I must have been (relatively) lucky - if anyone in my old cong came out with that tripe they would have been laughed at and given a very wide berth.

JW Facebook puriven garbage
by Lostandfound inbelow is an example of the pure cliche driven and meaningless posts by witnesses to witnesses on facebook .
it was truly a blessing from jehovah that your original plans .....didn't work out, because instead our family was able to enjoy a spiritually filled morning with ,spiritual food and spiritual entertainment and singing praises to our glorious god, grand creator and loving heavenly father jehovah was a memorable gift.
he has truly provided a perfect example of christian brotherly love through his son, our savior jesus christ.

Pretty much sums it up.
Wars and unrest = start of the GT
Peace time = peace and security = GT
Pretty much covers all the bases!

1 Step Forward and 3 Steps Back: Trying to Get My Mom to See 'The Light' (Oh the Irony!)
by Sorry inrecently, my mother's been hounding me to do personal study (i think she's slowly realizing i'm becoming disillusioned with the organization and is trying to reign me back in).
i don't know what made me do this, but i decided to test the waters by challenging 'new light'.
she asked me what i learned in personal study, so i brought up organ transplants and the wt flip floppy stance on them (thanks jwfacts!).

Unfortunately, for many reasons, you're wasting your time trying to make them see sense.
Just respectfully explain to your mother that she has her beliefs and that's fine but they aren't your beliefs. Just as she expects you to respect her beliefs, ask her to respect yours.
Hopefully you've got many years ahead with a good relationship with your mother. Don't put up walls that don't need to be there.

New Religion where to look?
by Alostpuppydog inhas anyone found any religion that makes more sense than the watchtower organization?
obviously catholics make even less sense than them so don't say that.... the reason i ask is because i still believe the bible is the word of god, but just that the jw's have twisted it for their own benefit, as most religions seem to do....

The religion that makes the most sense is no religion.
As those two wonderful philosophers Bill and Ted stated, just be excellent to one another.
Awsome.

Just curious about how faithful women are these days. Anybody know?
by Alostpuppydog inso being someone who is not, however still believes around 70% of what the jw's talk about as far as the bible goes, ignoring the fact of no blood transfusions, shunning, etc.
wt doctrines, i got this question.
anybody really know how faithful 'worldly' (i use this term lightly 😉) women are these days?

Don't fool yourself! JWs aren't any more faithful sexually, than members from any other bible-believing church. The JWs are just a little better at hiding their naughty behavior due to the penalty of shunning; and due to the policy of secrecy surrounding judicial committees.
An elder friend once said to me 'if you knew what went on that never becomes congregation knowledge you would be amazed'.
And that's just the stuff that comes to the attention of the elders.

Perhaps if you're still suffering after 30 years of estrangement professional counselling may be the best way for you to move forward.

As for being clean I still am! But I wouldn't trust a JW girl over a worldly girl when it comes to that. Just because of what I have seen/heared from other JWs that are in the dating pool.
Judging by your previous posts I reckon getting laid would do you the world of good. ;)

The Q Gospel
by schnell inso, i'm reading "the lost gospel: the book of q and christian origins" on scribd.
check it out: https://www.scribd.com/book/163624254.
if you're not aware (i'm just learning about this), the q is a term for an early "sayings gospel" of yeshua, a document that recorded his sayings rather than his supposed life story.

Stupid site
That should say ;
There's just me
Everyone else is an alias of SBF
But the second sentence didn't register.
A migration to some standard software like vbulletin would make this place a lot more usable.
