pray for brother jackson of the governing body!.
in todays news from australia it appears that, despite his previous declination to appear when invited, justice mcclellan from the australian royal commission on child sex abuse will officially summon brother geoffrey jackson to the stand after all.. ..... the commission was due to conclude its hearings into the jehovahs witnesses on wednesday but justice mcclellan said he will now call geoffrey jackson, a senior member of the churchs governing body in new york who is currently in australia, to appear next week.. .
source.
Not sure it has been said, but surely these guys would embrace the chance to go before governmental authorities in view of what Jesus said.
"As for you. . . people will deliver you up to local courts, and you will be. . .put on the stand before governors and kings for my sake. . ."
Why do they feel that if Jesus said this they do not have to go through it?
Yeah, yeah, I know the answer to that, but. . .
has anyone else heard this said more frequently lately?
"even if it's true..." i have seen it said on here a few times in quotes from in family or friends responding the negative things about the org.. i heard it tuesday night again.
in a pioneer sisters comment.
I am sooo thirsty. Even if this glass is full of cyanide, I will drink it to quench my thirst.
That makes about the same sense.
just got back from the wt study and it overall was just so blindingly biased and leading.. i had to read it from the platform too, i hope they couldn't see the confounded look on my face as i read this craziness out!.
first we consider the faith of abel, enoch, noah, abraham, isaac and jacob, and moses.. all of these people are held up as sterling examples of blind faith, with the article pointedly saying that their imaginations sustained their faith in gods promises for them.
no mention anywhere at all that all of these characters saw and talked to angels, spoke to god himself, saw and performed miracles, or any of the other feats experienced by these characters.
Listening to this tripe now. A few favorite quotes:
It cannot be said. . .Abel likely, Enoch formed a mental picture, Noah very likely, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob could have, it is likely, Moses could likely, none of us can be sure of exactly what,
So it cannot be said, but the WTB&T$ will say what the Bible doesn't!
so a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.
only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.
he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.
They directly said no. *shrug* i cant say anything beyond that....
LOL, that really shows the "consistency" that the Watchtard Babble & Tablet $ociety operates under.

Not trying to be argumentative, but there is one small difference that was always trotted out to me in the past between being a MS or an elder. It was the "qualified to teach" line. And I have heard a number of cases in the US mid-western states location where elders were "demoted".
Just curious though, where was this incident, and what was the (C.O.) Commanding Officers name? If it can be reveled without blowing anyone's cover.
so fisherperson sent me a pm asking a bunch of questions re my time at beth hell.
rather than respond in a pm i will post the q/a here as i have nothing to hide.
q:what years did you serve in brooklyn bethel?
After reading all fisher"man"s insulting, name-calling, ad nauseam personal attacks, and KNOWING I am next in line for the same childish treatment I felt the need to tell fisher"man" something:
Look at my avatar! That is for you!

the 2015 imitate jesus!

"What moved your child to return to Jehovah?"
"The missed association with the family."
So much for their "child" giving a flying f--- about the troof or God!
so ofs was at the wt this morning, and on par.
14 the question was, "what trust can a faithful christian whose relative is disfellowshipped have?".
after awhile when no one else raised their hands ofs did, and was called on.. ofs commented, "one of jw can have the trust that god will lovingly give them the ability to uphold the disfellowshipping arrangement by totally shunning family members.".
Thanks all!
There is nothing more fun at this point in time than to "innocently" use their own printed words in conversation and when they claim I am wrong, than show them, and ask if they are doubting "the slave".
