Shift in beliefs?
by blankspace ini was wondering whether anyone observed this point in the previous week's wt study, in paragraph 17: "jehovah’s spirit moves “the faithful steward” to keep giving his servants their food supply.".
i see this as a subtle move away from earlier claims to be channel for spiritual food.
the gb earlier said that they weren't inspired or infallible.

I was wondering whether anyone observed this point in the previous week's WT study, in paragraph 17: "Jehovah’s spirit moves “the faithful steward” to keep giving His servants their food supply."
I see this as a subtle move away from earlier claims to be channel for spiritual food. The GB earlier said that they weren't inspired or infallible. Now they say that Jehovah's spirit moves there to provide food. So logically they're saying that the spirit just motivates them and doesn't speak through them, thereby nullifying earlier claims of them being the John class.
I wonder where this subtle shift in statements is going to lead.

Serious Problems Between Elders
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inever encountered or eyewitnessed problems escalating, arguements and rows between elders right at the kh anyone?.
one such experience was just before the meeting was about to start,we heard raised voices from the second room between two elders.
a minute later two other elders went into the room and we could all hear that they were trying to cool the situation down with whatever was going on in there.

Where I grew up, I saw elders come to blows outside the hall while the meeting was in progress. The r&f didn't know what was going on. I found out because I was a curious 5 year old who suddenly found her daddy missing and sneaked away to find him. And I found him held back by two "brothers" while one was getting ready to hit him. I later found out that was because dad was the circuit account servant and had found irregularities in the books. And those were the brothers fudging the numbers.

A question for you women; what was it really like for you being in the Org?
by Tallon inhi there folks.. i took a bit of time out from the forum, however i'm back again.. what was it really like for you, your experiences good or bad, etc, in the org?.
if you were granted a listening ear by the gb, what changes would you like to see implemented?.

Wasn't too bad for me because I was never submissive and too thick-skinned to be affected by others' comments - until I went to bethel. That's where I learned my "place". But funnily I was assigned to a role in one of the more "elite" departments that would rarely be given to a lowly woman. It was fun to see grown-ass men swallow their pride when they had to get information approved by me. My husband is an open-minded guy and treats me as his equal. He's been an elder for many years and is also PIMO now.
On a side note, I hate the concept of head coverings. It isn't even scriptural and is an entire doctrine founded on a single scripture that applied in principle to an earlier era. I guess it gives the boys' club a kick to see smart women with a cloth on their heads. I find it plain humiliating.

An interesting explanation for the sale of India Branch property
by Ireneus inyesterday i was talking to a witness who has some connections with witnesses in india.
when i mentioned about the plan of selling the branch property, he was saying ‘this is a clever move as they fear a ban in that country as recently happened in russia.’.
this shows what type of trust they have in jehovah!.

There's tons of rumours going around about the reason for the sale. In reality, the branch sale was planned years before the Russian ban. The branch was built with aggregated funds donated worldwide and there was always a risk of the government clamping down on them and seizing the property after the ban on foreign donations came into effect. In fact, the current government has even started seizing temple treasures to compensate it's financial deficit. So the plan to sell the branch has been around for a while now. Finding a buyer took time and so did legal formalities. It's still going to take a year or so before the property is handed over to the new owners.

Developments in the India Branch
by MaxPayne inthe following letter was read in the congregation today.
it's for all the congregations in india.
i have pasted it as it was.

Bumping this thread with a short note as I just have a few minutes while on a work break.
1. The India branch will begin using literature again since digital publications don't really work in the majority of the country.
2. The GB didn't know how illiterate Indians in general are and they were misinformed - hence the earlier shutdown of the printery. Now that they are aware of the need for literature, they are focusing on existing literature to start off and then will get literature orders again. Another letter was read out to congregations recently - I'll try to get a copy and post it online.
3. Literature will be shipped from abroad and not printed in India.
4. Increased focus on covering unassigned territory especially in the North of the country.

Bethelites Vow Of Poverty
by pale.emperor informer governing body assistant howie tran has shared his bethel vow of poverty contract.
it reads rather culty.
i think clause number 9 is particularly worrying...to adhere to, not the bible alone, but also the watchtower literature and the governing body.

When you're really deluded, you'll be more than happy to sign that. When you're desperate for acceptance or when you completely believe that you're doing God's work, you will sign that. And then when the rose-colored spectacles lose their charm and you start waking up, you shake your head in disbelief and wonder what in the world possessed you to sign something like that. I was one of them!
On the other hand, there are many who sign the vow of poverty and find loopholes to their benefit. And there are a lot of loopholes if you look hard enough.
