Former governing body assistant Howie Tran has shared his Bethel vow of poverty contract. It reads rather culty. I think clause number 9 is particularly worrying...to adhere to, not the BIBLE ALONE, but ALSO the Watchtower literature AND the governing body. But what if the GB contradict the bible? Then clause 10 will sort you out.

How on earth do these people expect to survive the rest of thier life??
Wasting the fittest and strongest thier bodies will ever be in slavery!
The new age of bethelites must be a special kind of crazy. The JW cult has changed everything it teaches,reference:1914 overlapping etc etc. And despite all that they STILL sign up. Honestly they would have a better time in the military.

This is what every JW implicitly and unknowingly 'signed' at baptism: obey or be kicked out.
They only write it black on white for Bethel slaves to cover their ass legally. "You vowed to become poor and you agreed to be kicked out of you are disobedient. Now gtfo!"

The whole "The Order" thing sounds creepy AF on its own....

Lol — Of course they put in it writing. Then no one can come back and claim they didn’t “know” what they were getting into, or that they were “tricked”.
Its a pesticide against alleged ignorance.
You’d do it to if it you ran an organization.

It's worded as if they are in a monastic order! Why?

People will not agree with my above post, but jws have been around for 140 years. Experience tells them (and also tells society as a whole) that without having stuff in writing, people can lie and make stuff up, and as long as it sounds plausible, it will be believed when there are no records or signatures to disprove it.
Every organization is obligated to protect itself. WT is no different in that regard.

That is precisely what they are.

Well you have to hope the married couples in Bethel don't live like monks and nuns.

Well the celebacy aspect isnt a legal requirement, but legally they are viewed exactly as monks. Members of special religious order who have taken a vow of poverty and obedience.
If anyone “dislikes” that, take it up with the org. They are ones who designated bethelites as such, not I.
