"1956: The sanctity of marriage is clarified"
What do they mean here?
What are their examples of"non-abhorrent pornography"?
study article 22 is headed.
"keep traveling on the "way of holiness".
this article states that since 1919, having left babylon the great in that year, jws today are traveling on 'the way of holiness" (a figurative highway) as it takes them through the spiritual paradise and leads them through to future kingdom blessings.. they say that 'preparatory work' of that highway began centuries earlier.

how does it compare to the old one?.
has anything changed much?.
how do i get a copy?

How do I get a copy? A hard copy, that is. The local JWs sometimes have a trolley/cart set up in my local town centre; might I be able to obtain a copy from them?
I could always call the local congregation, but I don't want to be on their radar.
Would they charge me for a copy, or would they expect (or "encourage me to give") a donation?
i was wondering about the jw attitude towards getting tattoos.. redditors suggest that the only jws who have them would have got them before they were baptised.. jw.org gives a meally-mouthed "true christians wouldn't" response.. but no-one (that i've seen so far) answers the question i'm actually asking: is getting a tattoo after being baptised a disfellowshipping offence?.
if not disfellowshipable, how would a typical jw congregation treat someone who got a tattoo after baptism?
would they really treat it like it is a conscience issue?.
Careful, thanks for searching out and posting those images. Not a fan of tattoos myself so no matter how cool some of them seem, I would never get anything like that done to myself ๐ฑ The t-shirts suggest that the PIMI types are getting bolder than they were 20 years ago, when I still had anything to do with the dubs. I doubt that they would be worn on field service though; it's still suits and ties, isn't it?
The stuff I read online suggested to me that it would be officially considered a "conscience issue", but I guess that privately, people would be judged as "spiritually immature". Thanks Journeyman, for reminding me of that term!
only a matter of time!
here are just a few examples of what is inferred now, but will become 'new lights.'.
i'm sure thousands more verses will be 'refined.
How do the GB pronounce "Warwick"? The British (and Australian) way: phonetically spelled as "Worrick"? Or like Dionne Warwick ("War-wick")?
following from the convention attendance thread i looked back on my notes to see the memorial attendances over the pandemic.
this is what i found.
i donโt have any pre-pandemic attendances but iโd estimate them around 80 to 90 or so in recent years.
Is 80 to 90 a normal congregation size, pre-pandemic? I would have assumed larger than that ๐ค.
how safe is personal information when elders do not follow their instructions?.
from spain.
announcementjune 23, 2023for elders1.
"go-bags"
They don't use the term "bug-out bag"? ๐
embedded in the cleveland ohio convention.
pre covid attendance was always 7k+ this year 4500.. 37baptised mixed bag.
less then half were children.. as far as patience goes, it can certainly help you be a better person when dealing with others but needless to say, this having patience waiting for jehovah is pure b.s.!
To paraphrase Jesus's question in Luke 15, who acted more like a neighbour: The Watchtower Society, which didn't lift a finger to help, or the UN?

Doesn't even read as well as The Bible in Cockney!๐บ Point taken, though!
thought inspired by my post on tattoos: within the watchtower organisation, how many "conscience issues" actually are?
are people who actually do exercise their consciences in grey areas painting a target on their backs for the more hard-line dubs?
are they quietly avoided because " bad associations spoil useful habits"?

Are they quietly avoided because " Bad associations spoil useful habits"? Are they watched especially carefully for any actual disfellowshipable behaviour?
What are some examples of "conscience issues" that most dubs in good standing would avoid anyway?
what a pathetic state if affairs.. https://used-tools-equipment.com/.
are they really this clueless and desperate?.
most organizations would just toss this stuff in the trash bin..
I can't see any point to buying old tat formerly owned by "The Faithful and Discrete Slave"(tm) beyond the novelty value. Perhaps to make a stop-frame animation video for YouTube, showing how your second hand spanner is possessed by the vengeful spirit of Judge Rutherford. But any second hand tools could be used for that.
The second hand computers might be interesting if any recoverable data were left on there. But I doubt even the GB would be that stupid and I doubt that those computers contained anything of value.
