  Exit therapist

  i am having quite a bit of trouble leaving and fading.

  does anyone have recommendations of an exit therapist?

  it doesn't matter where they are located, i need to get out physically, mentally, and emotionally.

  To the OP, try your hardest to associate with people that aren't witnesses. I know it's easier said than done but find new friends, join a club, take up a hobby that involves meeting others. The madness that the JWs teach will soon seem just that - madness.

  I guarantee that once you start mixing in other circles you'll be able to lie in bed on a Sunday morning and not give JWism another thought.

  Hadriel in science they don't like to attribute changes to unique events and tend to keep on pursuing explanations that are more systematic. so here you will meet a lot of resistance.

  You say that like it's a bad thing.

  i'm a middle aged man.

  i dated a jw lady for 3 months ., we never had sex, just made out , half naked , well everything except underwear .

  she has been a jw for 40 years ., was married to a jw but he committed adultery 13 years ago so they divorced .

  i know that many here are no longer believers, but i also know that there are still some participating in this forum who consider themselves christians.

  i recently refurbished my web site extensively, and thought some of you might enjoy browsing it.

  some of my articles are aimed at exposing unbiblical teachings of the watchtower, and my video presentations on "darkness in the watchtower" and "the watchtower's mad science and bad medicine" have been particularly well received.

  Landy, I've been trying myself to figure out why it's a BS degree rather than a BA. But my degree is indeed a BS, not a BA. I can post a copy if you want. But I agree, a BS seems like an odd duck. Nonetheless, I wasn't about to quibble when they awarded it to me after all that coursework.

  I can understand a degree in religious studies, as that can be factual as far as studying the beliefs and origins of various religions. I can also understand the courses that are delivered at places such as a catholic seminarys where they're preparing a person for priesthood - at least they're nailing their colours to the mast.

  I stuggle to understand the validity or value of courses delivered at places like Moody so I'm curious as to the course content and how it was delivered, including any slants or opinions they taught.

  I know when I was a kid I sometimes would ask for a toy - and though my mom heard my plea, and she was "near" me physically and as a loving parent - I did not get the toy.

  Schoolboy error.

  Young JW's attitudes

  i met an old friend last evening, a great guy, an xjw for longer than me.. during a conversation about our experiences since fading (neither of us are da'd or anything) we got to talking about the young jw's.. his wife is still in, and he has two lovely daughters who he is trying to teach the art of critical thinking so that they can make the right choice in the future.. what worries him though is that he is convinced almost all young jw's do not give a "proverbial" if it is the truth or not, they simply wish to remain in it because of the social aspects, loads of friends and activities that they feel safe partaking in etc etc.. so how do you convince these young people that they would have a better life if they left ?.

  they see it as losing all their friends, and being alone and trying to build new relationships, which is mostly true.. how do we convince them to make the leap ?.

  should they ?.

  I think it fast becomes all that they know. They are brought up to be ostracized from their 'worldly' peers - it's only natural that they will look inward to socialise with those that have shared similar experiences. What they believe is irrelevant really.
