You don't mean this Berwick do you?
That's the one - he was stood outside the Ponden Mill shop.
just wondering.
what do those who left wt, and still believe the bible, feel about matt.24:14?

Was walking down Berwick town centre this morning and there was some guy limply holding a watchtower out wrapped in plastic - not sure that qualifies as preaching.
posted on friends :-) anyway i hope everyone agrees even in disagreement, the discussion can be fruitful.
personally i usually find the atheism views more compelling than the christian view point, however i value both insights and conversations when the comments are respectful.. as it's coming up to eater, could i therefore pose the question to christians can you offer compelling evidence for the resurrection of christ?
evidence is a fact or a set of facts, or maybe i should rephrase my question " the resurrection is reasonable to hold to because of reasonable evidence that can be submitted for that conclusion" .
There isn't any.
What you choose to believe however is totally up to you.
i have seen a few posts here, in various guises, in relation to whether watchtower is in decline.
plenty of people respond, but it is all fairly anecdotal, or "gut feel".
some of it has been wishful thinking.. as of late 2015, watchtower's numbers suggest it is still growing marginally, but there are various anecdotes on this site of publishers typically being older, and younger ones disappearing.
I've been fading since 2014. Still a servant, still playing the game. I'm waiting for the right time to exit. I know that I'm just 1 of thousands just going because we have to. I've said by the end of this year I'm out no matter.
The JW has 10 years top. The internet will expose them.
And it sounds like you'll still be there in 10 years. Still fading ......
when i grew up in the 1980's -90's it was rare to see a faithful slaves picture in 10 years of watchtowers.
everything was anonymous.
no one really knew there names except for the "holy oricle" fred franz.. now they are full on t.v stars with there own show.
after leaving the jehovah’s witness religion, we had the opportunity to read emotional blackmail by susan forward, ph.d. we could relate to the stories she discusses in the book and could make a direct correlation to our lives as jehovah’s witnesses.
while the experiences are somewhat different from what we encountered in our personal lives, we could readily comprehend how individuals use emotional blackmail to make others develop fear, obligation and guilt in order to manipulate them into furthering their own agenda.this podcast explains in great detail how jehovah’s witnesses live in the fog.
no one can dispute these comments as every current and former witness is most familiar with the culture of the organization!this podcast references the experience of a sister that lived in an iron lung and her experience was used as a tool to measure the faith of jehovah’s witnesses with otherwise good health that did not live up to the daily demands of the watchtower.
Years ago, when we first stopped going, at the behest of my mother, the CO knocked at the door. My wife answered and during the conversation the CO pointed to our kids, who were small at the time, and said 'think of your children, they'll die at armageddon'.
Emotional blackmail at its finest. I won't say what my wife's reply was - it wasn't pretty :)
this a question more out of curiosity, because we have not stepped foot in a kh in 3 years.. how is the attendance at the meetings/assemblies?
i know the answer will vary due to location.. are you (especially elders) receiving any notification or communication from bethel or co's that there is an upsurge of people that are simply disappearing or out right dis associating?.
thanks, in advance, for your feedback!
"Most are in it for the community/association."
And because they don't know anyting else. A lot of them now (I imagine) are of a 'certain age' - spent the last 40 years ias a witnes and that is their full social circle. To move away from that would be a Very Scary Thing.
I think that is one of the reasons so many witnesses struggle to change congregations.
he sure was well known, and apparently he left his wife some time ago.
his initials were m.l.. does anyone know about this?.
