"If Jehovah's Witnesses had been then what they are now, I would NEVER have become one!"
That's actually what's happening now with young born in jws. Exjw reddit gain 3000 new members in just a week.
i have a few jw relatives who are true believers.
by this i mean, they believe with all their heart that 1914 was the beginning of the last days, that this is the last generation, that we are in the very last of the last hour of this system of things, and that you should obey the governing body even if it does not make sense.
all of them are in their 60s and up into their 90s there is nothing you can say or show them to convince them or even cause a small doubt that the wt is not god organization.

Plus belief is a spectrum anyway. It’s not as if you have true believers on one side and completely cynical JWs in name only on the other side. There will be some in either extreme, but there are gradations too.
Here’s what I think of that “Spectrum” of belief and how we can perhaps understand “Gradations” in BELIEF.
When Rutherford the Judge introduced the idea of a paradise earth for a GREAT CROWD, as a separate prize for those more attracted to Earth than to Heaven, the count-down began. The count-down being tied to the year 1914 and the Generation that would not die. The Idea was that anyone who saw what happened in 1914, and understood its significance, would also have the privilege of surviving the Great Tribulation and Armageddon without dying-----IF THEY REMAIN FAITHFUL TO THE ORGANIZATION.
This “Idea” created a “Range of Time” that could be measured and counted on for receiving a promise of Everlasting life ----if one remained faithful to this New Religious Organization that was now claiming that God had chosen as his “Only” visible channel on earth.
The Range of Time
being defined as; ONE GENERATION----Before the Great Tribulation and
the ushering in of God’s Kingdom of 1000 years. That meant--you had the chance of Not Dying!
So that first generation, second generation, third generation, and some fourth generation believed that ONE GENERATION was all this Wicked System of Things could last. It was a promise that was specifically laid out in the Holy Bible. It least it made sense back then when most people didn’t even have a bible to examine the context of what Jesus meant by “Generation”
Any person living at that time and who witnessed or was aware of WW1 and Charles Russell’s prediction of the year 1914 would inevitably be convinced that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society had something worth considering. I have to admit, had I been born in any of those generations and believed the Bible was God’s Word to mankind, I would have fallen for it hook, line and sinker. Especially considering that in those days there was no internet, and much ignorance in all fields. Heck, most people had no TV, Telephone, or indoor plumbing. Only the wealthy had limited things that we today take for granted.
So for the next 70 some years all those people that joined the WT organization were True Believers.
But here is where your “Gradations” in belief start to appear----------1975
After 1975 the House started to crumble slowly. For those who had invested their life from the beginning; 1930s, and now in their 60s or so,----- the best choice would be to just wait it out another few years.
20 years passed quickly and they were gone, leaving the 2nd - 3rd and 4th generation to pick up the pieces. By the time the 2nd generation came into play, it was also to late for most of them.
But finally the 3rd generation entered the “Internet Age” Now exjw websites like Free-minds, this one, and others started popping up. Then someone published “The Gentile Times Reconsidered” and websites like this one started discussing main doctrine of the Watchtower Organization vs the Bible. Then the discussions started evolving into a Critical Analysis of the Holy Bible and before long, exjws were questioning, Noah’s flood, The Exodus of Egypt, etc.
So here we are now. 4th Generation of Jehovah’s Witnesses holding down the fort. The Belief ideology of the 1930 has been diluted into various strengths.
The only thing we know for sure is this, the belief ideology today is of different gradations for sure, but none of those gradations will ever come close to the “Strong unshakable Faith” in the promise that;
The Generation that saw and understood the events that started in 1914, will also be the Generation that will witness the Great Tribulation-Armageddon-----and never DIE!
Most born in jws know it a farce. They are fighting to go to school and live their own life. It’s a struggle for now considering the 4th generation is carrying some belief of Armageddon, but that belief is not as strong as the first generation of Jws. So a lot of conflict right now in jw families.
That train of Belief
of the 1930s is long gone and as the years continue to pass, the
higher the probability that the membership will dwindle to less than
a million world wide in 30 years and up, when the last of the 4th
generation is also finally gone.
Only a complete overhaul of all the doctrines, will allow such a religion that is sustained by “Last days that started in 1914 ideology” ----------- to survive.
You can’t keep
preaching 1914 in a world that continues to become more and more
educated and organizations like the Watchtower finally become easy
Targets for media and Government to expose them for what they really
are.
The Australia Royal Commission is just the beginning of a Governmental agency finally putting its foot down and exposing the Watchtower. Imagine 20 years from now,
mt 10:18 (nwt):.
and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.. how has this worked out for jwdom?
i always got the impression that jws would be brought before governments and would give some kind of grand, impressive witness.
And you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.

I say realistically about 2 to 3 million die hard JW'S that are not awaking up to the stupidity.
We're pretty close, I said 4 million. So this is what I think. The Reason the WT is selling all these Kingdom Halls, is because they have already done the research and anticipate that in 20 years they won't need so many Kingdom Halls. They probably already have a plan in place on how they are going to restructure the Organization differently once the TRUE BELIEVERS ARE ALL GONE.
IT'S JUST BUSINESS!

Any jw under 50 years of age I don't consider, for the most part, a True Believer. Most have their doubts and are just hanging in there, until something happens to them personally, and start those wheels turning as a wake up call that something is not right, then research, then WTF---it's not the Truth. And others are just waiting for their parents to die so they can stop attending. Also another group is those who have a spouse that is a true believer. These also just attend to be with their spouse, but once that spouse dies, I doubt they will keep attending.
Then you have the young JWs being born Today and for the past 20 years. This group will never be what you call TRUE BELIEVERS. These were born in the internet era and are aware of all the hypocrisy like all the child sexual abuse. They also are aware of all the bull like the overlapping generation and they hate the door to door work. And these jw just don't want to live the JW TYPE OF LIFE.
So my question; In about 20 years, the majority of those True Believers will pass and be gone. These are the ones that continue to support the WT organization financially. This are the ones that will go down with the ship-so to speak.
I think that at this point today, the Organization mostly comprised of about 4 million True Believers world wide. These are individuals willing to go to prison if the need arouse.
With this in mind, what amount of Jehovah Witnesses can we expect in the year 2040??? I say about 2- million or so, members world wide, maybe less. This will be the last group before the WT turns into some fringe group like the Bible students who still follow Charles Russell.
But they will have members - ONLY IF- they do away with Shunning, Blood Doctrine, and all the other details in doctrine that make them a target by the public. Especially 1914 and 607 are dates that will need to be eliminated if the Organization is to survive.
Because in 20 years, if the Organization is still preaching that we are in the last days since 1914, it will be embarrassing for anyone to become a part of an Organization riddle with so many embarrassing flip-flops that anyone will be able to see and research for themselves.
The Organization can't keep preaching the LAST DAYS FOR 160 YEARS - 2040-1879 = 161 years- without intense ridicule from everybody.

A disease so severe that many people don’t even know they have until they are tested. How many people have had the rona and never knew?
Me! I had it and didn't even know. All my friends were mocking me to go get tested and I finally caved in after a week and went to my personal doctor to get tested. About a week later I got the results back-------I had the Covid antibodies in my system-----and I never knew that mother nature had imbued me with immunity. When all my friends found out I had gotten covid, they all went to get tested and all of those suckers had also gotten Covid and never knew it. Now all of us had the antibodies just like that. It was natural. BTW all of us are in our late 20s - early 30s.

president donald trump’s push for $2,000 covid-19 relief checks all but died wednesday as senate majority leader mitch mcconnell proposed an alternative approach of loading up the bill with other white house priorities that appeared destined to fail.
one priority was for congress to repeal section 230. question: just what is section 230?
answer: if a news site falsely calls you a swindler, you can sue the publisher for libel.
But right now Facebook etc have pulled a bait and switch and said to be pro-free speech but whenever someone exercises that right against their own interests, they find a reason to cancel them.
That's exactly what is happening. It's really a mess and very complex or a better way of saying it is they know how to twist section 230 for their own benefit. I think instead of repealing it, they need to overhaul it somehow. I'm not sure that can be done.

QUESTION: Just what is Section 230?
ANSWER: If a news site falsely calls you a swindler, you can sue the publisher for libel. But if someone posts that on Facebook, you can’t sue the company — just the person who posted it.
Of course there's more to it but repealing section 230 would also have an impact on Ex-jw websites. Any "Libel' against the Watchtower Organization on any exjw website would allow the Watchtower to sue the person who posted the libel and possibly the owner of the website.
This would be a big win for the Watchtower as it could now go legally after all apostates who post negatively against the WT Organization. On top of this, many web news sites would be shut down.
This is a tactic to control social media which manipulated the elections this year.

No one is forced to have a camera and microphone in their living room.
I agree. These days, if a person is still part of WT, after tons of child abuse exposures, and still believes in a God of Justice and his son who is suppose to hate unrighteousness and should protect little children from being raped by people bearing the name of Jehovah and disciples of Jesus Christ, then that's probably where they belong.
To many people raised in WT and age over 60 waking up these days. Even born in children age 12 and up are waking up. Reason being is because these people and children that wake up have a sense of righteousness that conflicts with the "Works" of the Watchtower. Those that continue to stay have chosen to continue with the organization because something is wrong with their morals.
