  Are Jehovah's Witnesses marriages even legit?

  i ask this because of the circumstances behind why they get married and who they get married by.

  i know people say that they are really in love, they love jehovah, etc, but are these marriages even legit.

  i've talked to older jw's sister who are now widowed, some of them say that they were trapped in a marriages.

  i see years of acute economic crisis ahead for the w.t.

  this is evident with letting go of " volunteer" bethalites throughout the world.

  but my thread is on the consequences to the individual, and the organisation of letting " volunteer" bethalites go.. so what happens to the captive mind of the former bethalite when they are let go from bethel?

  How does one genuinely train for disaster survival when wearing inappropriate clothing?

  Well the JDubya's always say that full dress clothes are the only appropriate clothing for "true" christians no matter what they are doing. The thing I wonder about is who is going to be carrying those "go bags"? Even government web-sites give good ideas of what to pack, and those suggested items would never fill all the room those silly JDubya's will be hefting around. I'd be damned if I would help them cart all that weight.

  a new category entitled “Video Showings” will be used to report the number of times we were able to show one of our videos in the ministry.
  

  So now the eldurrs will have another reason to question the "spirituality" of the sheeple.

  "What do you mean brother poorer-than-dirt not showing the required number of videos? You need to purchase one of the approved tablets. Gee-HO-Vah will provide for your material needs until you get done paying for it!"

  just let me say, i hate the gray bible.

  when i read the revision of mal 3:10 and they included tithing, i almost vomited.

  recently though, my invalid mother asked me to read to her and the only thing available was the gray bible.

  Matthew 23: 36 is another one that the cross references were "abbreviated". Previously it crossed to Exodus 20: 5 where it speaks of, "fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation." The grey Bible has removed it entirely. Can't have the Bible contradicting what the GB say makes up a generation, now can we?

  One of our daughters complained that during recess at her school, some Witness youths behave in a way that she thought was not proper.

  This statement caught my eye also. Recess implies a pretty young child, and as such what business did SHE have judging other youths behavior? She is being taught well by her critical parents to use "conscience" as a club to beat her fellow youths with.
  

  “My conscience would not let me share as fully in class discussions as I normally did. I could not support the theory of evolution."

  Apples and oranges. Sharing in class discussion does not equate to support. Many years ago when OFS was in school students were encouraged to discuss subjects from both sides of the issue. Why couldn't this (fictional?) student have done just that?

  This WT was messed up on many levels, wasn't it?

  Prodigal Returns Review/Commentary!

  in this "exciting" watchtower production we see the biblical story of "the prodigal son" come to life in a modern setting full of intrigue, suspense, office whores, drama, parties, and the best cop car chase scene capture on film since "police story!

  " i think some of you may find it interesting.

  'i have prayed, and confessed my sins to my god, i'm not telling them (the elders) anything'.

  .. could this be a significant sign that there maybe a small dent in the armour of an active jw?

  or is it just a case of 'keep your nose out' ?

  It seems they have at least one article or assembly talk a year that states that "serious sins" (dfing offenses) have to be confessed to the elders in order to gain forgiveness.

  Every time I have heard this line of uncastrated male bovine excrement from them I always ask someone near me, "When are the confessionals going to begin being built in the KH so we can go to confession?"
