i’m reservations, pimo elder.

i’m in no position to leave the organisation, maybe some people will see that as weak or whatever, but we have to all go down our own path in life.. i would like to be able to wake people up in my congregation, how do you think best to do this?

any ideas?.

WHY?

They are happy believing what they do, otherwise they would have left a long time ago.

You only have one life to live---why waste it on trying to help people who are not asking for your help. Let them live their own life and you live your own life. If they want to wake up they will.

I was raised in the religion---born in. I left home at 18 and never looked back. I have a huge family of brothers, sisters, step-brothers, step sisters, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and all of them were Jehovah's Witnesses.

For years they shun me. I never tried to wake them up because they were happy.

You have to admit that there is a certain calming effect that believing in a paradise earth has on the majority of Jws. That calming effect keeps them content with life. They have no desire for anything else. Why would you want to take that away from them?

It's been about 12 years since I left the WT organization and my family.

Now about 90 percent of my family have all woken up. And I did absolutely NOTHING TO HELP THEM WAKE UP.

They did it all on their own.

No frustration, no walking around egg shells, no wasting time trying to help people who are content and happy in the WT religion.

Instead I helped myself by going to school and starting a business. I just started a few more different businesses and I'm going to be 31 years old soon. I could actually retire now but I love the game and I love working.

And as for my family that use to shun me? Now they invite me for just about everything. Now they ask me sincere questions about the Watchtower religion and the bible. And they listen carefully to what I say.

I couldn't have done this if I had wasted my time staying in the Organization so as to please my family, and wasted my time trying to help them wake up.

If you have a wife and kids then do what you have to do. But don't waste your life trying to help the rest of the congregation wake up.

in a scene reminiscent of the fall of saigon, the usa embassy staff have been evacuated by helicopter.. for a third time in asia ( a fourth, if you count usa supported chiang kai shek's defeat in mainland china) usa supported forces have been defeated.

more than 1 trillion dollars wasted and a huge deathtoll (both sides) afghanistan is back to where it started,.

will the taliban behave differently this time ?

200 such bombs dropped over a range of cities and spread out farms would kill something like 100,000,000 people (out of about 300,000,000) and destroy almost all the infrastructure for energy (oil refineries, power grids,...) communications, transportation, manufacturing,... The resulting soot would probably cause cool dark weather, disrupting even what farming could be carried out without fuel, fertilizers, etc.

Radiation sickness would be widespread. Probably most of the people not killed in the initial strike would soon die.

Maybe bands of hunter-gatherers and small-scale cultivators would somehow survive. But it would be survival like millions of years ago----Cave men senerio.

This is one thing JWs are not concerned and lose sleep over. Because they believe with all their heart that Jehovah would never allow that to happen.

Yet he did allow it to happen in Japan.

Are Japanese people sub-creatures and we are not? And that's why Jehovah would never allow Nukes to hit America?

My sibling then proceeded to ask, in a clearly joking way, "What if Jehovah was tricking us and we don't go to paradise?" He was laughing and clearly just asked it to be antagonistic but my mom took it so seriously.

She, of course, got very defensive and explained the whole "Jehovah loves us and won't trick us" thing. My brother just kept pushing and asked, "What if he was lying?" This prompted the age old "Jehovah cannot lie. Just like no matter what we do we cannot fly, Jehovah cannot lie."

The last push was my brother asking, "What if he's lying about not being able to lie?" This just set off my mom into fear mongering mode and she basically threatened him with getting his "eyes picked out by ravens" for being rebellious and "saying bad things" about Jehovah.

A bit much for something that was clearly a joke, as I could tell from his incessant laughter that got harder with each antagonistic question. And her reaction was clearly what he was going for, up until the fear mongering part at least.

He's still clearly believes in Jehovah, which is understandable because its all he knows, but if he can realize that people can lie about not being liars and then apply that to God, then who knows when he gets older. He might view it as a joke now, but I'm sure his mind can connect the dots when he's older.

I was also skeptical about certain things when I was his age, and younger. Like I'd always think, why do we say everything *must* have a creator but Jehovah just *existed* forever before even making us. It was quite the mindfuck to just have accepted that this one entity existed just because while simultaneously being told that things cannot exist without a creator. I know both things are very simple conclusions anyone could come to, but it's quite impressive to me since the cult heavily ingrains in us that skepticism is basically apostasy, to the point where adults don't even like to entertain past a certain point of skepticism. If you're not satisfied by the first answer to your question and ask more, then you'll be looked at funny.

But look at me now, from a young skeptic to a filthy apostate lmao. I'm sure he's gonna be able to figure out Watchtower is bullshit eventually.

Why wasn’t O’Donnell charged with receiving stolen goods.

firstly i appreciate the work mark o’donnell does for the xjw community.

no doubt this has also been discussed numerous times before.

but with regard to those documents that were illegally stolen in that vice documentary.

there was never a question about why I had received these documents, and never a question about why someone removed them from congregations in Massachusetts and elsewhere.

They were concerned with the crimes contained within the elders' notes, which was the priority.

That's what Law and Justice is all about.

It's not about whether the documents were taken illegally or not. That's something a defense attorney would try to use, so as to try to get the "Guilty" free of charge.

Heinous crimes have been committed and the WT has covered up hundreds of crimes where adults Fuc*ed little children. Let that language sink in for a while.

A lot of those in leadership positions should go to prison for covering up such crimes.And the world should know that this organization has covered such crimes for decades.

This would push thousands if not millions of JWs to finally wake up.

If all GB members died at once?

i don't suppose anyone knows for sure, but do we have any kind of hint of what would happen if all of the governing body members died at the same time- such that nobody was left to appoint successors?

in lieu of any solid evidence, i'd also be interested in hearing some speculation based on what we already know about the organizational structure.. it would certainly throw a wrench in either the teaching that the faithful and discreet slave will survive into the great tribulation and/or the implied doctrine that the the gb succession arrangement is justifiable biblically.

let me firmly disclaim any implication that i am encouraging violence or wishing death on the governing body.

If all GB members died at once?

This would be a good thing. Reason for this is because the OLD METHODS and DOCTRINES, are taught to every New anointed member that is recruited. This is why they continue to keep the silly and dangerous doctrines of 1914, NO Blood, and Shunning.

If a New Group takes over, they will probably be in their 40s and 50s with NEW IDEAS on how to run the organization.

Just like all Cultures throughout History, New Generations of people Change the direction of Political Kingdoms and Religions.

The New Group would not be influence by the Old geezers in how to make changes for the well being of the Organization.

Seeing that the Organization is shrinking as a result of the major OLD teachings like 1914, Blood Doctrine, and shunning, these New Leaders would probably discard all these Old teachings to save the Organization from completely becoming obsolete.

Getting rid of these three major teachings would allow the Organization to continue growing again.

Is it possible that this Administration or whoever is running the show did this as A REASON or EXCUSE to produce more weapons from the companies that produce them and to make their investors happy.

That would really be diabolical to the max!
