December 2023 p. 6 par. 15 - "An especially fine work that gives evidence of our faith is our zealously sharing the good news with others."
Yet they've cut out the reporting of hours spent in field service. How do they measure zeal now?

so, folks, 60 years ago, starting on september 1st, i believe, we, local witnesses in southern california, had the "privilege" of attending the "around the world assembly", at, of all places, the rose bowl, in pasadena.
(i think that it was an 8-day assembly) i was 9 years old then, almost ready to start 4th grade.
so, was anyone else, on this site, at that assembly?
"I remember Billy Graham had a convention at the same time and the front page of the newspapers would print which group had the most attendees. Some one said Grahams people just added the next day count to the first day. To make it look like they Had bigger crowds."
Oh, Billy would have had the bigger crowds. It was never the same people attending every day, so the unique visitor number would have been higher.
thank you atlantis!!!.

Bribie: "The garbage that comes out of the US is staggering!"
Especially the stuff from Bethel!
yesterday i was visited by 2 witnesses, and we had a long chat about lots of things!
one of them named claire took the lead and i instantly felt some sort of connection to her, after we had spoken and they had left i started to have this overwhelming feeling to research her and what she had spoken about but i couldn’t find her anywhere on any website or social media, so i left it and thought nothing more of it all day….
however the strange thing is i had a dream that night and claire was in it, many things happened in this dream that i was told i was only allowed to speak about with claire, i can speak of the dream to others but the details only me and claire can know!
A total of one post and a weird one at that = troll? 🤔
a very good friend of many years told me that he prays to mary and makes requests.
i didn't try to discuss/debate the subject - his choice - but wondered how catholics would view these scriptures: .
(john 14:6) jesus answered, “i am the way and the truth and the life.
Some pagan gods became Roman Catholic saints. For example Brigid was a goddess, a member of the Tuatha de Danaan, and when Catholicism came to Ireland, she simply became St. Brigid. You could argue that veneration of the saints was a way of allowing pagan peoples to keep their local gods, while giving lip service to "Christianity".
this is going to break the hearts of a lot of uber-jw's!
reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

The official announcement will surely not take anybody by surprise at this time. It's not like the news hasn't gone out throughout the four corners of the Earth by now!
i was born in 1977 & came in as a convert in 2003 --- so i have no idea what went on before my time.. however i have been familiar with the scriptures of "nobody knows the day or hour" & " it will come as a theif in the night" meaning that it was sure but unpredictable time.
how could anyone belive that anyone else ( organization or not) put a date on it?.
also what was the significance of 1975 anyway?
wasanewboy, I had forgotten about that "completed in our 20th century" quote! Was there any Y2K madness in the Kingdom Halls? A few end times prophets associated with mainstream Christianity did a similar calculation to the WT regarding six thousand years = 6 days in God's timetable and that the seventh "day" was going to be the day of rest, The Millennium. In their case they had 2000 as the end of 6000 years and Y2K was going to destroy society and usher in the GT, The Millennium and so on.
some years ago the wt started putting it out there that noah took 120 years to build the ark, and since the wt was the new ark, it may allow them up to 2034 (1914 + 120) before armageddon.
it could have been their new 1975 to get excited about, but i don't see any mention of it at all now.
what happened during the two decades since last i observed anything about the wt?.
Nikolaus, it's such a tempting date! GB members who lived through the excitement of the "Stay alive 'til '75" era must have fond memories of it, how much the R&F were hanging onto every one of Knorr's words. It's still over a decade away, plenty of time to plan an announcement...
russell is kind of acknowledged as the founder, but rutherford is the one who really made the wt what it is, or at least laid the foundations for what it came to be, today.
how much would someone from that era recognise in the wt today?
what are the big changes that they would see?.

just a good conversation at home about the hour report change.. we think the change was not impmemented because the gb are such a lovely bunch of old grandpa's having the best in mind for us individuals.. there will be only, and we say only, an organizational reason for it.
a legal reason, to protect jw.org and it's officials and wealth.. next step?
maybe selling more kh and when jw hollywood studio's in rampoo are ready a change to tv subscription.. what do you think?
You didn't just paint pictures, the GB/President spelled out predictions in graphic detail. Then claimed it was everyone elses fault for believing those predictions. There're enough people alive today who lived through this era to call BS on the theocratic warfare, Rattigan.
