Please bear in mind that you don't owe the witnesses any explanation. Your doubts and thoughts are best kept to yourself in case you get labelled an apostate. Avoid any conversations with the elders. Just stop doing the things you donlt want to do. The best way to exit is by being 'spiritually weak' and fade away. Good luck. -

The two elders threaten my sister again
by opusdei1972 inas i reported here in this forum, some time ago, my sister was constantly harried by two elders so as to be submitted to a judiciary committee for apostasy.
these two elders were constantly hounding her in the street when she walks to go to her job.
so she had to send them a notary letter in which she wrote that she would attend the judiciary committee only with her attorney.

If they have 'evidence' of apostasy, then any restraining orders, contacting the police, lawyer's letters etc will only confirm their view and she will probably be df'd in her absence.
If they are convening a committee and she's desperate not to get df'd then the only realistic option is to attend, deny everything and be 'spiritually weak'.

Politically Correct Wasteland
by freemindfade inthis was a comment i made from another post, but i would like to hear some people discuss this.
i know the social justice warriors will scream i'm some sort of trump supporter for what i say even though i don't agree with his ideas and no i am not voting for him... i accept this is a go to for them.. i think we have fallen into a pc vacuum.. criticizing someones religion = racism!.
telling someone to not be so sensitive = misogyny!.

The real reason Chelmsford hasn't been stopped
by Saltheart Foamfollower ini haven't seen this mentioned yet.
last year in the uk, shortly after the money grab that everyone had, we had a video and letter (both probably still available from atlantis) appealing for money for the new bethel and slips were handed out etc.
this means that most uk congregations are sending a regular donation specifically for the chelmsford build.

The global preaching work will not stop even thought the governments will try.
If you thnk the UK government has cabinet meetings discussing the perils of a couple of people wandering round waving watchtowers then you maybe need to think again.

Stay out of topics you don't agree with and ask that people stay out of yours if they don't agree with you.
Mmmm, have you been using the internet long? ;)

I suspect there are going to be secret bunkers in many Bethels around the world, that is why most are moving away from cities and in the countries. No, they're relocating from the city because they've realised they can release a lot of equity by selling expensive city property/land and relocating and rebuilding in a much cheaper area.
Nothing to do with underground bunkers!

I remember on one of the builds, a brother got caught sticking his finger up another brothers bum.
It wasn't my proudest moment, I'll admit. :(

There's an awful lot of baseless supposition in this thread - there is currently nothing at all to suggest that the WTS 'hide' money in any way. -

Reminder about language and content
by Simon inwhile the vast majority of posts that the majority of posters share are perfectly fine (which we appreciate) i've noticed we have a few cases where bad language, crude innuendo and outright misogyny is creeping in.. this is not acceptable.. we're not certainly not prudish and neither are we going to enforce puritanical rules - sometimes a politically incorrect joke is funny as hell and sometimes strong language is justified.
but often times content is completely out of place and cannot be justified.. so, please don't post crude content or use expletives just to be "shocking".
it's childish and immature and won't be tolerated.. thank you to all the people this has nothing at all to do with..

Here is how I see it. Imagine if, during that time in which you were turned off by "apostates", you got into a horrible car wreck (knock on wood) and you still kept your "no-blood card" in your wallet. They respected the "no-blood card" and let you die, right there, on the operating table. Horrible, right?
Well, imagine you had not been turned off by "apostates". Instead, "apostates" showed a loving & kind demeanor toward your objections and questions (like Paul Grundy & others did to me). You started having stronger doubts and, like me, asked for your "no-blood card" from the Elder's files and destroyed the one carried in your wallet (I did this very early on, even though I was still active for about 2 years afterward).
Then, you get into that same accident and your life is saved by a transfusion. You fully wake up, as does your family. Boom! Life saved.
THAT is how important it is we set a good example for lurkers and active JWs. It is a matter of life and death!
Oh, but its just "satire", right? Wrong! We have a responsibility to current JWs and the little children who might end up not being raised in this damn cult, just by us swallowing our pride and being respectful.
The problem is I have no wish to stop you being a witness. I stopped trying to convert people when I stopped going twenty years ago. You're a big boy. You can make your own mind up.

The danger of thinking we know everything.
by stuckinarut2 ina thought occurred that there is a danger in thinking we know everything, or have it all figured out in life.
especially when it comes to matters of doctrine or faith.. witnesses (or at least the society as a whole) are so self-confident, so proud to be the only ones who know "the truth" about everything to do with the universe, the earth, our past and our future, that pride kicks in.
and pride is dangerous...(.and before a fall).

One area where for my part I feel this definitely is an important point, is in the field of evolution versus creation. How many program do I not watch where the evolutionists state that earlier, one did not quite understand how this or that was - but NOW we know how it is, NOW we have the full truth about it. And then, in about 20 years' time, another evolutionist will say exactly the same. I don't intend to hijack the thread, but me - I get angry when I hear about how the plants and insects and worms have figured things out and miraculously managed to overcome obstacles and have engineered new solutions whereupon the tree next door has managed to overcome this etc. NOW we know it, a decade ago we didn't.
That's science for you - a constant search and discovery, with knowledge and theories being refined all the time. Exciting isn't it! Ever since the ancient greeks (and probably before) man has been striving for a better understanding of the world around him.
