  Talk on "Reaching Out"-Only What BOE Thinks Matters

  for the “living as christians” section of the workbook, “are you reaching out?” talk (15 min), the bethelite gave this talk at the meeting.

  he totally departed from the subject matter which is the watchtower of september 15, 2014, pages 3-6. he was so far off the reservation, it wasn't funny.

  here are a few highlights of what was said: 1) if any brother asked why they haven’t been appointed, and wants to know if there is a problem or condition that exists, that brother is too “presumptuous” and therefore, can’t be used.

  “When I agreed to be a member of this religion, everything was different. The end of the world, the Brothers, the congregations, the doctrines. There isn't any love in the congregation anymore. Things have changed. No apologies about the changes or doctrinal reversals , but I am supposed to do what I am told and shut-up.”

  It sounds like your mother has the same feelings my dear mother has. She has repeatedly said, "The religion I was baptized into no longer exists. If this religion had existed then I would never have joined."

  It is sad though that she is so close to the end of her life that she doesn't dare leave now. Damned cruel JDubya's!

  I ground my teeth through this presentation. The eldurr giving the part mentioned all the good things there are about "reaching out". He made a point of saying what the "qualifications" are, and then stating, "but more is needed. You have to be visible in the serve us."
  

  As others have said, it is strange that someone could do all the things Jesus said should be done to one of his brothers; taking care of the elderly, providing necessities of life to those who are poor, being an emotional support to those who are depressed, yet if you are not SEEN, and if you don't brag (report) your hours, you will never get the "privilege" of being used, abused, chewed up and spit out, kicked to the curb when you are no longer of any slave value to the WT.

  what is the point of supporting a belief which began as a bronze age ox-headed idol called yahweh... in a religion designed for illiterate peasants now appropriated by a money-driven cult with a one hundred and forty six year unbroken record of total failure of its bible based predictions?.

  DF'ed arrival/departure times at meetings

  i didn't want to derail another thread, but something said made me wonder.

  i know that i noticed df'ed people come in right when the meeting started and leave right when it left most of the time.

  is that some sort of actual rule?

  I just want to let them experience it from the other side.

  I know what you mean. When I was still a good terms with all the eldurrs locally I made a similar comment to one of them. I told him that every "brother" wanting to be an eldurr should be treated as a DF'd person for awhile first, and then they would be more empathetic. Of course he took exception to that. Turns out that now that I have quit running the treadmill he is a pompous, arrogant jerk, and I'm not even DF'd, though I am treated by him and his small clique of personality worshipers as if I am.

  On many occasions the angels could have given their names. Noah asked the angel what is your name. The good angel never gave his name. Because of their humility they do not want the honor.

  Because of humility perfect heavenly angels who are in the presence of God Himself and Jesus do not give their names or accept worship it is said. Contrast that with the way the governing body, their "helpers" and any other hangers on put their mugs out there on governing body TV and at assemblies. Wanting to be seen by men. Wanting their names memorized. Wanting the front seats in the synagogues.

  They're now asking people to clean at Bethel?

  i heard from a "friend" that a letter was read aloud during the midweek meeting asking people to volunteer to do cleaning work in bethel.

  lol.

  i really can't think of anything else to say if this is true.. they get more free labor, and they still ask for more more more money!!

  I wonder how many of the Gibbering Body willingly reach out for the "privilege" of scrubbing the toilets of those whom they are supposed to "slave" for?

  Can You Feel The Love?

  just heard of an experience that proves what i have thought all along about the unique type of love in the jdubya religion.. an elderly, handicapped jdubya acquaintance was traveling alone through the mid-west recently and found themselves stranded in denver, colorado due to dangerous road conditions.

  not knowing anyone, and having no way to get from place to place on their own they made a number of phone calls.

  finally they were able to get in contact with an oh so christian "sister" who had with her husband spent many decades in bethel.

  One small detail has come to light since I first posted this comment.

  The spouse of the elderly handicapped JDubya has personally known both the former Bethel female sister and her husband for over forty years. So it wasn't a case of caution for someone unknown to them.

  Yes, I can feel the love. Damned hypocrites!

Not knowing anyone, and having no way to get from place to place on their own they made a number of phone calls. Finally they were able to get in contact with an oh so christian "sister" who had with her husband spent many decades in Bethel. They asked if there would be any way they could at the very least get someone to keep them company for a few hours. The "sister" informed the stranded JDubya that she and her husband were just going out the door for field serve us and that they would return the call as soon as the meeting for serve us was done. Surprise, surprise, no return phone call. Calls from the stranded JDubya only went to voice mail after that, and none were returned. Thanks to the oh so loving "brotherhood" this handicapped, elderly person spent a full day and then a cold night alone stranded in the Denver bus station.

  Some thoughts on the new midweek meeting

  the new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.

  here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.

  1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.

  JW Expressions We Hate

  i was browsing through stuff on jw.org recently and ran across some expressions that really grate on my nerves: loyal love, loving-care, and loving-kindness, as in: "please exercise loving-kindness toward your servant.

  " who talks like that?

  they must be relics of the fred franz era.
