Yes If someone could explain what possible advantage a government would have for instigating all this.

Studying how America handled the Covid virus tells us a lot about Government. America is comprised of 50 individual Sovereign States. Each with its own State Legislature. Under the terms of Article V of the U.S. Constitution, State lawmakers retain the power to ratify Constitutional amendments which have been proposed by both houses of Congress. Which include lockdown laws.

Each State can also form their own laws that differ from the other States. A good example of this is Gun law. In some States like New York, California, Chicago, it’s almost impossible for a citizen to have a carry permit for a Gun. In other States like Texas, Florida, Arizona, it easy for a citizen to have a carry permit and own a Gun.

Each State has their own Governor that acts sort of like the President of the USA.

If a person with a legal carry permit in Texas drives to New York where it is illegal to have a carry permit, that person can go to prison for a long time, because the Governor in New York is like a dictator whereas the Governor in Texas is not, and both States haves their own Sovereignty with their different set of laws.

When Covid appeared in 2020, the World went crazy. Reason being is that all the medical experts were contradicting each other. Some were saying this and others were saying that about the virus. In other words—they were being “Human” which basically means---they know very little----including the experts-------but act like they know everything.--------Sort of like the Governing Body of jws.

Government Knows even less. So each Government of each State had to calculate and reason which expert sounded like he knew what he was talking about and apply that idea to his own Personal State that he governed.

Some State Governors studied the case and Others Governors didn’t study the case and choose to go by their instincts.

Some Governors like Governor Cuomo of New York felt like the best thing to do was lock up all the elderly together in nursing homes. Surprise thousands of elderly died.

Governor Gavin Newson of California decided to go to extremes and lock down everything and made sure anyone, including one lone surfer miles out in the sea, and by himself be arrested for breaking his laws on lock down. Governor Newson and his family were exempted of course from any lock down.

What you said is actually happening in many Democratic States. Many of these State Governments are being recalled and replaced with other Government

usually, with one accord decide to place fear in the hearts of their populace, drive apart families, close businesses and cause a financial downturn which will likely ensure they themselves are voted OUT in the next election.

On the other hand there were many States that decided not to go to extremes in locking down the State. Instead they decided to open up the economy, and warn the elderly and those with medical condition that they were at risk and needed to isolate themselves from everyone and make arrangements for food and other necessities.

One Governor that did this was in Florida and his State is prospering to the extreme. He has even filed several lawsuits against the Federal Government for certain lockdowns.

So the lock down and fear by some Governors is because they are ignorant, or stupid, or power hungry, or just plain crazy and like to see people suffer.

Other States were fortunate to have a Governor that choose no lock downs. Some of those States had less deaths than those who did lock down the entire State.

Others had the same death as those who did lock down their entire State but their economy didn’t crash.

Here is the thing I learned. Don’t live in a State where your Governor is stupid, ignorant, power hungry, or just plain crazy, because it could cost you-your life or your livelihood.

So all these lock downs were not planned, but some individuals are using it as an opportunity to enrich themselves and want to continue the lock-down.

Example; I have a store that sell groceries and other needed household items, you and a thousand others have as brick and mortar store that sell groceries too. The Governor is my brother or close friend. I tell my brother that if he locks down all the one thousand stores for a year or three, then all the customers that bought groceries from those stores have no choice now but to buy at my store, and my profits will ZOOM!!!!

I promise my brother 40% of the profits if he keeps the lock down for as long as possible resulting in both of us becoming RICH when the hysteria is over. In other words----keep pushing the fear to the masses.

What incentive do you see here for the lock-down and certain stores that continue to remain open.

(Walmart, Amazon, etc.)

And who keeps the thousands of homes that have defaulted because both husband and wife lost their jobs because of the lock down.(Banks)

And who made around 26 billion in profits in 2020 because of covid. (You know the vaccines were not free)

NOW APPLY THIS WORLD WIDE TO EACH GOVERNMENT IN EACH COUNTRY.

how many JWs are secretly fearful (or even convinced) that they won't be deemed worthy enough to be there?

I remember hearing the speaker at either the Convention or Kingdom hall use this scripture.

(Zephaniah 2:2, 3) All you who are not proud, come to the Lord.
You who obey his laws, come to him.
Do what is right. Learn to be humble.
MAYBE---- you will escape
on the day the Lord shows his anger.

I woke up early in life. It’s not because I was smarter than my brothers and sisters. In fact, Reflecting back, I actually don’t know why I didn’t embrace the Watchtower teachings? I want to say the internet---but not really.

One thing I do remember is my Grandmother sitting me on her lap and talking to me about how wonderful life would be in the paradise earth. She didn’t talk about the animals so much. But she kept painting this picture that in the New World, I wouldn’t have to worrying that someone was going to break in our house and kill mom and dad. She told me that in the New earth, no one would kidnap little girls and do bad things to them. She told me that I wouldn’t have to worry about losing my mom and dad to sickness. (By age 6 I had already witnesses some of these things in the News)

Since one of my friends died in the first grade of school, grandma knew that I was aware that death took little kids like me, so She kept painting this picture that I would never have to worry about dying in the New World..

Even to this day, even though I know the Bible is a fairy tale book and the Watchtower is a religious cult, Sometimes When I’m in bed and everyone is asleep, I imagine what Grandma used to tell me.

It’s was a wonderful feeling believing that everything was going to be ALL-RIGHT. You actually sleep better.

There was this soothing comfort that if mom and dad died, --it wasn’t the End. I would eventually see them again. It really makes you fear Nothing.

Someone asked what 60 and above old jw believers are thinking with all the changes in the organization. Well I still have a lot of family that are jw hard core believers, and they are 60 plus years old.

They talk to me because I was never baptized. So I ask them what they think of all the changes in the Organization. No more Awake mag. No more yearbook, no Door to Door, no Kingdom Hall meetings, no Conventions.

When they answer, they have this look in their face,---the same look I HAD, when I was a little kid and imagined how comforting the promise of a New World was to me, when Grandma explained what it would be like to live there.

They don’t care about the changes. Instead they talk about seeing their wife again. They are anxious to see their daughter that died years ago. They talk about being young again, and they do so with this smile on their face. You can almost feel that they are imagining themselves being young again.

They remind me----or maybe they are reminding themselves, that in the New World there will be no more crooked Presidents, no more crooked Politicians, and no more corrupt leaders anywhere in the world. They talk about not having to struggle just to survive. No Crime anywhere. Not a single animal will be abused. Nice housing for everyone. No one will have a baby with cancer or birth defects.

But the most important thing to them is that they will be reunited with those they love-----and lost.

I can't blame them. The feelings that a person goes through when they lose their wife, or mother, Their child, is almost unbearable. Or what about widows. I've talked to some, and when they really open up, and tell you their feelings, they make you cry.

Then I remember a book I read a couple of years ago, recommended on Reddit. CAPTIVES OF A CONCEPT-by Cameron.

And basically the author said that all jws were victims.

I thought about this for a while and realized that one of the definitions for VICTIM is;

one that is tricked or duped

Everyone that has been or is a JW wasn’t given all the information to make an appropriate, correct, decision.

And not every JW has what it takes, whether mentally, emotionally, or physically to escape the DEEP INDOCTRINATION, that holds them CAPTIVE.

Just like not every single girl that is kidnapped at a young age and used as a sex slave has what it takes to escape that type of life. The kidnappers usually ingrain in the young child that leaving will only lead to death.

So I know the hard core jws do some crazy things like shun their children, refuse blood transfusions, (although that seems to be disappearing little by little) and other crazy stuff.

But I feel empathy for them. Had they been given all the information beforehand, I doubt anyone would join the Watchtower Organization.

But the allure of a New World, where righteousness is to Dwell, and death will be no more, can be a very strong incentive for someone who has lost their children, their wife, or their husband in death.

The changes in the Organization the past decade or more is Nothing compared to that comforting feeling that went through your mind when you still believed---IT WAS THE TRUTH!

More than anything else-----I feel great pity for them.

Come on, 185,000 bodies lying everywhere. Who counted the bodies to put the sum total in the bible?

How long would it take to count 185,000 bodies scattered ever-where?

How long would it take to count all those scattered bodies if you counted one ever minute??

Some people are pissed that they have to do this for around 1% of the population but its about being empathic toward community responsibility.

Hence the intent to social restrictions

Actually, thinking that the virus is about 1% of the population, shows a lack of empathy for the 99% of the population that will also be affected, in one way or another by the Covid virus.

Not ONE Person out of almost 8 billion is immune from the effects of the virus. The medical part is just one of the side effects of the virus. There are other ways the virus is deadly that shouldn’t be overlooked.

There are over a hundred different ways that the virus can become deadly to the rest of society besides the elderly and those with some type of medical condition.

I’ll name just ONE that has nothing to do with catching the virus, yet can be deadly and cause a death.

Last year a few months after Covid started, several Medical Organizations warned the governments that

locking down the entire economy would create a spike in suicides among ------young children and young couples.

British Medical Association said;

Quote; Widely reported studies modelling the effect of the covid-19 pandemic on suicide rates predicted increases ranging from 1% to 145%,6 largely reflecting variation in underlying assumptions. Particular emphasis has been given to the effect of the pandemic on children and young people.

But at the end of the day scientists need funds...for most of them, it's just another business that needs to profit.

Humans in general are not to be trusted.

I took several Psychology classes in College, not for credit but because I wanted to learn something about the human mind. Serial Killers always fascinated me and I always wondered if some humans are just plain evil.

To my surprise, come to find out, "that most people that commit evil acts are neither perverted nor sadistic’, but ‘terrifyingly normal’" ---(exception are those born with some brain abnormality)

In one semester we focused on why "Adolph Eichmann, the Nazi operative responsible for organizing the transportation of millions of Jews and others to various concentration camps in support of the Nazi’s Final Solution," which was to get rid of all the witnesses by killing them.

Was he pure evil?

Hanna Arendt a German-born American political theorist found that Eichmann was just an ordinary, rather bland, bureaucrat, who in her words, was ‘neither perverted nor sadistic’, but ‘TERRIFYINGLY Normal’.

What I learned was that Humans in general never per-mediate evil acts, but instead,---situations that transpire, tip them into doing the unthinkable-----in many historic cases----total genocide of certain groups of people.

So Can one do evil without being evil? --------The answer is a resounding yes!

The most mild, humble, unassuming person, can do the most heinous act unimaginable to another human,-----and not bat an eye.

I believe the political climate and the virus, is making people do things that ordinarily they just wouldn’t do.

Think people in congregations this day's wants the same thing as non JWs. Status and money. Plus they also want to give the appearance they spiritual strong. It's a complicated balance act.

It's actually too much because of attending all the meetings, conventions, door to door service makes it very difficulty to pursue other things like education, a better job------OH WAIT!---there is no more Kingdom Hall meetings, no more Conventions, and no more door to door!

There are other things. My ex was hardcore PIMI. She kept complaining and pressuring me to reach out for more "privileges.

I didn't think of that.

Kind of confusing considering that Jesus said;

Matthew 8:20 “Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

"Jesus made the point that there is a cost to following Him. The scribe who said he wanted to follow Jesus wherever He went was not considering the lifestyle Jesus led.

Jesus was functionally homeless; He and His disciples stayed in the homes of those who would take them"

On the other hand the religious leaders did seek privileges of sorts.
