  personally i hate bible ping-pong.

  i don't think it ever gets anywhere, i don't think it solves anything and i don't think the participants ever make any head room.

  however i will say in this case, i have been proven wrong.

  Does God enjoy watching us discuss and indeed argue about all this stuff and his being? Why does he make it so difficult to understand?

  I think if God was real he would have clearly defined his nature to us instead of all the gobbledy-gook found in the Scriptures. The scriptures to me seem to have been written or modified by 2 opposing camps - thus we have a bunch of verses supporting jesus=jehovah and another bunch written by the other group which believed Jesus is Gods son.

  I don't ever see a clear winner in any of these discussions. Maybe God wants us to disagree. It's just all so depressing.

  he's in very serious condition in the hospital.. that's all the information i have for now.. barb.

  One story from the Aust bethel was the Branch Overseer from the 1980's (I think) was an alcoholic. He was booked drink driving back to Bethel one night and was subsequently kicked out. Apparently he struggled with alcholism for the rest of his life but sadly kept coming back to the JWs, so continued inline for a life of humilation from Watchtower discipline.

  Was this perhaps David Madzay, an Aussie D.O??

  I believe David was found in tragic circumstances some years later. A really nice guy from what I heard but rumours of being an alcoholic.
