Some hope is better than no hope.
I know a couple who have an extremely shy daughter in her late 20s. She cant really talk to anyone apart from a few old sisters in the congregation.
The old couple have hope she will snap out of it and marry one day, or at least live a relatively normal life where she doesn’t need to hide behind her mum.
they have tried everything they can think of even expert doctors and therapists now all they have is some hope.
this may be a poor example but many of us still physically in the JWs still have a bit of hope that there is a God and the promises in the Bible may have some truth to them even though the JWs interpreted them wrong.

If Watchtower really is now teaching that it’s not necessary to accept the truth and become a JW before the great tribulation, then what’s the point of being JW? I mean apparat from if you enjoy it, if it has no bearing on whether you’ll ultimately survive Armageddon then what’s to stop people taking the option of sitting back and waiting?
Why would they make this change? I can’t think of any financial or legal motivation, as behind so many of their changes, so why do it? It doesn’t make any sense.
Yes I think Simon is right it’s to do with the question “so is God going to slaughter everyone who is not a JW?”

They might have gotten feedback that recruitment is harder because of people reasoning that God is really an asshole if he's going to be killing a shit-ton of people who never had a chance to learn "the truth".
Religiots have no winning argument when it comes to addressing this issue.
People generally find psychopathic killers unappealing. It's an easier sell that he's a "loving god" (the fundamental cornerstone of the whole belief system) if he gives people a chance
They always said there will be a resurrection of the unrighteous now they are saying you don’t have to die before Armageddon as unrighteous ones may make it through.
Lloyd thinks this huge fundamental new light is a nothing burger.
he is an idiot for saying that

From my sources, it appears that if any questions are asked, the COs will verbally communicate to whoever questions this that there is no additional document indicating that a vaccination requirement is mandatory.
Until U turn on mandates they have to keep fully vaccinated
There are many of us elders who were not allowed to go as we’re not vaccinated.
Next elders school will be the same until they officially do a U turn on the mandate
until it official COBEs will keep asking are you upto date with boosters before your next KM school?
my COBE knows I didn’t take any clots shots so it will be interesting to see if I’m allowed to go to next school
until U turn is official have to keep getting latest clot shoot

Door to door has been scaled back to almost nothing. Tens mins is topical then coffee break.
these days it’s more about getting together before and after the ten mins preaching.
We have a hybrid zoom/in person ministry group 10:30am. People meet up on zoom starting 10 for a good old chat. Then those arrive in person to chat to those on zoom. The group starts at 10:30 for ten mins to chat about a scripture then prayer then chat for another half an hour about who is working with who.
then we say goodbye to those on zoom who are supposed to be letter writing but they just chat.
Some in person go to door to door but most say they are going’on calls’ or street witnessing
then we all meet up for lunch at someone’s home, whoever’s turn it is. Everyone brings interesting food from all over the world. There is always lots of left overs
the zoom lot join in back with us and we catch up on the gossip whatever they have been chatting about.
the ministry aspect really is just an excuse for a social club.

So from now on those attending pioneer schools and SKE will no longer have to go and get latest boosters.
It a bit late as usual. Jehovahs chariot is so slow and always late.
These old men haven’t got a clue, they have been in a bubble for decades and are now trying to claim the direction is from Jehovah.
All this time everyone attending any of their schools had to go and get latest clot shots. They were so arrogant saying “would Jehovah really let the governing body and all full time servants take this vaccine if it was harmful?”
this is a good question and now we know the vaccine is harmful you wish you hadn’t asked that question David Splain?

In the past apostates could come back, but these days the internet is a more permanent situation.
I doubt someone who made apostate content and did not remain anonymous could ever come back. The CO would consult the branch and they would keep saying no.

I’m also doubting this document is legit. The elders school in London still had some who could not attend as they refuse the vax.
is there a way to find out if this is bogus or not?

That is what religion does -- it gives people "HOPE" -- even if nothing tangible ever proves true.
Yes and this is better than no hope. I’m agnostic about the Bibles promises but I have hope that atheists don’t have.

I also found it interesting they talk about brother fred franz and show his picture. Do they think most JWs today don’t know or forgot about the other brother Ray Franz his relative who wrote the book crisis of conscience?
I find the subject of hope without disappointment fascinating. I’m physically in mentally agnostic. I still have hope in the Bibles promises but I don’t think JWs interpretation is correct.
So I think it is possible to have hope and still be agnostic this way you will be far less disappointed than PIMIs
