My review of the new JW.org website, and why Watchtower videos are landing them in a sticky situation!
by cedars ini know some of the fuss about the newly revamped jw.org has died down, but i wanted to write a blog article by way of a "review" all the same.
i felt it was important to highlight the dishonesty and evasiveness of the information on the new website, particularly in the "faqs" section.
hopefully, if people decide to research "jw.org" on google, eventually my article might rise to the top and give people a more balanced perspective.. here is the link.... http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/the-new-jw-org-watchtowers-attempt-to-tame-the-internet.

Feel the Goddamned Love
by AK - Jeff inmy mil of 38 years - who has not spoken to me for the 9 years since i left her cult - died on sunday.. today, as a favor to my sil who has spoken to me very rarely, for the same reasons, over the same period of time, i was moving some personal items to her home from the nursing home.
in this instance i guess it is ok to speak with me - if i have a strong back and a conveyance that aids her needs at the moment.. anyway, in the parking lot of the apartment complex where she lives, while we are moving in those items, guess who shows up?
five or six of my old 'best friends'.

No wonder you were seething AK!!
My wife and I had close friends that we helped out, used to go on holidays with and had round for dinner nearly every week. Once word got out that I was "doubting, rebelling etc", that was the end of that. My wife still considers herself a JW but rarely gets to meetings due to bad health. She has been contacted a few times in the year or so since I left but only one email from these friends which was a couple of weeks ago!! Its hurting my wife how nearly everyone is ignoring her, but hopefully she will see the org for what it really is. I feel sorry for our "friends", not angry. They are totally misled and really think they are acting in the right way. After all, I have done it to others in the past too!! They also have two daughters out of the WT that they dont see. SO SAD!!
On the couple of occasions when JWs have been round to try to see my wife, and she has been ill in bed, its been strangely satisfiying seeing the uncomfortable shuffling as they have to talk to me instead. (I feel a bit mean saying that but its true)
Totally agree with Blinders!

My nephew is awake!
by redvip2000 inmy 17 year old nephew is visiting from florida and to my surprise, last night in conversation, he revealed that for the last 2 years, he has come to realize that the watchtower society " is a bunch of bs" and that he can see how people are brainwashed in the organization.. interestingly, he has come to realize this, without knowing any of the facts and scandals that we all know about - he simply can see things don't add up.
naturally our conversation progressed to discuss the inconsistencies in the org which he had no idea about, and the flood gates were opened.... he now wants to read the ray franz's books, and get as much information as possible.. he told me that the young people in the hall are beginning to speak to each other about " the issues", while keeping these conversations away from the parent's ears.
sadly, my sister still expects and somewhat forces the kid to attend the meetings, but i told him that he should be wise and patient in the process of stepping away from the cult, to avoid too much collateral damage.. i often feared that the kid would be pressured into being baptized in the cult, but he seems determined to make sure that will never happen.

That's great to hear! Does anyone know if this sort of thing is happening much here in the UK?

A thread for those who have no support system or a place to go due to shunning.
by ohiocowboy inreading the recent thread about the young lady who just ended her life got me thinking that maybe there could be a thread that is easily accessible to anyone who may need help due to homelessness from losing their families and friends to shunning.
too often i hear stories about people who have lost everything, and have no where to go, and at the same time having no type of support system.
unfortunately there are some who are so lost that they feel that there are no options besides taking their own life.. i think that a website that matches people in need to others who can help in some way would be a great idea.

Wow! Brilliant! I wish I could provide practical help but circumstances don't allow at present. 100% theoretical support for what you re trying to do! Life has soooooo much to offer outside of the cult!! Longing for the day when this evil, pathetic religion is gone!!
