JW light Elders?

so many elders are now saying no to pretty much everything.. they are saying no to assignments and away talks.

saying no to jobs in the cong.

the cos and the super fine elders are using scripture and the elders manual to try to persuade them to step up.. many are coming off as an elder, but even more are simply saying the cost of living or other reasons they are just finding it hard to fulfill all their assignments.. if you say you want to come off the public talks list altogether they still try putting you down for some and making a fuss saying you have to give some public talks.

This is so true, Quiet resistance. It’s as if some of these elders don’t even realise themselves they are participating in Quiet resistance.

they are subconsciously objective to the direction. They have in the back of their mind something that tells them this can’t be the truth.

1914 doctrine is the very foundation and if that is wrong then everything built on that is not sound.

But then on another level they feel they would have wasted all their lives, and they wouldn’t know what to believe if they actually left JWs.

so they stay and put those doubts into a box. But sometimes that box opens and they think for themselves instead of blindly following directions

I know because he said he has in the most arrogant way. Saying he won’t be releasing all the communications between them as if these MPs are ever going to talk to him when they know who he is and what he has done.

other exJW YouTubers are also writing to these MPs. Wally also said he reaching out to them. Someone like him would be far better to talk to them

So this MP stands up in the House of Commons and says JWs need to be investigated or something and Lloyd seems to think they need to talk to him.

he is so full of himself he thinks he is the one they need to talk to

he has written to both of them

we all need to tell them how Lloyd is and about why the ExJW community want to distance themselves from this creep

Predictions for the next decade?

as it’s nearly the new year my prediction over the next decade or so will see the sense of urgency dwindle.

then some huge huge changes.

for example by 2034 in a decades time, they will have address the 1914 issue and will come out and say we can’t be dogmatic.

As the numbers of disfellowshiped people are way smaller than those who become inactive and fade away, I wager that the faders are still believers (at varying levels of course), which would help explain the various surveys stating the larger JW population numbers.

Yes it’s a very clever new strategy.

JW light has veering levels. There are many who do still go to the occasional meetings and do occasionally go on the ministry but they was consider themselves JW light. There are even more very seldom go to meetings or Ministry groups. They are definitely JW light they’re just getting on with their lives but they occasionally go to the meeting occasionally even answer up go to the Ministry groups but they don’t do any first call first call is definitely over that part of the ministry is pretty much over hardly anybody does it even the pioneers don’t do it?

I would say that the majority of the 8 or 9 million so-called JW’s are actually JW light and over half of them are super light JW’s they just don’t do much at all

I don’t think the video is as it is made out on here. There is no mention of shunning doubters. It’s obviously saying be careful but those doubters will not be shunned.

These days it’s all about love and sympathy. They will get love bombed even more and the elder will make it a point to invite them out a lot and even assign some to go spend time with then

i just read this.

don’t know if anybody here has seen the video.. the intended result of this is to obviously scare ‘faders’ out of the shadows.

now, they are being threatened with loss of association with their loved ones and friends.

Anyone who believes this way has never been outside of the JW bubble. It's a social club where suspicion is the most prevalent feeling. Not warmth, not camaraderie. You know that the people around you --who are treating you like best friends and closest family-- will do a complete 180 and turn their backs on you ("for your own good") the moment they learn that you're not 100% loyal.

Nope this is the old way.

so many who have been out for a long time just have no idea how much things have changed.

its now a prevailing theme to not expect too much of others and hope they don’t expect too much of you.

and then they go on and on about not expecting too much from yourself.

everything is lighter it’s all getting easier, and more sympathetic.

the elders get loads of training at the elders schools to be sympathetic and not expect too much.

Is there a new rule regarding disfellowshipped people?

does anyone have any information about a relaxing of the rules regarding family reaching out to disfellowshipped members?.

i've heard of an elder being openly in touch with a long time disfellowshipped family member.

apparently the term 'compassionate view' had been bandied about.. i can't find anything relating to this.. i'd be interested what the new rule is in when came into play.. hotb .

The big change is that it used to be the case that the disfellowshipped person would have to contact the eldest and ask them and they would have to make effort and show the elders that they wanted to come back

The change now is at the elders are to all the chasing after three months the elders have to beg the disfellowship person to come back.

it has taken so long for this change for for such a long time now the person had to beg and grovel to the elders and you lose all dignity and sometimes the elders would still say no. You have to wait a bit longer and show us we tell you what you have to do.

Now they are really struggling at retaining numbers so now the elders have to do all the chasing to try and get people to come back every CEO visit the circuit overseer will scolded the elders. Why haven’t you done enough chasing all these ones leaving begging them to come back after three months.

there is a lot of exjws who have been out 10-20-30-50 years, but for some reason, when they see a group of jehovah's witnesses, sitting by their carts, drinking coffee, scrolling through phones, laughing, something inside happens.

most can't explain it.

some say it makes their blood boil.

apparently the new regional convention covers this a lot. It is widely being talked about inside congregations.

if you ever say that you don’t think the governing body are who they say they are then it’s different to being PIMA, it’s very serious matter to be PIMO the elders will have you in the back room

But if you are PIMA - just say you doubt or you’re not sure if the governing body are who they claim to be, it’s a different matter

You can now openly say that you are agnostic you are having doubts if Jehovah exists or not but you can stay in the congregation. You won’t be marked. You won’t be out in the back room. In fact you’ll be loved bombed and invited out even more.
