  on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.

  a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.

  in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

  The silence is deafening. This was a serious project to keep a lid on this, some effort and a lot of money has been put in.

  they think it will go away but the longer they kick the can the worse it will be when it hits the wall

  If you have a van or big SUV, you can make that your temp home in case shit hits the fan. You can drive a few hours away, sleep in it, keep emergency items in it, and get away from crowds who will exhaust resources

  Yep, this is the JW plan. Everyone takes with them their go bags and the reasonable amount of food and supplies that every JW has been told to get.

  First we all go to our KHall if that is an option but if not every congregation has an emergency RV.

  It’s usually a large retail estate with large car parks. Each group with 16 or so people so maybe 3 or 4 vehicles have been assigned different general parking areas so as to spread out and not draw attention.

  the group overseers and their assistants are to make sure everyone is accounted for.

  then the disaster relief committees will give directions what to do next. Most probably go to nearest congregations that have not been affected by the disaster whatever it was.

  So in the summer you can even give a part without jacket and tie

  also good clarity on taking ministry groups no need for jacket and tie

  we didn’t know what the new light meant about this. One brother in a casual sweater was to take the min group after Sundays meeting. Someone said no you have to wear a tie on the platform so he stood down with the handheld mic not on the platform 😅

  now we know it’s ok for min groups or if it’s hot

  Mikejw: JWs are actually very good at this. Perhaps the best international organisation at looking after their own.

  That is a very narrow category. Most international organizations do not limit themselves to only helping a very small and very specific group of people, or even just prioritizing them. So they are the best in a category that doesn't have many members because it doesn't make them look particularly good

  You may be right if you put it like that it sounds selfish.

  but This is why they are the best disaster preparedness group to be a part of.

  they kind of try to work good towards all but 99.9% to those related to them in the faith

  We should all have go bags and a plan in the event of needing it.

  It’s better to be part of a group who look after each other than be a lone wolf.

  JWs are actually very good at this. Perhaps the best international organisation at looking after their own.

  They are almost always the first in with aid and the last out after rebuilding work.

  Or if the situation is so bad that you have to leave your country then you will have those related to you in the faith ready to welcome you into their homes in other countries.

  This is a good reason to stay physically in, even if you are mentally out or agnostic.

  Similar to the Hospital liaison committee being such a help and you getting better medical care and being so well looked after with lots of visits and help if you go into hospital. Many stay physically in for these benefits even if they are agnostic as to if God exists.

  They don’t feel so alone and they feel safer with these trained brothers talking to their doctors and the doctors feel they can’t take so many short cuts on JWs as they are being checked up on.

  If it really comes to that need blood then take it rather than dying, but you generally get better care if they know they can’t just pump blood into you so easily

  there are assignments on the life and ministry school now where they are suggested to just talk to people without giving a witness.. they are supposed to practice starting conversations with strangers and listening to them to talk about whatever they want to talk about .

  there is an assignment this week where the conversation ends without giving a witness.

  jws don’t look like jws anymore and now they don’t actually preach.. you could get bearded men with sweaters or other such tops and women in pants or slacks coming upto you in the park or on the street and starting a conversation with you.. then you hear them listening to you and talking about whatever they think that you wanted to talk about .

  I don't get it. You mean they will try and strike up a conversation about whatever I am interested in? So I want to talk recipes or politics

  Yes that’s exactly what they do now and then pat themselves on the back thinking they are doing what Jesus told them to do.

  I think the idea is indeed to build rapport and after enough time invite them to the meetings.

  the numbers are desperate. Hardly any new ones coming into the org and 2 out of 3 born ins are leaving.

  this new informal non witnessing is a desperate measure as what they were doing just wasn’t working

  simply packing snacks, cash, important papers, photos, and laptops, and then driving 100+ miles away to hang out in a comfy hotel with a restaurant is our idea of a disaster plan

  Sounds very similar to JWs disaster preparedness.

  they say pack go bags with those things and then travel to nearest congregations that are not affected by the disaster and they will look after you.

  The branch office will send trucks with provisions if needed.

  then the branch will see what can be done about rehousing those who need it.

  there are local disaster relief groups all around the world with lots of willing volunteers.

  you wouldn’t even know they were JWs.

  what would be hilarious is if JWs from different congregations actually did this new informal approach on each other in parks or on the streets and they both didn’t know they were JWs😂

  so JWs still meet for ministry groups and these days stay for a long time at the place where they meet, it’s almost a case of having a coffee break together before they go out.

  then they do about ten mins or so door to door taking no more not at homes because they don’t write anything down anymore, then they go and do informal witnessing and many skip the ten mins door to door.

  informal witnessing is not actually witnessing now it’s just talking to people about whatever is in their mind

  then back to someone’s home for coffee break and everyone brings homemade food.

  it’s now just a social club for lonely people with empty lives. The Bible is a self help book that is an excuse for the social club and there is hope that the Bibles promises of God setting up a kingdom that will wipe out every tear in their eyes, and no more pain or suffering.

  this is just an excuse for the social club to have a common interest.

  the ministry groups every day are just the social club activities so that you feel you have purpose and feel useful like you are doing something

  The 'Go Bags"! oh I can't even tell you how damn ridiculous my jw is about his 'go bag'. He was traveling for a bit a few years back and didn't go anywhere without it . He even wanted to get me one, cause at heart he is a nice guy. However, if you saw my pantry you would stifle a giggle as did I

  The go bags are not be ridiculed. You can’t take your garden or your pantry with you. Maybe JWs got this one right, I think everyone should follow JW ideas on go bags and every year go over them all replace old with new food and water.

  JWs also say to have a reasonable amount of food and provisions stored up but just bear in mind whatever situation you need your go bags for may mean you have to bug out and No knowing if or when you can return home
