the gb seems to have a bunker mentality, that they are special, and that the world is out to get them, so they tend to keep within their tightly controlled, protective environment.
bottlegate proved that there is some danger outside of the rarified atmosphere of their echo chamber; you never know when a camera might be trained on you, or that someone might recognise you as being something more than plain old "joe citizen".
further, tm3's new address was quickly found and distributed, and (as i understand it) someone drove to his gated community to tell the security guard that tm3's "ass is grass".
Same place. Maybe the correct term is HOA. Supposedly this Selena person drove up to someone, somewhere and made the "his ass is grass" statement:

Again "as I understand it". And plenty of people have been saying that the GB should have moved him into a gated community. I just assumed they had in the first place.
HOAs and gated communities aren't much of a thing here.
Sorry if I gave a wrong impression.
Let's go back to the original post with "people know his new address, and many are trying to find out more".
To be quite frank, I would rather not accurately know Tony's living situation, because I don't want to be a party to anything untoward happening to him due to the dissemination of that information. The last thing we want is vigilantes hunting him down for past evil, real or imagined.
What's the official position on a full Brazilian? π€
But seriously, do you think that that has ever come up in a GB meeting? π±
It's not entirely implausible; after all, this is a group that believe that uninvolved parties have the right to ask who did what to whom, and how, in the privacy of the bedroom. π
will it be resurrected after the norway trial?.
.
guess which country/continent is missing?.
Time for the Australian government to consider banning the bastards again!
a department in bethel wants to try to make money from regional conventions by asking local hotels if they will give a special rate and a coupon code to give to jws.. .
they should just keep it simple and not be greedy for dishonest gain.. .
this year some convention sites the hotels said no thank you i think the jws are going to book with us anyway.
ElderBerry, the watchdog is rapidly losing its teeth.
future gb: "please come back!
all is forgiven!".
would it work?
When I quote them saying "All is forgiven!", I'm not suggesting that the disfellowshipped actually need to be forgiven for anything. It's just channeling those entitled parents who estrange their kids and then want them to come back. "All is forgiven!" was what is now known as a meme, back in the day.
with what is arguably the biggest change to jw life in recent decades (the scrapping of publishers counting hours) what does this lead to?.
in my mind these are the results;.
1) a massive decrease in 'preaching hours'.
Elena: "I canβt find the true global numbers of pioneers, publishers ect, but I would love to see some charts showing the last 100yesrs. I suspect they would show a peak and now way over the peak and now big decline."
Would they be honest enough to publish the decline? The graph moving forward might show a plateau from the point at which an honest graph would show a decline.
perhaps this has been printed here before...but still it gave me a few laughs...so here it is again.. the apostates' handy jw glossary.

"anointed" - an experience that, unfortunately, no "anointed" one has ever been able to explain.
Is "ones" in that list? There always seems to be a mention of some sort of "ones" with an adjectival epithet attached, like "faithful ones" , "loyal ones", etc.

So, are they doubling down on their isolationism, cutting themselves off further from any ordinary encounters with the outside world that they might previously have had? If so, are they right to do so? Has the world become that little bit more dangerous for them?
couple years ago as a promising ms i had some weird conversations with two young elders.
it was always as we where alone only i and the elder.
they would initiate a conversations about things like blood doctrine, celebrating birthdays, view on homosexuality etc.
I was just looking at the lyrics of Walk Like An Egyptian, to try and create a "Talk Like An Apostate" parody, but it was a bit too complex to pull off π.
It reminds me of all those fake questions posed by loyal JWs on Quora, the ones that are supposedly by apostates asking gotcha questions, but are just a straw man to be knocked down by the loyal ones.
It makes you wonder how loyal those loyal ones are, really. By WT rules, they shouldn't be engaging at all with people whom they consider to be apostates.
Interestingly, any elders who are going to try these "sting operation" tactics have to be able to get the right sorts of doubts to sound like they might be sincerely questioning; are they reading "apostate" literature and sites to find the right kinds of questions?
