Note: the term f***ing around" here is a metaphor for how much tampering with the evidence, both real and fake, you have to do, in order to find out stuff. It's not about sleeping around. In this case it means, how much ferreting around, outside of acceptable WT sources of information, did you do before you realised it wasn't for you?

Secret Elders Book? Bwahahaha!
by NotFormer ini remember a couple of decades ago when the internet was relatively young and the wt was at war with it, that they were battling to keep the pay attention book secret, commencing legal action against anyone who published it online (and of course, trying to out anyone who leaked it).
i think it was a norwegian skeptics organisation who had it available for download and dared the wt lawyers to come after them.. so i guess the new shepherd the flock book came out to try and put the genie back in the bottle and reassert some air of mystery and secrecy back into the equation.. so i typed jehovah's witnesses secret elder book into google.
colour me gobsmacked!

In a different thread I recently made the assertion that the WT was a door to door sales organisation and that Kingdom Halls were not for "Christian meetings", but were distribution centres/warehouses where the unpaid sales staff picked up their merchandise and got their instructions.

he would turn in his grave if he knew the end didn’t come by 2023.. back in the 1970s he really believed in the 75 thing.
he was so disappointed and almost blamed everyone else why the end didn’t come.

by enoughisenough inmaybe not the best subject area for post, but i was watching 3 different youtube channels in which pronounciations of god's and his son's names were being discussed.
all 3 agreed that the scribes ( i believe thought to be greek ) when copying yeshua ( jesus) into greek used a word ( instead of yeshua ) that in greek meant hail zeus so that christians would unwittingly praise their god.
at least 2 of the videos mentioned the nicean counsel and over 50 gods were being voted on and they finially voted on 2 : krishna and zeus ( jesus christ ) anyway, all of this was interesting to say the least.

Iesous is the Hellenised version of the Hebrew name Joshua/Yeshua, which means "Yahweh is salvation". It has nothing to do with Zeus.
It's probably how Joshua is rendered in the Septuagint, someone who has a copy might be able to check.
I just checked: according to Wikipedia, it is used in the Septuagint to represent Joshua.

She passes that information on to the elders. The WT lauds her action, even though it could land her in prison or get her sued.
I assume she wouldn't be stupid enough to make a copy of the relevant page. So when she goes to the elders and tells them that she saw a file with the relevant data, what do the elders do? Mary is only one witness. Would they dare prosecute the sister whose confidentiality has been breached?

Further to what I said above, could there come a time when the Kingdom Halls are all sold, and the JWs are renting halls off other groups, like some small churches do? I can imagine that all the pride and bluster will have left the R&F if that ever happened 😞. -

Most sensible businesses, and lets face it, the WT corporation is a business, use their assets to generate income. Back when the WT was selling stuff, the Kingdom Halls were basically distribution centres, or warehouses, where the sales staff would pick up their merchandise and receive their instructions on today's sales route. Now that they aren't actually selling anything, that warehouse model isn't working. They have assets sitting idle and clocking up expenses like insurance and utilities.
So what does a business do if it is in the business of owning meeting halls? A sane business in that line would rent out their meeting halls. Where I live, the various small startup churches, that can't afford their own buildings, meet in school assembly halls and other community centres, presumably paying some rental. If the WT weren't such snobs, they could rent out purpose built space to such groups. And to the scouts and other such groups.
But of course, the WT is very big on appearances and not associating with the wrong crowd. Unless it's the UN or some other group that benefits them in some way. Remember their amicus curiae brief with Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, back when the whole "should churches pay sales tax" thing started? That's when the decline started. The Watchtower's stubborn refusal to pay taxes to the superior authorities meant that they eventually stopped selling their magazines door to door, and eventually ended up where they are today, with no golden income streams.
I don't see them renting out Kingdom Halls any time soon. So I guess they are going to have to keep selling them until they run out of them. 🙄
