I don't understand why there is even baldness in men.
In my family every male has a full head of hair, including my 90 year old grandfather on my mother's side. On top of that his hair is not all grey but salt and pepper like. We laugh because he keeps his hair shoulder length. We ask him why not cut it and he says, "It keeps me alive" LOL!
On the other hand I have ONE brother who went completely bald by age 25. And it has made him bitter to the max that all of us have all our hair, but he was the Only one who lost all his hair. Couldn't even wait till he at least got to age 50.
Every time we get together he rants on this over and over. We don't know what to say but try to comfort him anyway we can.
On top of that, to add more wood to the fire, he is short and all of us boys are over 6ft tall.
I have no idea why he got the short end of the stick. I wish there was something I could do for him.

Disillusioned JW
If you are saying that Licona has moved towards a theologically modernist view, one more in line with agnosticism and atheism
That’s not what I’m saying. Instead, what I assumed that everyone knew, is that Belief in the Bible being inerrant by Bible Scholars has changed considerably. It’s not a matter of a line drawn in the sand anymore. In other words, either you believe the Bible is inerrant or you don’t.
Bible Scholarly Criticism has become a lot more complex than just 15-20 years ago. Whereas in the past, if you believed like Licona that “Some Parts” of the Bible like Matthew 27 regarding the saints was allegory,------ well that just couldn’t happen because it conflicted with Christianity’s Scholarly Belief—At that particular time. That would automatically put you on the side of either agnostic or atheist, which was not acceptable. Which is why Licona got so much heat for his dubious comment, by other evangelists.
What was happening at that time, that we can now see-----was evolution in Bible Criticism!
Now for the first time you could “Publicly have a man like Licona who believe that the Bible was not inerrant BUT, still believed the Bible was God’s word. Others Scholars sided with Licona in his block busting view.
Today there are many Scholars who like Licona believe some of the thing written in the bible are not true but SOME ARE. And thus they still feel the bible is God’s word.
Some like Bart Ehrman believe Jesus was a real person and certain locations and events might have happen, but he doesn’t believe it is God’s Inspired Word.
So what has happen since the late 20 century, and early twenty-first century, is that biblical criticism has been influenced by a wide range of additional academic disciplines and theoretical perspectives. This has led to a transformation from either you believe the bible is God’s inspired word without any mistakes or you don’t-----To----You can believe or not believe, what you want of the bible ----and still have the choice of either accepting it as God’s inspired word or Not.
In the past, there was no room for anything in-between---but today there is.
On top of that, in the 90s when the internet became public, Globalization brought a broader spectrum of ideas and worldviews into the field of bible criticism as well as other academic disciplines, including Near Eastern studies, psychology, cultural anthropology and sociology, which formed new methods of biblical criticism such as social scientific criticism and psychological biblical criticism.
At the same time post-modernism and post-critical interpretation began questioning whether biblical criticism had a role and function at all.
With these new methods came new goals, as biblical criticism moved from the historical to the literary, and its basic premise changed from NEUTRAL JUDGMENT TO A RECOGNITION OF VARIOUS BIASES the reader would bring to the study of the texts.

But the main reason Licona was criticized by many leading evangelicals back in 2011 was because he basically said that the resurrection in Matthew was not literal, and Licona questioned the inerrancy of the Bible. That being the case, anything coming from his mouth regarding the Bible was now in question considering he admitted the bible contain many false mistakes.regarding Licona's acknowledged belief in ghosts and in demons, a great many of his fellow Christians believe in such
Addressing this crisis, a group of leading evangelicals met in Chicago in 1978 under the auspices of the International Council on Biblical inerrancy to adopt what became known as The Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy. Basically they condemned Licona for his views that he put in his book questioning the Bible’s inerrancy. They asked him to renounce what he said in his book.
The problem was that any Christian who read Licona’s new book would read the statement where he defiantly says the bible is NOT INERRANT! This coming from a revered Bible Scholar.
That was some 10 years ago and saying the bible was NOT INERRANT was taken differently than today. Today many Bible scholars agree the bible is Not Inerrant.

Sea Breeze;
I read the link you posted. There so much I could say but consider just one point regarding historical evidence.
In your link, New Testament scholars Gary Habermas and Michael Licona list the following five criteria noting that “a historian who is able to apply one or more of the following principles to a text can conclude with much greater confidence whether a certain event occurred
First of all did you know that Bible Scholar Michael Licona starting to lean more to agnostic than a true believer in the resurrection! Yes he starting changing his believe in the bible being the Word of God after he wrote his book.
He served as an apologetics coordinator at the North American Mission Board (Southern Baptist Convention) from 2005 through 2011, when he resigned as a result of the controversy surrounding his book The Resurrection of Jesus: A New Historiographical Approach in which he seeks to prove Jesus's bodily resurrection, but at the same time In a passage in his book, Licona questioned the literal interpretation of the story of the resurrection of the saints in Matthew 27, suggesting the possibility that it might be apocalyptic imagery alluding also to the resurrection of Jesus.
He changed his position on the resurrection of Jesus being apocalyptic imagery and now denies he ever said that about Jesus because his career was in danger of crashing. In a radio exchange with Ehrman, Licona said that if Jesus actually rose from the dead, Christianity is true even if it were also true that some things in the Bible were not.
Licona noted what he saw as several problems with the argument for inerrancy provided by American Christian systematic theologian Norman Geisler
In 2017 Licona debated Matt Dillahunty.
During the debate
Michael Licona acknowledged his belief in ghosts,
in post mortem experiences,
in demons,
In psychokinesis
in the efficacy of ouija board, which he claims to be supported by empirical evidence
NOT A VERY RELIABLE PERSON TO BELIEVE IN WHAT HE SAYS ABOUT HISTORICAL EVIDENCE of Jesus.
Gary Habermas was born in 1950 and is old school when it comes to assessing what is HISTORICAL EVIDENCE.
Today-2021- bible scholars know a lot more what constitutes RELIABLE HISTORICAL EVIDENCE.
For Example, Under the Topic; A MATTER OF HISTORY it says this;
1. Historical claims are strong when supported by multiple, independent sources.
These OLD SCHOOL SCHOLARS USED THE SCRIPTURE; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 and would try to reason that 500 eyewitness was plenty of historical evidence to prove many saw Jesus resurrected. Here are some words used many times verbatim by these old scholars.
There is plenty of eyewitness testimony that establishes it. For example:..…
After that, He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once,---1 Corinthians 15:3-8
This is why these types of reasoning's don't work anymore.
Can you imagine if I was accused of murdering an entire family and was arrested for a crime I didn't commit. And when my Court date finally arrived and I sat before a Judge and Jury and defended myself by saying;
"I have five hundred Witnesses who can testify I didn't commit the crime"
And the Judge says; "Name the Witnesses"
And I say; "I don't know or have their names"
And the Judge says; "Where do they live?"
And I say; "I have no idea where they live."
And Judge says; "Where are the 500 witnesses?"
And I say; "They Been dead for over 2000 years."
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE JUDGE AND JURY WILL DO?
Today we don’t have one single name of those 500 witnesses mention by the bible writer
We don’t have any addresses
We don’t have any certified letters by them
We don’t have any other sources that name those 500 witnesses.
So it’s not historical evidence like those two old Bible scholars Claim
All it is ----------is a BELIEF!------With no actual historical evidence---just anecdotal stories.

Considering we are living in the LAST DAYS, and EVERLASTING LIFE IS AT STAKE………
and the only means of SALVATION ------is the preaching work……..
WHY WOULD JEHOVAH ALLOW DOOR TO DOOR PREACHING TO STOP FOR A WHOLE YEAR-----MAYBE LONGER?????
All Jehovah’s Witnesses never noticed how dumb the door to door preaching work actually is.
JEHOVAH is the GREATEST EMERGENCY RESPONDER. And he is responding to the GREATEST EMERGENCY EVER IN HUMAN HISTORY.
THE GREATEST EMERGENCY IS THIS……….WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS.
And the only means for all people to be saved is to WARN THEM OF THE COMING DESTRUCTION----THE GREAT TRIBULATION FOLLOWED BY ARMAGEDDON.
Any person that dies at ARMAGEDDON… WILL DIE ETERNALLY WITH NO HOPE OF A RESURRECTION.
DO NOT FEAR, JEHOVAH IS THE GREAT EMERGENCY RESPONDER, and he has made available the GREATEST PREACHING WORK EVER through the Organization called; The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society ------AKA God Earthly Organization.
BUT WAIT……...
Imagine an Emergency Responder learns of an impending terrorist plot to detonate a bomb at a crowded concert.
Without intervention, the explosion will kill all 10,000 people in attendance.
He must somehow deliver urgent evacuation instructions to all in attendance as quickly as possible.
Fortunately, he has the authority to take the stage and use the sound system to address the crowd personally — and he has the expertise to successfully execute this strategy with 100% certainty.
However, he chooses another strategy.
He instead selects a SINGLE INDIVIDUAL in the crowd and privately whispers the vital evacuation instructions privately.
This random person must then write the warning and evacuation plan to the best of his ability and pass it to other attendees one by one on paper. As they receive the instructions they are to share this information. The
Emergency Responder then stands aside quietly.
After many hours the message is offered (often repeatedly) to all attendees, yet of the 10,000 people in attendance...only eight people heed the warning.
To make matters worse, thousands more attendees have since entered the arena, bringing the number of potential victims from 10,000 to 50,000. And many more are entering each minute. In fact, the rate of people entering the building now outpaces the number of people successfully receiving the warning!
This strange strategy was able to warn a paltry 0.1% of the crowd, actually less if we want to be real.
The remaining 99.9% of men, women, and children are now poised to be killed at any moment.
Such a method of emergency communication would be sadistically ineffective, and yet Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that their God is using a method so similar that my analogy scarcely qualifies as one.
According to the Watchtower Organization, God wishes to save as many people as possible from the approaching catastrophe of Armageddon.
The key to survival is to simply recognize the sovereignty of the one true god. This isn’t too challenging a hurdle. Nothing is too fantastic for an omnipotent god; surely just making people aware that he exists should be simple.
Clear your mind of the concept of preaching and imagine you had unlimited power and the desire to save all of humanity by making them aware that you exist. There are no bad ideas here. Not even the sky is the limit.
Could you reveal your godliness unequivocally to the world? Of course you could.
Perhaps a simultaneous personal vision occurs to each human on earth. Made clear in every language at every comprehension level. These synchronized revelations could be sent clearly and beautifully through every culture and into every land.
From the boardrooms executives atop of the tallest skyscrapers to the tribes people hunting amongst the deepest jungle brush. Like a live, celestial broadcast the truth and the hope of everlasting life can be made clear and fairly to all. It would be irrefutable and instantaneous. Anyone choosing to disregard may do so by their own will. The rest may be saved knowing that their survival was not left in the hands of imperfect humans.
Could this be done?
Of course; and we should not accept any logistical limitations for an omnipotent god.
The chambered response is likely “It would be too easy for people to believe.”
Too easy?! Too easy to be saved? Too easy for God’s name to be vindicated? Is that not God’s prime concern? Why on earth should it be anything less than easy?
This idea of a public revelation shouldn’t seem radical. Scripture is full of precedent set for human revelations...they’ve just traditionally had smaller audiences (think Abram, Noah, Moses, or John).
Knowing that public revelation is an option----- let’s reconsider the approach we’ve accepted as the gold standard — --------THE PREACHING WORK.
Watchtower claims that god, like our Emergency Responder, privately revealed his means of salvation to one Charles Taze Russell — a random businessman from Pittsburgh. Russell’s expanding printing company continues to spread this written interpretation through literature to whomever happens to accept it.
Now, more than 100 years later, this message has reached an embarrassing 0.1% of the world’s population.
This leaves the remaining 99.9% of the planet’s population supposedly poised for complete extermination.Additionally, the recruitment work of Jehovah’s Witnesses does not keep pace with the additional non-JWs being born each day. (385,000 babies born each day)
These new “attendees” flood through the “arena” entrance every minute while we’re having a hard enough time passing notes as it is!
In both the analogy and the Witness doctrine, the more time that passes, the greater the loss of life (and the the larger funeral pyre will be need to be to accommodate the corpses). If that outlook isn’t grim enough, add to it that according to Watchtower, their God is the mastermind of the deadly plot itself. T
his renders their version of God …..both the Emergency Responder...and the terrorist.
The fault in my analogy is, of course, that there is no imminent divine threat to life, nor an Emergency Responder that would ever conjure such an absurd strategy.
There’s just a religion peddling such nonsense.
Watchtower claims that God has left the world’s most important message of salvation in the hands of self-evidently ineffectual humans — to which they have designated themselves as the spearhead (a claim which has yielded only self-enrichment for the past 100 years).
The false doctrine of a literal Armageddon is not only unscriptural,
.....but stands at strict odds with the concept of an all-powerful and loving God.
An all-powerful God would have the ability to make his presence unequivocally known and deliver his message clearly and with zero ambiguity. He would maximize salvation and, if he “wanted” to save ALL of humanity, he would accomplish exactly his wish.
And all-loving god could choose no other option.
