What is your IQ? Does it Matter?

i had an aunt that had rheumatic fever as a child and only had an iq the high 70's.

but, absolutely no one was able to bs her on an emotional level.

she had an uncanny ability to see through people's bs.

My IQ was measured extremely high and one of my professors in College told me not to get high minded because IQ means shit in the real world.

For example; Kim Kardashian's IQ hovers at around 95, yet her net worth is about one Billion

Kourtney Kardashia has an IQ score: 80 Yet her net worth is 45 million

Rodney Alcala had an IQ of 160 and was a serial killer with 130 victims.

Albert DeSalvo had an IQ of 172 also known serial killer

Ted Bundy has an IQ of 136 and killed over 36 women

Consider American theoretical physicist Richard Feynman. He actually took the IQ test as a 12 or 13 year old, hitting a squarely 'average' score of 125. And went on to be regarded as one of the most brilliant and influential figures in his field, remaking quantum electrodynamics and winning the Nobel Prize in 1965, all the while joking about his low IQ.
The moral of the story: IQ scores are suspect, and online articles about IQ scores are highly dubious. You'd have to be a sub-90 to believe otherwise.

IQ all begin when Alfred Binet was commissioned to identify students who needed educational assistance. It was this situation that led to the first intelligent quotient (IQ) test.

Mr Binet STRESSED THE LIMITATIONS OF THE TEST, suggesting that intelligence is far too broad a concept to quantify with a single number.

Instead, he insisted that intelligence is influenced by many factors, that it CHANGES OVER TIME, and that it can only be compared in children with similar backgrounds.

But the Political atmosphere immediately used it as a “Measure” of how smart a person is or how dumb a person can be.

As can be seen by the examples above, IQ is a number being used today in a manner it was not intended for. IQ was supposed to be a gauge to determine which students needed educational assistance.

Since 1945 America has fought wars against small, disorganized, third world countries like Vietnam. Also American has never had a war INSIDE THE AMERICAN COUNTRY. They think that this will never happen because America won WW2 and is the most powerful nation in the world.

Russia is not a small disorganized country. Russia is a SUPER POWER WITH 4000 NUCLEAR WEAPONS. And Russia does have the experience and know how to have a war INSIDE THEIR COUNTRY. And now Russia is considering moving Nukes to Venezuela, Mexico, and Cuba to prepare for a TOTAL CONFLICT WITH THE USA the UK.

NATO doesn't even want the Ukraine because it's so corrupt, yet the US media is far left and they are arguing for a war with Russia and winner take all.

And the commander and chief of the USA left 90 billion of weapons in Afghanistan a small disorganized country because of poor planning. You can't do that with Russia and not pay a heavy price. American kids are going to die by the thousands and perhaps American citizens by the millions if this war escalates heavily.

I've been monitoring this for the past 6 months. As of yesterday NATO has sent fighter jets, battle ships, and about 5000, American troops. On top of this American has already prepared the Nukes in case the war shifts toward Russia and Russia starts wining the war.

Russia already has 100,000 troops on the border and Putin has prepared the Nukes also.

At the same time China is starting to target Taiwan and intelligence has said if the war starts in Ukraine, China will take advantage of the situation and invade Taiwan.

This is what happens when the voters don't spend time to investigate the politician running for President. Now millions of democrats are regretting whom they voted for and it's too late.

Terry that was a good post. It's true what you say at least from my observation.

My girl's family side have never been JWS, and all of them have lived interesting, fulfilling lives. No only that, but they put their mind to work and have even been able to leave "Trusts" to all their children. My girl was left with a Trust of several million dollars. She never will have to work to care for herself, yet she went to college and has three degrees because she wants to learn about the world, she is involved several organizations that help children who were born with some defect or have cancer. She has traveled all over the world.

All her relatives who are past 80 look like they are late 40s or early 50s. They don't worry about the end coming, and I think that the JW's preoccupation with Armageddon has a lot to do with acquiring an unhealthy physical and mental makeup that tears at a person's life span.

The JWs on my side of the family who are in their 40s look like they are in their 70s. When I talk with them they have nothing to talk about because they know very little about the world we live in or life in general.

All they take about is the New Order this and the New Order that.

The ones that have woken up have nothing but regrets and are trying to catch up on life.

I always believe that once you become aware of TTATT, and if you are young enough to live a life, ---- LEAVE IMMEDIATLY--- CUT OF ALL WT FRIENDS, START A NEW LIFE, and even if it means losing family, because if you stay for the sake of family who is willing to leave you at a moments notice if don't follow the WT agenda, then it's obvious that that kind of family is not worth staying.

just curious but how do the people off this forum find reddit.

for myself i find reddit to be sadly lacking in the jw world.

i just don't find the depth there e.g one sentence replies, trying to be funny.

Hey LHG. I view reddit every day or so and every time there is some kid being kicked out of the house. Some as young as 15, even though it is against the law.

Several times there are adults in their 30s and 40s and telling their story of how they were kicked out of their home because they didn't want to get baptized.

Most of these stories are success stories relating how they were homeless, struggled, went on to become engineers, lawyers, computer scientist, and so on. And the majority of them STILL have not been able to communicate with their parents. Some for over 30 years and the parents still won't talk to them.

These kids kicked out at a young age are now 50 and still the parents shun them.

Only when the parents finally are ready to die and need financial help will they reach out to their shunned children FOR HELP.

Reddit is a great resource for all these kids, because it gives them direction on what to do when kicked out of the home. They get career advice, legal help when kicked out, and a place to talk to individuasl who went through the same thing.

I venture to say in the next few years the membership will pass 100k.

What's interesting is that most kids on reddit don't need advice regarding the Watchtower religion. They don't seek that kind of help. They are already aware at a young age that the Watchtower is just a religious cult. By the time they are 10 or so, they know, and they are in the planning stages of leaving the WT.

That's why it's so different from this site.

Perhaps the live-span will increase by a couple of hundred years and I live to be 275.

has anyone ever read the new testament- critically- and not theologically?

by theologically i mean not reading the bible with the intention of understanding the nature of god and religious truth.

but instead, reading the bible by analyzing only the facts of what is written, in an unbiased frame of mind to pull out what is actually happening in the written stories.. first of all, if you were to read the nt in chronological order, paul’s 7 authentic letters would come before the gospels of matthew, mark, luke, and john.

This is an important Truth with Massive implications that your average Christian doesn’t understand, but bible scholars whose career is to take apart Historical Data understand very well.

For the average Christian, it makes perfect sense to read the New Testament in its current order of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. This introduces the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and then the very next book of Acts gives us the early history of Christianity and ends with Paul. It all makes perfect sense-UNLESS THE ONE READING IT IS A CERTIFIED HISTORIAN IN BIBLE STUDIES.

Historians read the New Testament in chronological order by date written. In the last 150 years of studying the New Testament in the order they were written, a different picture emerges, one with far reaching implications. Historians usually follow a set of rules that focuses on a precise set of questions.

Which is the oldest bible book?

How was the information passed along?

Was it an eyewitness who wrote the Gospels, was he actually there to witness Jesus walking on water, did he witness the conversation Jesus had with Satan on top of the mountain, did he actually witness the three resurrections, or was it just “HEARSAY?”

In other words were some of the stories in the Gospels just rumors by None-eyewitnesses, that were passed along year after year, decade after decade?

How were these stories found in the 4 Gospels we have today, passed along, edited?

Were the stories “Embellished?

What Theological motivations were operating when these stories were written down?

The story about the resurrection of Jesus it tied up with “The empty tomb.” What happened to the body of Jesus?

I will consider this in later posts.

Much of this information is the result of reading many books by different bible scholars. The more you read what historians say about the matter, the more pieces of information you have available which allows you to put together a better picture of what really happened.

So I guess it depends on the elder body serving in the particular congregation. Some elders are radical and some aren't.

In order to avoid such problems where they scrutinized every minute (very small, tiny, infinitesimal, insignificant) part of your life, it would be better to leave such and environment, and find an other environment where you can live your life in peace without so much drama, which is not good for your health.

I think the best thing for anybody still in the organization to avoid headaches and trouble is don't associate with the members. Better yet, get out completely. Your life will be better.
