  I don’t think the video is as it is made out on here. There is no mention of shunning doubters. It’s obviously saying be careful but those doubters will not be shunned.

  These days it’s all about love and sympathy. They will get love bombed even more and the elder will make it a point to invite them out a lot and even assign some to go spend time with then

  i just read this.

  don’t know if anybody here has seen the video.. the intended result of this is to obviously scare ‘faders’ out of the shadows.

  now, they are being threatened with loss of association with their loved ones and friends.

  Anyone who believes this way has never been outside of the JW bubble. It's a social club where suspicion is the most prevalent feeling. Not warmth, not camaraderie. You know that the people around you --who are treating you like best friends and closest family-- will do a complete 180 and turn their backs on you ("for your own good") the moment they learn that you're not 100% loyal.

  Nope this is the old way.

  so many who have been out for a long time just have no idea how much things have changed.

  its now a prevailing theme to not expect too much of others and hope they don’t expect too much of you.

  and then they go on and on about not expecting too much from yourself.

  everything is lighter it’s all getting easier, and more sympathetic.

  the elders get loads of training at the elders schools to be sympathetic and not expect too much.

  Is there a new rule regarding disfellowshipped people?

  does anyone have any information about a relaxing of the rules regarding family reaching out to disfellowshipped members?.

  i've heard of an elder being openly in touch with a long time disfellowshipped family member.

  apparently the term 'compassionate view' had been bandied about.. i can't find anything relating to this.. i'd be interested what the new rule is in when came into play.. hotb .

  The big change is that it used to be the case that the disfellowshipped person would have to contact the eldest and ask them and they would have to make effort and show the elders that they wanted to come back

  The change now is at the elders are to all the chasing after three months the elders have to beg the disfellowship person to come back.

  it has taken so long for this change for for such a long time now the person had to beg and grovel to the elders and you lose all dignity and sometimes the elders would still say no. You have to wait a bit longer and show us we tell you what you have to do.

  Now they are really struggling at retaining numbers so now the elders have to do all the chasing to try and get people to come back every CEO visit the circuit overseer will scolded the elders. Why haven’t you done enough chasing all these ones leaving begging them to come back after three months.

  there is a lot of exjws who have been out 10-20-30-50 years, but for some reason, when they see a group of jehovah's witnesses, sitting by their carts, drinking coffee, scrolling through phones, laughing, something inside happens.

  most can't explain it.

  some say it makes their blood boil.

  apparently the new regional convention covers this a lot. It is widely being talked about inside congregations.

  if you ever say that you don’t think the governing body are who they say they are then it’s different to being PIMA, it’s very serious matter to be PIMO the elders will have you in the back room

  But if you are PIMA - just say you doubt or you’re not sure if the governing body are who they claim to be, it’s a different matter

  You can now openly say that you are agnostic you are having doubts if Jehovah exists or not but you can stay in the congregation. You won’t be marked. You won’t be out in the back room. In fact you’ll be loved bombed and invited out even more.

  How could anyone defend someone who betrayed his wife and kids with drugs and prostitution? How could you possibly defend that?

  if anyone reads the letters and his sexting underage girls there is no way anyone would ever defend him.

  He had specifically asked for 576 pledges. The die is cast regardless of the activity or inactivity of this thread. No matter what stunts he pulls to get the numbers up, the results are only fleeting and they will always return to roughly 1/3rd of what he was or less. A day of reckoning should be upon him soon as he enters a time in his life where he needs to seriously plan for retirement. Is 319 + whatever he gets from YT going to be enough?

  He has basically been retired for years now.

  how much work is involved making a lame video every week or so?

  those 300 fools who send him money will get less and less. He is in a country that he doesn’t speak the language what will he do?

  Someone put the magazines through my door a number of years ago. I felt embarrassed about how dumbed down they had become. No long articles with in-depth studying. Instead simply written short paragraphs with cartoons!

  Now I feel the same perplexity with this change. Thankfully it’s of no personal concern but as an outsider to the org I can only think of the stalwart brothers and sisters I knew as a child who were real bible students of the old school. They would not recognise the Society the way it is now. It is a completely different religion (although they used to claim not to be a religion because they had the Truth).

  You are right, it’s a completely different religion now. All those previously disfellowshipped ones can be talked to after all. What about all the children who were distanced from their parents by the GB doctrine?

  can they just say ok we got it wrong but now we have it right?

  Now we can talk to them.

  Now you can just get disfellowshipped for 90 days and come back.

  things are falling apart for the GB
