they are desperate to try and get them to stay
its almost impossible for a young one to get expelled these days

Post Covid where we are now is that we know the vaccine was very very harmful and it was wrong to say it was safe
Post Cedars gate he is now stuck in a country which he doesn’t speak the language on his own in a cheap little flat. His children have a new stepdad and they seem to be thriving.
Tony Morris the third still hasn’t surfaced. We still have no idea what went happened.
