If someone doesn’t want people speculating then tell the truth. You can’t just say we won’t tell but please don’t speculate. You have to set the record straight

June 2024 WT: Don't talk about Anthony Morris
by neat blue dog inthe latest study edition mentions hypothetical scenarios of jws who are no longer serving at bethel or no longer elders, etc.
and says we shouldn't speculate, as defaming them could border on slander.. we could unintentionally defame someone by spreading negative information.
..... would it be proper to speculate on the reasons why these adjustments were made and to share that opinion with others?.

That elder is wrong. It’s only apostasy the kind Lloyd Evans is doing. Or promoting serious sin which I’m not sure what it means.
Everything else you are only DFed for 90 days

the toll of being PIMO
by enoughisenough infor those of you who are pimo, how do you feel it may be effecting your mental and physical health?
is it easy to pretend to be what you are not?
how do you feel about falsely supporting the pimi which builds them up and therefore an org you don't believe in?

It’s not a toll.
Being a JW from now on is totally different from only recent times.
You can basically do whatever you want. Sex, blood, smoking, drugs, rock and roll.
What will happen is elders will ask are you showing genuine repentance. If you say you are then that is enough. If the elders don’t think you are telling the truth that you have stopped they will inform you that they have decided to DF you.
You can appeal and tell the new bothers that those last elders had it in for you and you really are sorry. On that appeal the direction is that the elders have to take your word for it that you are really repentant.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out because there is a loophole where JWs can get away with anything now.

Will recent dress-code changes affect the WTS negatively?
by Wonderment inin a span of a few months time, we have had many unexpected changes announced by the jw organization.
some here have expressed the belief that a great number of witnesses will leave the religion.
in fact, there is a great probability the opposite will be true.. yeah, ancient hardliners will have a hard time assimilating these changes, but the younger generation will likely welcome these changes.

What Makes You an Apostate?
by Aletheia1914 ini was really excited about all the wonderful news related to these changes.
i disassociated back in 2019 and my parents have not spoken with me since then.
my brother who never got baptized kind of serves as a liaison between me and my parents as they will not contact me directly.

"to question the GB is to question jehovah".
Things have changed. The vaccine mandate changed eve and it’s been downhill from there.
A vast number questioned them pushing the vax and many of these went against direction and did not get any vaccine at all, many more went against direction to stay fully vaccinated and stopped getting their boosters.
They now say the GB is not inspired or infallible so maybe they made a mistake saying the vaccine is safe?
I know others talking about Steve Lett saying babies were little enemies of God. They all said he was wrong. And they said that was a silly thing to say.
loads more examples like that, are they all apostate? No not at all.
In the congregations many are now saying we will get more new light which means they doubt the current understanding the GB have. This is not apostate.
If you make videos or write a book something along those lines then you are spreading apostate material this is how far you have to go

I was just watching his second to latest video review of 2023 worst videos. He says please forgive me if I don’t cover the same things I have all covered and then does exactly that.
He even says if Tibor is gracious so I’m not sure if this was filmed a long time ago?

New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

I wonder how many millions of dfed ones have gotten calls from family or friends and then elder’s contacted them?
it could be in the tens of millions

consequences for going against the direction.
by jehovaxx inthere are no serious consequences for doubting the gb.
there are no consequences for going against the direction.
we can now celebrate anything.. what will happen if you take blood, celebrate xmas and birthdays ect?.

think that’s what the WTS has in mind. They appear to trying to make it so that being disfellowshipped almost never occurs
You got it exactly

There is no indication of any other change to the appeals process itself at all
No that is wrong. There has been a change.
The new direction says at the appeal of the person says they are repentant ie they are sorry and they won’t do it again that is enough. It will overturn anything else any other elders say.
The brother I know from Chelmsford Bethel told me there is a series of WTowers coming out about these changes and a new Elders book in the works. I think he has some info about what will be in these.
The largest change could be summed up by saying in the past it was upto what the elders thought about if they were repentant
now it’s what they say

does not actually sound like a change to the appeal process itself.
There has definitely been a change to the appeals process there is no point standing there saying there hasn’t.
Slim explained it well when he said perhaps this is the most significant change, I suggest you read his post again
The change to the appeal procedure is pretty significant. In fact maybe it’s the most significant change when you think about it. Because in the past an appeal committee was only allowed to overturn the decision if they were convinced that the original committee had been wrong about the person not being repentant at the original judicial committee. In other words it was not good enough if the person had become repentant meantime, the only function of the appeal committee was to assess whether the original judgement had been correct on the day, not to make a new judgement in light of any new expressions of repentance. In practice it has been reported that appeals very rarely overturned the original decision, and only in cases that were so clearly wrong or, more likely, damaging to the organisation in some way if processed that the circuit overseer or branch got involved to reverse the decision.
The new procedure sends out the clear message that the GB wants elders to avoid disfellowshipping people at all costs. Because now the appeal committee is allowed to reassess the repentance of the person at the second committee and, reading between the lines, encouraged to actively look for signs of repentance in order to avoid disfellowshipping, which is as different to the old appeal procedure as you could imagine.
