"If you are teaching intolerance, we WILL shut you down!" English Prime Minister David Cameron
by stuckinarut2 inthe prime minister of england made the above statement yesterday regarding any schools that influence youths in a negative manner.. he went on to say that if youths are influenced in a negative manner regarding religious teachings that promote judgement of others (including same sex relationships, etc ) or that look down on other peoples free choice, the government would take action.. i cant find a newspaper article sorry...i just heard it on the radio news.... very interesting though...it may have a bearing on how those who learn ttatt are treated by the organization??

In my experience the most intolerant people are those who have their version of tolerance disagreed with. -

What other Shenanigans can we expect to see in the next 2 years?
by John Aquila inits been a little over 2 years since i left the watchtower.
in that time the magazines have been cut, the birth of jwtv, jw-org.
carts for preaching, removed district overseers, cut assemblies, demand all the money from the congregations, stop construction and layoff bethelites, change the format of the tmschool .

"Not even saying a greeting, NO NOT TO EVEN LOOK AT THEM"
Years ago when I was still fully indoctrinated I was DF'd and was trying to get RI. The PO asked why I thought I had a chance to be allowed back in. I said because one brother would always nod and give a slight smile when he saw me at the KH as he walked back to conduct the second "school".
The very next serve us meeting had the first and second parts shortened for a "special local needs" part that was not scheduled in the KM.
That same PO gave the part and said those very words. He said DF'd people would have ben stoned to death and buried in Israel, so they could not be seen. Therefore DF'd ones were the same as dead, and should not even be looked at.
What a f--king jack-ass! He is spreading his vile thoughts in central Arizona, USA now.

Ways to raise an eyebrow or two with bro/sis perfect!
by Truthexplorer injusmy wife and i were out in the ministry today and she was expressing her annoyance at brother perfectionist in our hall and how he is beginning to annoy her as nit picks over everything that the more liberal witnesses view as ok. so we were having some fun about what we could say to him that would really raise his eye brows.
she then suggested i say ' hey brother perfect, you'll never guess what happened to me.
i was sitting on the toilet when to my shock and horror, there was no toilet paper left.

One of the best ways to make someone nervous that I found was to say just loud enough for the person to hear and in the most confidential tone you could muster, "They know!"
Everyone has some kind of secret they don't want widely known, and to hear that "they" know sets in the panic about who knows, and what do they know.

My Mom Is Dying
by minimus ini just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.
she is on morphine and hanging on.
she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.

Please, accept my sympathy.
I too am facing the same prospect with my mom. It makes it a little harder when those oh so "loving" brothers and sisters in her congregation have thrown her to the curb, and my dad too. Both of them a long ways away, and no company from the "friends"
It makes it a little easier knowing others are going through similar trials. Hang in there and as you said, love her.

Elder gossip
by Jumongi ini'll try to keep this short.
my experience at the hall is elders not really engaging in friendship building communication with anyone.
the only time they really communicate with you is to counsel you or tell you where you need to make adjustments.

I have experienced that too. Along with the blatant, malicious gossip they engage in when in FS. Bad mouthing anyone they can. . .real "christians", NOT! -

How many Watchtower properties still to sell in Brooklyn yet?
by Gayle indoes anyone have an accounting of those properties?
which properties and possible value of sale?.
sounds like that the watchtower may want to sell quickly?
-
OneFingerSalute
So including the properties under contract at 375 million they will have sold off over 875 million in assets, confiscated the funds from all congregations coupled with tithes in perpetuity, and yet they still beg for more. . .More. . .MORE from the members who blindly followed the advice about education and work and as a result have very little to take care of their own needs, much less the greed of the Org.
Disgusting!

Pushing the electronic gadgets, and a "new" mid-week meeting that isn't really new at all, just shuffled the same ol' stuff around so the sheeple will ooh and aw, and spout off about how fast things are moving, when they are just sitting in one place.
First they cut the size of the public mags in half, now they cut the number in half. The oh so special "study" WT was basically cut in half already.
More use of centralized videos.
Much of the "new" crap will just push the elderly further out the back door as they try to drag in new recruits through the front door.

What's the craziest thing someone INFORMED on you about?
by Londo111 inthe culture of jws as encouraged by the watchtower is one of informing on one another, reporting to either the elders or ones designated head.
whats the wackiest thing that someone reported on you?
im not talking about a black-and-white watchtower rule that would land you in a judicial committee, but some judgmental nonsense that someone thought they should turn you in about?.

Years ago an eldurrs punk kid wanted to borrow a cowboy hat from me for something or another. He came over after a midweek meeting, and when I answered the door I didn't have a shirt on. My future wife (now ex) was there and he turned me in for being "naked".
He had the reputation in the local high school of being a practicing drunk, drug abuser, and serial fornicator. But he was an eldurrs son so it was all good!
When the eldurrs "talked" to me about my inappropriate dress in front of a woman they also brought up that my vehicle had been seen late at night in front of a nightclub and that I should park a few blocks away so as not to "stumble" anyone.

What is the most bizarre counsel you received as a JW, from a JW?
by Funchback inthere were many addressed to me.
for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.
i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

Seriously? Ankle bracelets on women?
Sounds like a dipshlt named Prouton. From the ASSembly platform he went on a rant about sisters wearing ankle bracelets concluding with this bit of asswiperery, "Whenever I see a sister with an ankle bracelet my first thought is 'tinkle, tinkle, here comes Jezebel!'"

An older guy in the group had to pee, so he threw a whiz right there in the homeowners front yard. Mid-stream he yell out, "DAMMIT, I SHIT MY PANTS!"
Then we all got to sit in a small sub-compact vehicle with no AC and ride forty miles back to the KH in 90 degree F. weather.
