I remember seeing this book somewhere years ago. It is straight forward Evangelical theology and if authentic, it must mean such a movement was within bethel. I think for anyone who had any sympathy with the Russell/JW worldview, the alarm bells would go off right away

I'm feeling cold
by Lost in the fog inwhen i was a jw i would look to the bible or the wt society to answer all of my problems.. now as an older person i get cold in the wintertime and have trouble getting warm down to bad circulation.
i found an answer in the bible at 1 kings 1:2, but i don't think my pimi wife will let me apply this bible principle.
lol.

Brock Talon, Im sure they made her smell especially good.
Yeah I suppose David has caused a lot of offense. I never experienced the combination of being a believer and being under legalism (my faith came after my JW experience), but David got off easy and is more a Conan the barbarian than a saint. On the other hand as a wretched sinner with my share of sins, I can sympatize with David and enjoy the grace given to him. If I was king oh man

Watchtower View on Resurrection - All Panda Bears?
by Sea Breeze ina recent wt study was titled: “the resurrection reveals god’s love, wisdom and patience.
apparently there was a lot of speculation on how those resurrected will be needing to be taught god’s ways in last weeks wt study.
does anyone know how the watchtower tries to weasel out of the "resurrection of damnation"?.

Sea Breeze,
I asked for the traditional understanding of how people in general could die a second death. You said:
"The point is, that from a consistent biblical point of view, a person cannot die a second time unless he is first made alive again through the reintegration of his soul, body and spirit, in a resurrection."
In Revelation 20:12 we read "the dead were judged". It does not sound like it is the grand resurrection that makes them alive. In the traditional view, the spiritually dead die a second time, but they were never made alive. I am curious that you yourself say they are first made alive through being raised. I think the traditional view is that they are the spiritually dead simply die a second time because they dont cut it, they dont meet the requirements for being made alive. Forgetting tradition, we can easily find some that fits the bill of being made alive spiritually and then dying a second time and we not surprisingly finds it in other non pauline writings; Jude 12 and Hebrews 6:4-6.
The only guy I recall ever trying to say the resurrection of the damned made them alive was Jonathan Edwards on1 Corinthians 15. But other reformed realized that was an ill digested thought. In general the traditional view is that 1 Corinthians 15 only adresses the saved.

Sea Breeze, how does the traditional position explain that there is a second death. How are people made alive a second time in order for them to die a second time?

Second death implies a resurrection inbetween first and second death, although we never read of the term first death. Jude 12 speaks of those in the congregation "twice dead". So the ones who endure first death can hardly be mere unbelievers rejecting the gospel. They have to be fallen from some higher state of favor. JW would of course argue this refers to those knowing the wonders of JW life and then rejecting it. A more contextual solution would be that it refers to a people who have been given special favor and then fall away. In Preterism we would immidiately think of the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 and judgment on the chosen nation. Of course nothing in the Bible says they will be not ever be redeemed from this judgment but that would from the perspective of the Bible writers be far into the future .

Everapostate,
Im sorry to hear that. A lot of sad stuff going on in the JW religion. And it seems to all fall and stand with the faith in the JW leadership and their spin on the bible, not really the bible as such. They believe the the JW leadership knows the truth all until something makes them see the leadership with other eyes

EverApostate,
Sure you will say so, naughty you. My point was that the context of 1 Corinthians 15 is quite different to Lazarus.
On a different note, I dont think JW apply 1 Corinthians 15 to the ordinary folk, just the 144,000
