How about you summarise what this clear and present danger is? No-one seems to trust the link.

Even British soccer fans get together to practice the songs they sing at matches, so a bit of choir practice before a large group gathering probably isn't such a bad idea. Unfamiliar songs at churches are usually awkward. Not that you would know at one of the churches I've been attending recently: they play the backing tape so loudly that I can't hear the person next to me singing.

They did get into trouble for using a Jack Daniels (or was it Jim Beam?) ad on a magazine cover in the 80s. It had a different cover in the boxed set.

Armageddon Car
by OnTheWayOut inhow many of you bought a nice sedan, suv, or even a minivan back in the days that you described as your "armageddon car" that you would care for and it would last until the end arrived?.
i was driving a 1974 plymouth volare wagon in 1992 when i managed to get an 8-year old buick century.
it was low mileage and had a very luxurious interior.

These little snippets of WT days gone by are always fascinating to me! π€ I suppose every group has its own jargon, catchphrases and idioms.
I know that if I had ever told my mother that I was going out to buy an Armageddon car, she would've been expecting me to be driving something out of Mad Max. π±

Moving on in a new chapter
by redsetter2 inmoving on is the hardest thing anyone has to cope with.. i have officially left the org.
and now it feels my family have been waiting to do this for a long time, officially shunning me, even though they were practically doing this whilst i was still in.. it feels like i've accomplished a victory and at the same time i feel guilty i was tangled up in communication with someone who "hid who they were" claiming to leak information from bethel.
i got the call from the man who i thought i worked with.

I seem to remember in a discussion years ago that even mentioning that there were hidden images and messages in WT literature would get you disfellowshipped.
It's possible that during the 80s, the GB's grip on the art department was not all that strong. It's always puzzled me that the perpetrators of that hoax weren't tracked down and purged, Ray Franz style.
It may be related to the purported struggle between the writing and service departments. Unfortunately, Jaracz won that one and weaponised the CSA cover-ups*.
*As always, the source is snippets I've read here.

1,500 Days since Stephen Lett said this:
by Chevelle in"so the events unfolding around us are making clearer than ever that weβre living in the final part of the last days.
undoubtedly the final part of the final part of the last days.
shortly before the last day of the last days.

markweatherill, in the WT's defence, they made that statement on April the 1st. They might have had their fingers crossed, too. π±
Are JWs allowed to cross their fingers π€? How do you make the sign of a torture stake? π€

Things you can not say in "field service" anymore.
by greenhornet inmany years ago we would be on someone's doorstep, when waiting for the house holder to come to the door we say something like ... yea after the big a this is going to be my house.
imagine saying that today with the common use of doorbell cameras and the squatting problem .

Come to think of it, is "We're out in field service" something you now can't say in field service? π€

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
