What are these donation resolutions? Are they a pledge to give a certain amount? Are they individual pledges, or is it at the congregational level. Is the amount really decided by the elders as to how much they can shake-down the congregation for, or does Bethel decide how much they expect each congregation to cough up, while pretending that it is the elders' decision?
My understanding was that donations were tied to the literature. That each JW was expected to take and distribute a certain amount of literature and were expected to "donate' a certain amount for it. Now that they're not printing hard copies of the magazines (or even issuing the magazines on a fortnightly basis anymore) how are they maintaining the donation levels?
Will the GB ever decide to announce the "new light" of tithing?

Damn! This was an unintentional repost; I thought the first one wasn't going through.

Is it very different from the old version?
Has it changed much?
How can I get a copy? A hard copy, that is. The JWs sometimes have a trolley/cart in my local town centre. Could they get me a copy? Would they charge me for it, or expect a "donation"?
I could possibly call the local congregation but I don't want to end up on their radar.

May 23 Watchtower
by Listener instudy article 22 is headed.
"keep traveling on the "way of holiness".
this article states that since 1919, having left babylon the great in that year, jws today are traveling on 'the way of holiness" (a figurative highway) as it takes them through the spiritual paradise and leads them through to future kingdom blessings.. they say that 'preparatory work' of that highway began centuries earlier.

How do I get a copy? A hard copy, that is. The local JWs sometimes have a trolley/cart set up in my local town centre; might I be able to obtain a copy from them?
I could always call the local congregation, but I don't want to be on their radar.
Would they charge me for a copy, or would they expect (or "encourage me to give") a donation?

Jehovah's Witnesses and Tattoos
by NotFormer ini was wondering about the jw attitude towards getting tattoos.. redditors suggest that the only jws who have them would have got them before they were baptised.. jw.org gives a meally-mouthed "true christians wouldn't" response.. but no-one (that i've seen so far) answers the question i'm actually asking: is getting a tattoo after being baptised a disfellowshipping offence?.
if not disfellowshipable, how would a typical jw congregation treat someone who got a tattoo after baptism?
would they really treat it like it is a conscience issue?.

Careful, thanks for searching out and posting those images. Not a fan of tattoos myself so no matter how cool some of them seem, I would never get anything like that done to myself ๐ฑ The t-shirts suggest that the PIMI types are getting bolder than they were 20 years ago, when I still had anything to do with the dubs. I doubt that they would be worn on field service though; it's still suits and ties, isn't it?
The stuff I read online suggested to me that it would be officially considered a "conscience issue", but I guess that privately, people would be judged as "spiritually immature". Thanks Journeyman, for reminding me of that term!

How do the GB pronounce "Warwick"? The British (and Australian) way: phonetically spelled as "Worrick"? Or like Dionne Warwick ("War-wick")?

Memorial Attendances 2020 to 2023
by slimboyfat infollowing from the convention attendance thread i looked back on my notes to see the memorial attendances over the pandemic.
this is what i found.
i donโt have any pre-pandemic attendances but iโd estimate them around 80 to 90 or so in recent years.

Is 80 to 90 a normal congregation size, pre-pandemic? I would have assumed larger than that ๐ค.
