It is a CULT that wasted 48 years of my life.Cost me a possible career I may have cherished, a normal family, a GOOD SEX LIFE, a stable financial future, a lot of friends (who i lost cuz i dont go to meetings), and even a stable emotional base.
I'd sooner dance the tarantella nude in an ice storm in Time Square.

It is funny.
I was stabbed in the back by a number of elders (cuz they did not get the privileges I did - didnt matter that they could not put a coherent thought together).
I used it as a great way to fade - but the elders SHOULD have reacted as if I was STUMBLED, and tried to make amends.
Well - that didnt happen, THANKFULLY!
The CULT does not practice what it it preaches.

by joe134cd ini have just got of the phone with a relative complaining about the convention venue.
as far as my relative is concerned wt can do no wrong, so for him to say what he did it must of been bad.
the venue where the convention was held was described to me as a “tin shed with no air conditioning”.

WANTO - I disagree with you on those, and I am someone who used Isaiah the way you are describing in many talks.
It's all just poetic flowery language, the context is not about anything other than god being powerful and you should trust in him.
When I used those scriptures I knew I was using them to further MY point, not that it was there to shed light on the nature of the universe. Simply if god wanted to do that, it would have been in Genesis 1.
It's EASY to make just about anything say what you it to retroactively.
This is why the bible is such bullshit. You can make any argument you want with it, even Dinosaurs in Eden.

Now if somewhere in the bible god had said something like, e=mc2, then you would have some proof of a god.
Genesis is like a low budget bad bad movie with 100 plot holes, a contradictory storyline, continuity issues, and a week story where you can't suspend belief.
And I bought it look line and sinker for most of my life :(
