  How does an elder become an elder ?

  i was never a jw , so have millions of questions .

  please, how does an elder become an elder and how much trust does or should a jw put in an elder .?

  Most elders had to be a** kissers or yes men. That is exactly what the org is looking for. They are not looking for someone who is free spirited or can think for themselves. Even if it was just an act on the part of the perspective elder, there had to be at least a little bit of smooching and head bobbing.

  You could level that charge at anyone wanting to advance in any organisation, whether it be religious or career related.

  The majority of elders, I'll admit, do fit your description, but there are elders out there who are good public speakers, very empathetic and are all round nice people. There was certainly one or two of them in my old congregation.

  As with most things, sweeping generalisations are a bad thing.

  Is The Governing Body The Rulers Of A Criminal Organization? Wolves In Sheep's Clothing

  i think we can see that the further we proceed into the future the more criminal this organization looks due to man's more evolved social understanding,, so since this thing is gradual i'm predicting that this evolution will exterminate this cult with a capital fuck you.. since this is a religion that has exported itself(criminal activity) all over the world from usa origins i would expect the usa court system not to come to their aid when reach lawsuits come reaching from all over the world to usa based headquarters living there situated on a contaminated chemical dump site (whether it is properly been clean up it is anybody's guess (i'm guessing not))..

  Governments should put pressure on the WTS to obey the law, by introducing tougher, new laws. This would make it harder for the WTS not to be a criminal organisation. Staying on the right side of the law should be made difficult.

  Again - please tell me which laws are they breaking and what crimes they are committing?

  I understand people can be bitter when leaving the JWs but to throw ridiculous accusations about does not help your cause. Was it you last time that (effectively) accused the whole GB of being child abusers?

  What evidence of criminal activity by the organisation do you have?

  it was truly a blessing from jehovah that your original plans .....didn't work out, because instead our family was able to enjoy a spiritually filled morning with ,spiritual food and spiritual entertainment and singing praises to our glorious god, grand creator and loving heavenly father jehovah was a memorable gift.

  he has truly provided a perfect example of christian brotherly love through his son, our savior jesus christ.

  many of the jws i'm still friends with on facebook are incredibly excited that trump won the american presidential race, posting, "yay!

  recently, my mother's been hounding me to do personal study (i think she's slowly realizing i'm becoming disillusioned with the organization and is trying to reign me back in).

  i don't know what made me do this, but i decided to test the waters by challenging 'new light'.

  she asked me what i learned in personal study, so i brought up organ transplants and the wt flip floppy stance on them (thanks jwfacts!).

  Unfortunately, for many reasons, you're wasting your time trying to make them see sense.

  Just respectfully explain to your mother that she has her beliefs and that's fine but they aren't your beliefs. Just as she expects you to respect her beliefs, ask her to respect yours.

  Hopefully you've got many years ahead with a good relationship with your mother. Don't put up walls that don't need to be there.

  New Religion where to look?

  has anyone found any religion that makes more sense than the watchtower organization?

  obviously catholics make even less sense than them so don't say that.... the reason i ask is because i still believe the bible is the word of god, but just that the jw's have twisted it for their own benefit, as most religions seem to do....

  Just curious about how faithful women are these days. Anybody know?

  so being someone who is not, however still believes around 70% of what the jw's talk about as far as the bible goes, ignoring the fact of no blood transfusions, shunning, etc.

  wt doctrines, i got this question.

  anybody really know how faithful 'worldly' (i use this term lightly 😉) women are these days?

  Don't fool yourself! JWs aren't any more faithful sexually, than members from any other bible-believing church. The JWs are just a little better at hiding their naughty behavior due to the penalty of shunning; and due to the policy of secrecy surrounding judicial committees.

  An elder friend once said to me 'if you knew what went on that never becomes congregation knowledge you would be amazed'.

  And that's just the stuff that comes to the attention of the elders.
