It's a pity that the WT doesn't have the bidding/response format that some of the older mainstream churches have:
Elder: Here endeth the announcements!
Congregation: That's a lot of bull!

In the good old days, the WT was a personality cult built around Rutherford. Now it's built around people with no personality. đ

the watchtowerâstudy edition | december 2023. study article 52. young sistersâbecome mature christian women.
18 you may choose to get married.
the qualities and skills that we have discussed will help you to become a capable wife.
I think Jan might be referring to the picture, and I'll ask the same question: are men expected to keep the Kingdom Hall tidy, or is that the one "privilege" that the sisters get?

"Get excited by the stimulating artwork" is a nice touch... đș
today, my google search for jehovah's witnesses, delivered this result from the new york times.
great coverage and photos of all the real estate watchtower sold in new york city.
a great look back.
An interesting overview of the WT. Insular, opportunistic, lacking in any loyalty to community. I wonder if they fixed up the park they promised to upgrade?
goeby's wife asked "if love instead of hours is the motivation why do pionieers and co's have to count their time?"..
i don't know.... and, if people in an organization are instructed and trained years over years that works and counting time is making them good a good christian and acceptable for jehovah and for saving their live, how will they feel now???.
g..
What form do you have to fill out to prove that you are motivated by enough love?
as soon as you see steve letts talk at the agm you think to yourself âoh my, whatâs happened to him?.
his hand has plasters and his skin doesnât look healthy, like he has inflammation or something serious going on.. he had put on weight and is all bloated and puffy .
his skin really doesnât look good, the kind of inflammation many people notice after the experimental covid vaccines.. there have been very high numbers of people reported inflammation after the experimental covid vaccines.
Those are interesting posts, Vidiot. Perhaps being in the rarified atmosphere of Bethel leads to people really believing that they are God's special people. But it's not just the GB who have to believe it, but everyone in the Bethel circle. The GB members had to believe it when they were lower level Bethelites, and the Bethelites upon whose shoulders they now sit must believe it too. It just goes to show that insular and insulated thinking can be very powerful.
i wasn't around when the sparlock thing hit about 11 years ago, but it became such a meme that that debacle still gets mentioned from time to time.
one thing that came up in conversations of the time was about how dumb the name was; that someone in bethel could have come up with a less lame name.
i think that that bethelite was trying to be clever by using "warlock" as the stem and dropping the "w".
A different thread about it suggested that it was very "The Onion" in style. It's written too much like it's by an exjw. The Simpsons wouldn't risk defaming a GB member of a minor religion with deep pockets. And the Simpsons viewing public would have no idea who or what was being lampooned.

I wonder if Groening was having a lend? I can't find any reference to it being an actual episode beyond the rumours. If it had been real, there would be clips of that episode all over YouTube, I'm guessing. Maybe it was an April 1st joke by Groening that wasn't reported on until later? đ€
