as for myself, after extensive study i have concluded that it's not possible for me to trust the bible and so i am not active anymore.
however, let me please add something to the discussions here:.
After 38 hellish years in that cult I have nothing but bad feelings for the organisation and the people in it that could admit to their cognitive dissonance and leave the lie.
I have found far nicer people getting out of there and starting anew.
After many congregations around Australia I can only pick about 20% of them as genuine and kind people.
Most of them have become hard-hearted and selfish from the orgs teachings.
this is something i heard an elder say... .
is this possible?.
how many were baptized in all of 2012?.

been reading this forum for 2 years and this site has been great help for me.. currently my situation is difficult, im slowly fading and trying to make new friends outside jw.. i fear of losing many friends and family members, but i know that some point i just have to do it, its my life not theirs.. havent attendet meetings for 2 years now, life is better and instead waiting armageddon, im planning future to myself.
i will tell more about my situations when im ready for it.... .

my son grew up with one of the young brothers in the kingdom and after graduation both him and my son left the kh.
the young man who left the hall fell into the wrong crowd and i mean a really dangerous crowd and as a result of him getting involved in illegal activity he was murdered.
i really feel for this young man, because he was a decent kid.
Such a sad story, these scumbags contributed to his messed up life then saw him out with a pathetic funeral. Disgusting, but sadly not uncommon.
for those of you who have travelled the world over, which country or city will you consider the place to live in the world.

please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..
It has ruined any relationship I could have had with my parents and siblings. I was kicked out of home at 15 for not agreeing with the truth, they shunned me then. Again when I was DF at 20 (later reinstated FOR my family) and now that I have finally said ENOUGH!!
I am now bad association. I can finally see though that it is THEM... my family and all the other suckers in that org that are in the wrong.
We have every right to choose our own path in life without anyone else passing judgement.

The one bad feeling that leaving the cult didnt take away was the awful premonition that mankind has already hit the self destruct button, with the environment, greed, violence, wars etc.
I often feel like something bad (not armaggedon) is around the corner. I guess 911 didnt help calm that fear in the back of my mind.
Having said that though I am in a way better place then I ever have been mentally in my life.
i thought of one that happened to me, i think i was 16 and regular pioneering at the time.
i was in fs with my friend, i think she had to be about 18, and we were in a van with older married sisters, my friend and i were the only single ones.
there were 6 of us in this van and my friend and i of course were forced to sit in the back (meaning we couldn't escape by jumping out of a moving van), anyway, the conversation turned to discussing molestation.. the two oldest sisters sitting in the front then started going into detail about how they had been molested, and it wasn't just "i was molested by..." no they went into detail.. i was shocked!
We were close friends with an elder and his wife. My Hubby didnt go preaching so I usually went with them. They were both huge gossipers and so I heard some of the nastiest stuff happening in the cong from the horses mouth. Especially the Elder, he would go to town on those he didnt like, telling me things like sisters selling their bodies for pioneering money, brothers with porn and masturbation problems, marital problems, who had an affair with whom and how it was hushed up because of their congregational status etc. I soon came to realise that it wasnt just others they were talking about. Gossip soon got around about my Husband and that he had a drinking problem, I had confided in the elder that I was worried about Hubby as he had a really bad JW family life eg. pedophilia, violence and drug abuse-by his parents and siblings and had hit the bottle hard for a few weeks. For Gods 'true' people they can be absolute scum!!!
Im in Australia so hopefully no one reads my post and goes OMG that already happened. We are always behind the US.
