Is a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses marries a disfellowshipped person, what is the outcome?

hello all.. i need a quick answer, and also a solid reference in the literature, please.. if a jw marries an unbeliever, there is reproof, it's frowned upon, it's disloyal, there will be loss of privileges, etc, but there's no other more serious consequences.

but, in a scenario where two people are free to marry, but one is a baptized jw and the other is disfellowshipped / disassociated, what are the consequences?.

It would be the same as a baptised person marrying someone not baptised. It actually happens a lot these days. The elders will tell them all the scriptures about only marriage in the lord and all that.

if they are good elders and they can see this person is so lonely and hasn’t been able to find anyone in the religion. If they are really in love and would be so much happier getting married to this person then I hope good elders would see the situation for what it is.

the old school bad elders would maybe try to threaten with marking or restricting answering up and things like that. But they now know those things don’t have any effect at all.

This just shows the territory is not getting done. All COs in London are asking why is there still virgin territory that has never been done since it was built? Why are you not getting around your maps?

the answer is because JWs are not doing more than 10mins door to door before coffee break.

covid changed everything. Zoom was enjoyable with the excuse saying we are writing letters but we were not doing that. We were just enjoying chatting together on zoom.

now nobody wants to go door to door. Everyone hates it especially young ones who fear calling on school friends.

this campaign in London will still not get the territory done, many will fancy a little holiday in London visiting these congregations.

there will be a good turn out at all the groups and there will be some great gatherings for coffee breaks. It will be a good social life for all involved.

but there will not be all that much door to door work done and the territory will still not be getting covered like it used to

this is basically the same as watchtower teach that jesus is so much like his father in every way that you could almost call them the same.. things have changed from when i was pioneering with the old trinity brochure.

Can you openly express doubts in the congregation these days?

i know of a lovely old sister who has been a jw for several decades now who openly expresses doubts about jw interpretations.. she does it in such a lovely way and everyone loves her.

she is such a sweet old soul, makes everyone happy around her.. she has said things like- even if we have got it wrong about this and that i still believe the bible is gods word”.

she answers up regularly and she goes on ministry groups but like most of us she is definitely jwlite, we don’t really do door to door work anymore.

I posted on my FB AGAINST the jabs and some of the "friends" were seeking the elders on me.

I have to confirm that things have indeed changed. There are many now who openly talk about the vaccines were not safe and they don’t get called into the back room. Otherwise they would need a bigger back room. It would be full after every meeting.

You can openly voice concerns about the vaccines now. I am.

They have experienced numerous health issues since including a major surgery for her. She acknowledges the GB was wrong to push them but still keeps saying they’re just imperfect men and this is still Gods true organization 🙄🙄

Yes I have found two different ways JWs cope with the GB vaccine issue.

1. The GB never actually direct us to take the vaccine they always said it’s a matter of personal choice.

2. Yes the GB did direct us to take it but they are just imperfect men trying to do their best and this turned out to be a mistake.

The truth is they clearly did give wrong direction when they should have stayed neutral. They were the ones who caused division. I suspect this was probably one of the most divisive directions the GB have ever given with the most numbers of JWs writing in than any other direction they have given.

This is part of the reason for so many radical changes recently and I guess a lot more to come.

I do remember when I was a boy, exactly what the highlighted part said being talked about a lot.

Doctor Spock who was one of the experts at the time wrote his first book saying don’t hit your child at all. Then he updated his view saying “the only thing that book was good for was to hit your child with it.”

yes he really said that I can’t find it now maybe the internet is trying to hide it but I remember it clearly being talked about in the congregation.

JWs had to defend their stance on hitting children. They thought it was Satans world who said don’t hit them and Jehovah wants you to hit them. Of course they put it another way and use that scripture about not sparing the rod.

They have flip flopped these days saying it’s the rod of discipline and not literally hitting them with a rod.

but when I was young it was understood to be a literal rod, I remember talks about it and the general feeling that they were right, they were so sure of it. All those parents in Satans world had it wrong not to hit their children and we are so grateful to have Jehovah to tell us to hit your children and they will thank you for it when they grow up. Well I’m grown up and I don’t thank my dad for hitting me so much

I have always noticed and admired in a way how the branch office has its own version of reality. Everyone else is a guest in their reality.

As an elder of many years myself I often noticed an official request or even a legal demand to something that I personally would not question or delay in getting it done. But the branch does not comply or even reply sometimes.

I was surprised at the time, I didn’t even think that was an option to not reply and keep ignoring the letters.

The branch office really does have its own reality and everyone else just has to accept that. If they say they are like a piece of music that can be in the page when it suits and they want free money from the government but then they are like music that can’t be recorded when they don’t want to take responsibility for anything they don’t like

Its in all the papers. All the news everywhere has had this as one of the top stories. The Metro in London has a big spread with lots of opinions. They think the new woke agenda conscription will not work.

They say the woke these days if called up for conscription would want to have gender neutral clothes be wrapped up in cotton wool, stay in bed until they felt like getting up and then winge and cry that it’s not fair the Russians are shooting at us🤣

Hard times create hard men, then hard men create soft time. Soft times create soft men and then soft men create hard time and the cycle repeats.

We have a society of soft men now and next comes hard times.

Here in the UK all the papers and news is talking about conscription coming back.

I think the situation is far worse than most realise and war between east and west is inevitable. It’s kind of already started but in a couple of years it will be clear. UK&USA plus Israel and their allies against Russia&China and the Muslim countries plus their allies.

m China are waiting for the West to run out of resources fighting for Ukraine and the Middle East problems before they choose the ideal time to retake Taiwan.

Yes there will be a conscription in most countries. There will be alternatives like working in hospitals or firefighting.

Or go to prison which many brothers will do because they feel working in other area’s support the war effort.

I can see this in a few years from now
