No more REPORTING field service!!!!!!!!!
by BoogerMan inthis is going to break the hearts of a lot of uber-jw's!
reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

Things JWs Say That Don't Mean What They Think It Means
by NotFormer insometimes things don't come across the way the speaker intended.. years ago there was an ad by the whitegoods company fisher and paykel.
they showed them going to great lengths to get customer feedback on what was important to them.
one customer said that she wanted it to be easy to get her appliances serviced when they broke down.

Sue, one anecdote that I'm pretty sure I've read here is when the householder says "I'm sorry, but I'm a Methodist!", the JW will quip "I'm sorry you're a Methodist, too!"

It should be scriptural because they always warn against "going beyond what is written".

Did Anyone Have Fun With Their Field Service Reports?
by NotFormer innow that there is new light on reporting hours in field service, it's raised a few questions for me, who was never in the jws.
did any of you ever have fun with the field service report slips, by finding creative ways of reporting time without raising suspicions in those who oversaw the collection of those slips?.
also, can anyone upload an image of what the slips looked like, or point me to a post that gives uploaded examples of the sort of paperwork that was familiar to jws in good standing?.

Meanmrmustard, I remember people saying that when they were out in field service, they would pick out what houses they would occupy when the owners were slain at Armageddon. That could have passed for "fun" in Dubdom.

Hailstones (2)
by NotFormer inwith the change to reporting field service and now allowing people to repent during the gt, presumably up until armageddon, i'm assuming that the "hailstones" message is now permanently on hold.
can someone explain this to me; am i understanding this right?.

Absolutely Diogenesister, the two stances look mutually exclusive to me
Beth Sarim, they theoretically could walk it back under new "new light" đ, but I imagine that every time there's new light, they lose some hangers on that have just grown tired of it all. New light that returns to the old hardline position after this "kinder, gentler" change might be too much for a lot of people.

Yes, I think that the point is not the legitimacy of their hailstones interpretation, but what they currently believe about it. And within that belief, the recent announcements seem to preclude that "hailstones message" from ever happening. The GB have basically painted themselves into a corner on this one.

Thanks Atlantis. It's a fairly generic form. I was hoping it might lend itself to creative input from the larrikin PIMO types that must have been wishing for ways to make fools of the GB. I can't see much you can do with this in that vein. Did any PIMOs figure out ways to do it?
moley: was that the main way you maintained your sanity?

Thought on â0 hoursâ reporting
by FFGhost inso everyone knows the âbig newsâ of this past weekend, no more reporting of hours, placements, return visits, etc.
beginning november 1, jws just tick a box indicating whether they âshared in any form of the ministry during the monthâ.. so there was a brief comment by a redditor that seems like a brief joke âthrowaway commentâ but after thinking about itâŠ.why not?.
the idea is, what is âany form of the ministryâ?

"This change, and others, would not have got the unanimous vote while Tony Morris had a say."
That's an interesting charge. Was he that much of an old guard hardliner?

"Yes, but saying Hi to a disfellowshipped one would not allow you to tick any boxes."
They just love their two-tiered class systems, don't they? đ

RonW, I sincerely hope that that anecdote is one of those JW urban legends! đ±
